Step 1

名人图谱导入

激活话题

①出示课本单元扉页的名人图谱，引导学生观察并说出认识的人物，板书 scientist, writer, doctor, explorer, inventor 等职业词：Look at the picture. Who do you see in it?

（We can see Confucius, Sima Qian, Zhang Zhongjing, Isaac Newton, Marie Curie, Yuan Longping, Tu Youyou, Xu Xiake and Florence Nightingale.）

②请学生分享其中人物的故事，教师相机补充关键信息，帮助学生把“认识”转化为“了解”：Do you know any of these people's stories?（Yuan Longping spent his whole life researching hybrid rice. His work helped feed millions of people around the world. / Tu Youyou discovered artemisinin, a medicine that cures malaria. She was the first Chinese woman to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.）

③追问这些人物的共同点，引导学生归纳 inspiring, never give up, make the world better, role models 等关键词，自然引出单元主题：What do these people have in common?（They all worked hard and never gave up. They made great contributions and made the world a better place.）

④组织 1a 职业匹配任务：出示 writer, historian, professor, teacher, researcher, scientist, chemist, physicist 八个职业词与四位人物图卡，请学生把人物与职业对应起来，允许多选，并说明判断依据：Who is a historian?（Sima Qian is a historian. He wrote Records of the Historian.）What about Marie Curie?（She was both a chemist and a scientist.）

观察名人图谱，说出认识的人物及其故事；归纳人物的共同点，进入单元主题；完成 1a 人物与职业的多选匹配并说明依据，扫清听力中的职业词汇障碍。

听力 1b-1c

①出示 1b 听力任务：听对话，把五位说话人（Yaming, Peter, Fu Xing's father, Emma's grandma, Ms Gao）与他们敬佩的

读题圈词，预测听

两级任务

人物匹配起来。请学生先读题，圈出人物姓名，预测说话人可能敬佩谁：Read the task first. What will you listen for?（Who each speaker admires. We should catch the people's names, like Yuan Longping, Michael Faraday, Sima Qian and Marie Curie.）

②呈现 1c 笔记补全单，带领学生浏览 Yuan Longping, Michael Faraday, Sima Qian, Marie Curie 四个人物的信息条，提示空格处可能出现的词性与内容（动词、名词、数字）。

③播放第一遍录音，学生完成说话人与敬佩人物的匹配，教师巡视并提醒学生抓住 admire, my favourite person, my biggest inspiration 等信号词。

④播放第二遍录音，学生补全四个人物的成就笔记，教师提示学生用关键词而非完整句记录。全班核对：What did Yuan Longping do?（He developed a new kind of rice and helped reduce hunger. He also trained people to do research on farming.）What about Michael Faraday?（He did research in physics and chemistry even though he didn't receive a formal education. He dropped out of school at an early age, but he found every chance to study and became a great scientist.）Who was Sima Qian?（He was the writer of the book Shiji (Records of the Historian). He played a big part in reviewing the Chinese calendar at that time.）And Marie Curie?（She made many important discoveries in physics and chemistry, and she won two Nobel Prizes.）

⑤核对后教师把笔记整理成板书，突出“人物—成就”的对应关系，请学生用一句话说出每个人物最打动自己的成就。

力内容；两遍听音，先完成说话人匹配，再补全四人物成就笔记；参与核对并复述“人物—成就”对应信息，掌握“先抓人物、再抓细节”的两级听力策略。

Step 3

听后朗读 1d

自由表达

①学生两人一组分角色朗读课堂对话：Ms Gao 提问，Yaming、Peter、Fu Xing、Emma 分别回答，教师提示 Ms Gao 的追问要自然，学生的回答要读出敬佩之情。

②请两组学生上台表演，其余学生用两条标准进行点评：Do they use because to give reasons? Do they sound admiring?

③组织 1d 自由表达：What do you think about the people mentioned above? Talk about who you admire and why. 教师先示范追问：Class, who do you admire the most?（I really admire Yuan Longping. It was great of him to develop a new kind of rice and help reduce hunger.）That's great! He also trained many people to do research on farming. Who else inspires you?

④教师针对学生的表达即时板书亮点句，特别标注 It was great of sb. to do sth. 的评价句式，为下一组听力与后续语法课储备句型。

分角色朗读对话并互评；用 I admire… because… 与 It was great of sb. to do sth. 句式谈论自己敬佩的人物及原因，在真实表达中初步感知评价句式。

听力 2a-2c

预测验证

①出示 2a 的四位人物与四项成就描述，请学生先预测匹配，激发听音验证的愿望：Who was an important engineer in the 19th century? Who made important discoveries in physics? Who volunteered as a nurse to help the wounded soldiers? Who created a test to see if a computer could really think like a person?

根据成就描述预测四位人物的匹配；听音验证预测并完成 2b 家庭成员填空；
