Last year, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI doctor. An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment. At the same time, the AI doctor came up with a treatment plan and it was like the human doctors’ thoughts.
In Shandong, a couple was very distressed when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jiangsu, AI doctors help patients know about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help doctors make better choices and they can also make healthcare easier. However, AI doctors need to make more improvements. As one doctor said, “AI doctors can give us ideas, but we still need the care given by humans.”

In our busy modern world, finding time to relax is very important. But did you know that different hobbies can bring us different benefits? Scientists have found that having a hobby is not just a way to pass time — it’s good for both our body and mind.
First of all, hobbies help us manage stress. When we are doing something we enjoy, our brain produces dopamine (多巴胺) that make us feel happy. For example, a study showed that if 80% of people who paint once a week, they will feel less worried about their daily problems. Activities like yoga and meditation (冥想) are especially good for calming our minds.
Secondly, hobbies can help us learn new skills and build confidence. When we start a new hobby, we might find it difficult. But if we keep trying and finally succeed, we feel a sense of achievement. This feeling makes us more confident in other areas of our life.
Thirdly, some hobbies are social. Joining a book club or a sports team allows us to meet new people who share our interests. We can chat with them, share ideas, and make friends. This helps us feel connected and less lonely. Studies show that people with social hobbies are often happier and live longer.
So how can you choose the right hobby? Think about what you like. Do you enjoy being alone or with others? Do you prefer quiet activities or exciting ones? The most important thing is to find something you truly enjoy. As an old saying goes, “Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” The same is true for hobbies. When you love what you do in your free time, life becomes more colorful and meaningful.
33. How does the writer show hobbies help with stress?
A. By telling a story.
B. By giving examples and numbers.
C. By asking questions.
34. What can the sense of achievement from a hobby bring us?
A. It can make us feel more stressed.
B. It can make us want to give up.
C. It can make us more confident.
35. In which part of a newspaper can you probably read this text?
A. Sports News.
B. Science & Health.
C. Story Time.
36. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Hobbies bring us many good things and we should choose hobbies we like.
B. Social hobbies can help us make more new friends.
C. Drawing is the best hobby to help us relax.

Hobbies That Are Good for You
When work or school is over, what do you do to pass the time? Do you spend time on your hobbies? Reading or listening to music can help us to calm down after a busy day. Physical hobbies, such as playing tennis or doing yoga, can help us to keep fit. And some hobbies are creative. For example, people sometimes paint pictures to remember a beautiful landscape or object, or reduce stress.
Luca Bruno likes to be creative in his free time. But he doesn’t make art or write stories. Instead, this Italian teenager finds it fun to make mobile phone apps. He thinks that apps can be a great way to help people. He started programming when he was ten, after he read about famous businessmen who started out as programmers. His latest app allows people around the world to find study partners for learning Italian. They can learn Italian and make friends at the same time!
“It gives me such a sense of achievement to see people using the app,” says Luca. “I believe I’m helping people around the world to learn Italian!”
Some people prefer not to make things. They prefer to collect them! In India, Maya Badal doesn’t collect coins or stamps. Instead, this teenage girl collects postcards!
“I know some people think postcards are rather old-fashioned, but I think they’re a good way to learn about different places,” Maya says. “I think it’s interesting to see the beautiful buildings and landscapes in foreign countries.”
Maya’s first postcard shows the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang. Her dad sent it to her when she was five, and she liked it so much that she put it up on her bedroom wall! Now there are over one hundred postcards from thirty-two countries on Maya’s walls. She dreams of travelling to these places in the future.
