Millions of visitors come to Paris every year from all around the world. Most visitors stay here for three or four days. As for me, I visited Paris 35 years ago — and never left. At the time, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. But I found my job in this city.
I suffered from Asperger Syndrome (阿斯伯格综合征) when I was six years old. I was shy and loved to read and memorize facts. One of the biggest problems I faced was communicating with others. I couldn’t understand what others were talking about.
I arrived in Paris when I was in my 20s. I happened to get a job here. At first, I had a problem with change in everyday life, especially when communicating with people. But I like to memorize facts, and that really helps in my job because people love to learn all of the interesting things about Paris.
I was afraid to talk with people before. Now, I’ve discovered that I talk a lot! I love coming to work. Every day when I come to work, I feel it’s time for me to provide the best service for visitors. I love to learn something new because I can’t wait to share the information with others. For hundreds of years, people have used wind to drive boats on rivers or grind grain for food. Today, wind power has become one of the fastest-growing clean energy sources(能源)around the world. It offers us a green way to produce electricity without burning coal or oil, which helps cut down harmful gas and slow the speed of climate change.
Wind turbines(风力发电机)are the key equipment for wind power. They look like huge fans firmly fixed on tall steel towers. When wind blows, it pushes the long blades(叶片)to spin. The spinning movement drives a generator(发电机)inside the machine and produces electricity. A single large turbine can supply enough electric power for hundreds of homes every year. When many turbines are placed together in the same area, they form a wind farm.
Compared with traditional power plants, wind power has many strengths. It produces no dirty gas and will not pollute the air. Wind is free and it will not run out as fossil fuels do. However, it also has clear weaknesses. Wind does not blow all the time. On quiet, windless days, turbines cannot work at all. Besides, some people think these tall towers break the quiet beauty of nature. A few birds may also get hurt when flying near the fast-spinning blades.
To solve these problems, engineers keep making new designs. They build wind farms out at sea, where winds are stronger and steadier than on land. They also set up special warning systems to protect birds. Experts believe wind power will play a bigger part as the world tries to reduce pollution and gradually turn to greener energy in the future.

B. It burns coal inside the tall tower.
C. It uses water to produce electric power.
D. Wind pushes its blades to spin and drive a generator.
34. The underlined word “spin” in Paragraph 2 means ______.
A. turn round fast B. break down suddenly
C. shine brightly D. grow slowly
35. What can we infer from the text?
A. Wind can produce electricity everywhere all day long.
B. Wind turbines do no harm to any wildlife.
C.Wind farms at sea get more stable wind.
D. Wind power has already taken the place of coal power.

For a long time, many astronomers believed the outer edge of the Milky Way was a lifeless, desolate region where no new stars could form. However, this traditional view has now been completely overturned.
Chinese astronomers have discovered a pair of young, blue “baby star clusters” on the outskirts of the Milky Way. They have named the twin clusters Emei-1 and Emei-2. 36
The discovery was made by a research team from China West Normal University and published online in Nature Astronomy. Because they were born recently, these stars appear much bluer and brighter than the older ones. 37
According to He Zhihong, the first author of the paper, researchers studied how the clusters were born. They found the clusters were born from a violent collision between two thick gas clouds about 11 million years ago. 38 It made an extremely compressed environment. This started the birth of this pair of star clusters.
39 They never found any stars. However, the discovery of the “Emei” clusters proves that stars can form under extreme conditions.
It has greatly changed people’s understanding of where stars are able to form. And it provides direct evidence supporting the theory that the Milky Way forms new stars by taking in fresh gas from its surroundings. 40
A. This collision created strong pressure.
B. It is a large system of about 400 billion stars.
C. In the long history of the universe, they are real “newborns”.
D. These clusters are about 45,000 light-years away from Earth.
E. Just like Earth orbiting the Sun, it orbits the centre of the Milky Way.
F. For a long time, astronomers could only detect gas in fast-moving clouds.
G. It also helps us learn more about how the Milky Way grows and evolves over time.

Lena had always been a quiet girl who struggled to make friends. At school, whenever someone tried to talk to her, her mind would race with worries:“What if I say something wrong? What if they think I'm strange?” These thoughts always made her trip over her words or give awkward replies. Once, after she accidentally gave a wrong answer in class, she heard some classmates laughing quietly. Since then, she had become even more afraid to speak up.
One rainy afternoon, while walking home from school, she noticed a small dog huddled(蜷缩)under a bush. The dog looked lost and scared, just like how she felt whenever she tried to join a conversation. It was shaking, wet, and alone. Lena gently approached it, and then eased into a crouch(蹲下) a few feet away.
The dog wagged(摇摆)its tail slightly and came closer. Lena noticed a blue collar hidden under its wet fur. Something about its trusting eyes made her heart ache. She decided to take it home. Her parents agreed to keep it temporarily while searching for its owner. Lena named the dog “Shadow” because it followed her everywhere, just like her own shadows of self-doubt.
As days passed,Lena noticed how naturally Shadow interacted with everyone. At the park, he would approach others with complete confidence and make friends effortlessly. Even when he made mistakes, like accidentally knocking over someone’s water bottle, his friendly tail wag would make everyone laugh with him, not at him.
Taking Shadow for walks gave Lena unexpected friendships. Emily, a girl from her class, often came to the park with her own dog. They started talking about their pets ,and soon Emily became Lena's first real friend. Through Emily, Lena met other kids and gradually found herself part of a group that would meet at the park to play with their dogs. For the first time, she felt like she belonged.
注意:(1)续写词数应为150词左右;
One day,a woman carrying a “Lost dog: Lucky”poster walked into the park.
Lena and Emily began visiting Lucky every now and then.

