Travelling with an open heart leads to an amazing experience.
This was my first trip to Barcelona (巴塞罗那), Spain. My classmates and I went out for beautiful scenery as soon as we arrived. We didn’t stop by any banks (银行) to get paper money, because we had bank cards and we thought they would work everywhere.
Our teacher took us to the Sagrada Família, a famous old church. We could choose to buy tickets to visit or go back to the hotel. Most classmates took the subway back. But I stayed and waited in line alone.
At the ticket window, they asked for 10 euros for a ticket. I took out my bank card. But they refused my card and asked for paper money only. I was surprised. I only had three euros on hand.
Just then, I heard someone speaking English. It took me ten minutes to be brave and told them my problem. A kind woman gave me ten euros and said, “Buy me a coffee, and keep the change.”
