如 Passage 2 题 2 问保护区内不允许做什么,游客规则明确“Do not feed the birds”。
如 Passage 7 题 1 猜“limit”的含义,需结合“human contact”与“a better chance of surviving”推断为“减少”。
如 Passage 7 题 3 选“Fly strong and live long!”
不要先读全文——先看题目问什么(who / what / why / how / NOT true / title),把人名、地名、数字、特殊词圈出来,带着问题去读。
题目问 Jane 多久去一次动物收容所(题干 “How often does Jane go to the animal shelter?”),四个选项中只有 B(Once a week)与原文吻合,故选 B。 Every day / Twice a week
题目问一对夫妇带一个 11 岁孩子要付多少钱(题干 “How much should a couple with an 11-year-old child pay for the tickets?”),两人 50×2=100,儿童 25,合计 125,故选 C(¥125)。
【点拨3】NOT allowed 题用“逐项排除”——以 Passage 2 题 2 为例:原文写道“Do not feed the birds. Human food is not good for their health.”,明确禁止用人类食物投喂鸟类。题目问保护区内不允许做什么(题干 “Which of the following is NOT allowed in the reserve?”),A(安静观鸟)、C(沿木栈道行走)、D(欣赏自然风光)都是“What you can do”里鼓励的行为,只有 B(用人类食物喂鸟)被明令禁止,故选 B。
题目问哪组描述最符合鼹鼠(题干 “Which of the following facts can best describe moles?”),①“住在地下”对应 Living Place: underground,③“怕狐狸”对应 Natural Enemy: foxes,④“蚯蚓是美食”对应 Favourite Food: earthworms;而②“视力好”与 Fun Facts 中“don’t see very well”相反,故排除含②的选项,选 C(①③④)。
【点拨5】推理题抓“情感变化链”——以 Passage 8 题 2 为例:原文写道“The snake overheard the porcupine and felt sorry for him.”,蛇先是同情;随后“she found it impossible to get into a comfortable position”,同住后变得不适;最后“I’m glad I let you in!”,又转为高兴。题目问蛇的情感如何变化(题干 “How did the snake’s feelings change?”),三条线索连成 sorry→uncomfortable→happy,故选 D。
【点拨6】词义猜测看“因果与目的”——以 Passage 7 题 1 为例:原文写道“We limit human contact (接触) so they have a better chance of surviving when we let them go back into the wild.”,so 后的目的是“让鹰回到野外后有更大存活机会”,可见减少人类接触是为了保护它。题目问划线词“limit”的含义(题干 “What does the underlined word ‘limit’ mean?”),代入“减少”最通顺,故选 A(Reduce)。
【点拨7】句子填空看“场景与语气”——以 Passage 7 题 3 为例:原文写道“She opens and closes her wings. She takes two steps forward and looks around again.”,鹰展翅、试探、环顾,正是即将高飞的瞬间。横线处是“我”挥手告别时说的话(题干 “Which sentence is most suitable for ▲?”),既要祝福又要与“放飞”呼应,D(Fly strong and live long!)
【点拨8】结构题先“分段再归类”——以 Passage 6 题 3 为例:原文写道“The world has done a lot to protect elephants, but many of them are still losing lives for their ivory.”,第一段以数据说明大象濒危,第二段解释象牙为何昂贵,第三、四段介绍科学家用人造象牙“Digory”替代,第五段引专家观点展望前景。题目问文章的正确结构(题干 “Which is the right structure of the article?”),五段按“现象—原因—对策—展望”层层推进,属逐层深入式,故选 D(①/②/③④/⑤)。

Passage 3
Polar bears are large, strong animals that live in the Arctic. They have thick white fur that keeps them warm in the cold weather. They are good at swimming and hunting seals on the ice.
But now polar bears are in great danger. The biggest problem is climate change. The earth is getting warmer and warmer, so the ice in the Arctic is melting faster and faster. Polar bears need the ice to hunt seals. If there is less ice, they have to swim longer distances to find food. Many polar bears can’t get enough food and become weak. Some even die of hunger.
Another problem is pollution. Chemicals from human activities go into the sea and make the sea water dirty. This is bad for polar bears’ health.
Scientists say that if we don’t take action soon, polar bears may disappear from the earth by the end of this century. To save polar bears, we need to stop global warming. We can use less energy, drive less and plant more trees. Every small action can help.
1.What is the biggest problem for polar bears?
A.Pollution. B.Climate change.
C.Hunting. D.Food shortage.
2.Why do polar bears need the ice?

Passage 6
The world has done a lot to protect elephants, but many of them are still losing lives for their ivory. At the end of the 1970s, over 1.3 million elephants walked around Africa. But today, there are only 450,000 left. This is mainly because of people’s hunting for ivory. With the need for ivory in markets growing, people keep killing elephants. Now at least 20,000 African elephants die each year.
People call ivory “white gold”. Because of its unusual look, people often use it to make expensive things, such as jewellery and works of art. And the ivory material itself is so strong that people can store it for long. That’s why many people are willing to pay high prices for things made of ivory.
However, no matter how expensive the ivory is, it’s wrong of humans to kill elephants. So some scientists are working hard on making the same beauty of ivory with no killing.
Thaddaaus Rath, from a university in Austria has created the man-made ivory called “Digory” with her team. The chemical structure of Digory is completely different from that of the natural ivory, but it looks so real that it is hard to tell the difference by eye.
Another scientist, Fritz Vollrath from the UK, who is also working to protect elephants, felt excited that Digory could save many elephants from danger. He said, “We still need to do more work to improve Digory so that people around the world will accept Digory and like to buy and use it. And I believe that technology like this will help protect more wildlife.”
1.How does the writer tell us elephants are in danger in Paragraph 1?
A.By showing us numbers. B.By introducing Africa.
C.By telling us a story. D.By giving an example.