W: What kind of sport do you often do?
M: On Mondays and Wednesdays, I run several miles on a running machine. On Fridays, I take judo lessons.
W: So can you tell me something that I should pay attention to?
M: Of course. Don’t exercise when you are too hungry or too full. Do warm-ups before you exercise.
W: Yes. Anything else?
M: Remember to relax your muscles after exercising.
W: OK. Thank you very much.
M: You are welcome.

M: Susan, can you give me a description about Laura, the new singer?
W: She’s short and slim, with dark black hair and blue eyes.
M: And what is her character like?
W: She’s outgoing, athletic and independent. Her kindness impressed me greatly. She has ever traveled to New Zealand and Africa.

M: I’d love to meet her.
W: Well, we’re thinking of going to the cinema tomorrow. Why not join us?
M: Sure, that’ll be great!
Text 10
My winter holiday is coming to an end. It almost lasts a month, but I feel that I just have a week off. How time flies. I had a wonderful vacation. Or exactly, I had a wonderful Spring Festival. On the first two days of my vacation, I started doing my homework, because I know if I didn’t work on my study now, I couldn’t have a great Spring Festival later on. So I made up my mind to finish my homework before the Spring Festival really comes. How wonderful the expected festival was! My house was full of laughter and happiness. My families and relatives gave me some lucky money and wished me to make progress on my study. I also hung out with friends in the street. When the atmosphere of Spring Festival was just fading away, the Lantern Festival was coming. After that, I don’t have too much holiday time left. Three days later, I will go back to school for my new term. I am so happy that I feel I just had a one-week holiday.
根据Photography Club部分中“It is perfect for anyone who loves taking pictures and wants to learn more about it.(它非常适合任何喜欢拍照并想了解更多信息的人)”可知,加入摄影俱乐部的主要目的是为了更多地了解摄影。
根据The Music Club部分中“You can listen to new tunes (曲子), write your own songs, or even learn how music is made.(你可以听新歌,写自己的歌,甚至学习音乐是如何制作的)”可知,音乐俱乐部适合喜欢写歌的学生。
根据第一段“In high schools, there are lots of clubs and fun things to do. Joining them helps you make friends with people who like the same things as you. It’s a good way to find your place in the school and meet others who share your hobbies and dreams.(在高中,有很多俱乐部和有趣的事情可以做。
根据第一段的“Every day, I lead guests and visitors to take the elevator to viewing platforms (观景台). There, I will point out the attractions and help people find the best places for taking photos.
根据第三段的“One of the biggest problems I faced was communicating with others. I couldn’t understand what others were talking about.(我遇到的最大问题之一就是与他人沟通。我无法理解别人在说什么)”以及第四段的“At first, I had a problem with change in everyday life, especially when communicating with people.(起初,我在日常生活中遇到一些与变化有关的问题,尤其是在与人交流时)”可知,阿斯伯格综合征患者在社交技能方面存在困难。
根据文章最后一段“Now, I’ve discovered that I talk a lot! I love coming to work. Every day when I come to work, I feel it’s time for me to provide the best service for visitors. I love to learn something new because I can’t wait to share the information with others.(现在我发现,我讲话太多了!
标题“Nothing is impossible for a willing heart.(心之所愿,无事不成)”最能概括文章的核心内容。
It is a special way for local people to reuse things and communicate with neighbors.
29. C 推理判断题,原文第二段点明:it creates a warm chance for people who live nearby to talk and share stories. It builds a close connection in the community.
Sellers should set clear prices for each item(对应A);It is wise to put things in order(对应B);And they’d better choose a sunny day for the sale(对应C)。
When wind blows, it pushes the long blades to spin. The spinning movement drives a generator inside the machine and produces electricity。
They build wind farms out at sea, where winds are stronger and steadier than on land。
选项中的 This collision 指代上文的 a violent collision。

One day, a woman carrying a "Lost Dog: Lucky" poster walked into the park. Her eyes lit up the moment she spotted Shadow. Shadow, too, froze for a second before bounding toward her, his tail wagging wildly. Lena’s throat tightened She’d grown so attached to him that the thought of parting made her eyes water. Gathering all her courage, she approached and explained how she had found the dog that rainy afternoon. The woman hugged Lena, her own cheeks wet with tears " Thank you for taking care of my Lucky," she whispered. Though her heart ached, Lena felt a quiet pride in doing the right thing.
Lena and Emily began visiting Lucky every now and then. Each visit was filled with joy: Lucky would jump on them, bringing his favorite toy to share, and the woman would prepare home-made cookies. Slowly, Lena’s shyness began to fade At school, she volunteered to give a talk about pets, speaking confidently about her time with Shadow. Her classmates were surprised by her change, and some even asked to join her and Emily’s park trips. Looking at Lucky playing happily and her friends laughing around her, Lena smiled. She realized that Lucky hadn’t just been her shadows had led her out of darkness, helping her embrace a brighter, more connected life.
