In 1917, he began to teach at Peking University at the invitation of Cai Yuanpei.
Beginning in 1919, Xu studied oil painting and drawing in Paris. His travels around Europe allowed him to explore Western art techniques. He studied the bone structure (骨架) and movement of horses. Such knowledge is clear in his works. But his excellent ink brushwork truly brought his horses to life. Through his art, Xu gave the world a new way of understanding horses, celebrating their beauty, strength and spirit.
In 1923, Xu’s oil painting was shown at the French National Art Exhibition (展览) . Later, he received invitations from many European cities to hold exhibitions internationally.
After returning home in 1927, Xu took an active part in art education. He focused on developing creativity with students. He also encouraged his students to learn from foreign artworks. “There is no other way to learn art, but to keep practising,” Xu once said.
In 1933, Xu organized an exhibition of modern Chinese painting in Paris. It drew in lots of attention and was then moved to Belgium, Milan, Moscow, and other places. Still remember last time when you sat through the test, answered every question carefully, and finally got your graded paper with your score on it? Whether your score makes you jump for joy or feel really down, learning from your graded work is a great chance. Here’s what you should do.
Situation 1: If you understood the question wrongly·Take practice tests in the same way as the real one: the same time of day and the same place if possible. This can help you focus (专注) better during exams.
·Try to find the key words of a question. And think carefully before you jump into answering it. Clearly make sure what the question is exactly asking.
Situation 2: If you have no idea why you lost points
Go back to your study materials—is the answer just there?
·Yes, the answer is in the textbook, but you just didn’t remember it during the test. Then try “Blank Page Testing”. For example: if you’re studying history, close your textbook and write down everything you remember about an event. In this way, you can find out what you know and don’t know before the test.
·No, you really never saw this before in your study materials. Get a study partner and discuss your questions with him or her. Asking your teachers for help is another practical way.
Situation 3: If you knew the answer but were too stressed
·Get help from teachers! They will stand in your shoes and help you deal with test stress.
·Get help from the school Health Centre! We have tons of great ideas about how to manage your stress.
When we ask successful students if they’ve ever felt lost after a test, almost all of them say yes. So this is not uncommon. It may be hard to cheer yourself up after getting a grade you’re not happy with, but learning from mistakes and trying new ways to study are what learning is all about. The exciting “aha” moment comes from working through challenges. So don’t give up. Things really do get better.
27.What’s the advantage of “Blank Page Testing”?
A.It helps you get well prepared for the history tests.
B.It helps you see how well you’ve learned the knowledge.
C.It helps you write down everything you have remembered.
D.It helps you get a partner and discuss questions with him or her.
28.Which of the following sayings best describes the advice in Situation 3?
A.Practice makes perfect. B.When in doubt, shout it out.
C.Where there is a will, there is a way. D.A problem shared is a problem halved.
29.What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.It’s easy to get good grades if we stay happy.
B.It is impossible to feel happy after getting a bad grade.
C.Facing mistakes is a good chance to improve our study.
D.Feeling lost after a test is rare among successful students.
30.What is the purpose of the passage?
A.To show how to deal with graded test papers.
B.To encourage students to learn from others.
C.To provide advice on how to read questions.
D.To teach students how to deal with test stress.

My hometown is in the mountains. It was poor twenty years ago. The houses were small and it was difficult for people to go out on rainy days. There were no factories there. People only worked on farms. Children studied in old classrooms. They went swimming and caught fish in the river after school. But now it has changed a lot. People have built many factories near the mountains, and they have moved into comfortable buildings. Children are studying in new teaching buildings. They can have fun in the big playground after school. But their parents ask them not to swim or fish in the river now. The rivers smell bad because of the factories. I don’t like those factories. I hope the river will be clean like it used to be.

根据“The elevator was out of order”和“I reached my seventh-floor apartment”可知,爬七层楼会让人出汗,且后文“But I’m sweating all over!”
根据“I got inside, I headed straight for the fridge”的动作逻辑,进门和开冰箱是接连发生的动作,As soon as意为“一…… As long as“只要”表条件、As far as“就……

根据“Parents everywhere love to give these ‘for your own good’ tips”可知,孩子经常听到这类话,已经听烦了,be tired of doing sth.
care for“关心”、look for“寻找”、wait for“等待”,均不能表达话语和爱的关系,不符合语境。

in short“简言之”、in public“公开地”、in person“亲自”,均和前文被抓包的经历对应不上,不符合语境。

例文
Nowadays, whether teenagers should get pocket money from their parents has become a hot topic among students and parents. In my opinion, teenagers should get pocket money from their parents.
First, it helps us learn how to manage money wisely. We can make a spending plan every month. Second, having pocket money helps us realize that money is earned through hard work. So we will cherish it more and not waste it. Third, we can use it to buy gifts for our family or friends on special days. This shows our love and care.
In a word, proper pocket money is necessary for teenagers’ growth. However, parents should also guide us to use it correctly.