A.Digory will save all the elephants from danger.
B.It’s impossible for the world to accept man-made ivory.
C.Technology will help support the protection of wildlife.
D.Scientists have already found ways to make better Digory.
3.Which is the right structure of the article?
A.①②/③④/⑤ B.①②/③④⑤
C.①②③/④/⑤ D.①/②/③④/⑤
Passage 7
“Mom! I’m here!” I run to Mom’s car quickly. The wind takes away my voice.
“You made it!” Mom says, but her voice is not happy. She looks into the darkened sky.
BLAM! Something hits the car hard. Then I see a big hawk (鹰). “I couldn’t stop in time. That hawk flew right into us.” Mom cries.
I reach out and catch the hawk before it can fall to the ground. It’s so soft, so warm.
“Is it…? Is it?… dead?” I ask.
The hawk isn’t moving. There’s a knot in my throat, and I can’t speak. “We have to get out of this wind!” Mom says. We arrive home an hour later. I jump out of the car and look at the hawk through the back window.
“It’s alive! I saw the head move!” I say. “Let’s name it Stormy.”
The next day, the sun is shining, and the sky is blue. I run to check on Stormy. Stormy is against the backseat of the car. One wing is hurt. “Now let’s get Stormy to the wildlife center.” Mom says.
After reaching the center, two people carrying a big cage come around the side of the building. “I’m Bev, and this is Alfredo,” the woman says. Bev asks questions about where and when Stormy hit our car. She records Stormy’s information. “OK, let’s get Stormy inside!”
I follow close behind. “Sorry, no visitors,” Bev says when they reach the door. “Hawks are wild animals. We limit human contact (接触) so they have a better chance of surviving when we let them go back into the wild.” I feel sad, but I have to do what’s best for Stormy.
On the last day before school starts, Alfredo says the center will let Stormy go back into the wild this evening and invites me to watch. I focus my binoculars on the open end of the cage. Stormy sticks her head out, then goes back inside. Five minutes pass before Stormy jumps out. She opens and closes her wings. She takes two steps forward and looks around again. Finally, Stormy flies away! She circles overhead, flying higher and higher. She’s beautiful!
“Go, Stormy! ▲ ” I say, waving goodbye.

Passage 8
When winter arrived, the porcupine looked for somewhere nice and warm to live. He ran into the woods, looking around for a place.
First, he came to a fallen tree trunk. “This looks like a suitable place!” he said, digging a hole in its side. But when he poked his head in, he heard “You can’t stay here. It’s our home, and breakfast, lunch and dinner!” said hundreds of tiny termites. The porcupine apologized and backed away. “Now, where can I go?” he wondered.
Then he found a space under a thick bush that seemed to be protected from the wind, so he tried crawling there.
“Hey!” hissed the lynx, showing her sharp paws. “This is my place, and don’t you forget it!” The porcupine went away in a hurry-he didn’t want any trouble. The poor porcupine was really getting worried, “I might freeze if I don’t find somewhere to stay soon!” he said, his teeth chattering.
A snake overheard the porcupine and felt sorry for him. She poked her head out of her hole and said, “Would you like to stay here with me? My home is quite small, but I’m sure we can both fit.”
The porcupine was ever so thankful. He pushed his way into the snake’s narrow home. “This is so nice!” he said. “How kind of you to let me in!”
However, when the snake tried to get to sleep, she found it impossible to get into a comfortable position. Twist and turn as she might, she was always getting hurt by the porcupine’s spines.
“Can you move over a bit?” she asked. The porcupine tried, but it didn’t help! They both spent an uneasy night in the little burrow and hardly slept at all! “I really wanted to help the poor porcupine,” the snake thought, “but I wish I’d never invited him in.”
The porcupine was feeling just as upset. When morning came, he cleared his throat and said,
“I’m sorry that things are so uncomfortable, especially as you have been so kind. I think I have an idea, if you agree!”
The snake was still painful and tired from her sleepless night, so she just nodded. With his paws, the porcupine began scratching at the hole’s walls.
As the snake watched in wonder, the porcupine dug out an extra room that was just the right size for him.
“There you are!” he said in a satisfied voice. “Now there is plenty of room for both of us!”
The snake and the porcupine shared that burrow all winter. It was warmer with the two of them in it, and there was enough space for both animals to sleep comfortably.
The snake enjoyed the stories the porcupine told, and the porcupine was impressed by the snake’s skills at finding food. Their unlikely friendship made winter less lonely for both of them.
“I’m glad I let you in!” the snake hissed, “It’s really nice to share my home!”
1.How many times had the porcupine tried before being invited by the snake?
A.Once. B.Twice. C.Three times. D.Four times.

A.He pushed his way into the snake’s narrow home.
B.He ran into the woods, looking around for a place.
C.The porcupine went away in a hurry-he didn’t want any trouble.
D.With his paws, the porcupine began scratching at the hole’s walls.
4.Which saying best expresses the theme of this story?
A.When we give, we receive. B.Home is where the heart is.
C.Where there is a will, there is a way. D.Many hands make light work.

Passage 7

前文中提到“‘Sorry, no visitors,’ Bev says when they reach the door.”,可知不让人类接触鹰,所以“limit”意为“减少/限制”,与reduce。
从Bev的话“We limit human contact so they have a better chance of surviving when we let them go back into the wild.”
D“Fly strong and live long!”
2.How did the snake’s feelings change?
A.scared→uneasy→satisfied B.sorry→uncomfortable→calm
C.worried→thankful→happy D.sorry→uncomfortable→happy

A.He pushed his way into the snake’s narrow home.
B.He ran into the woods, looking around for a place.
C.The porcupine went away in a hurry-he didn’t want any trouble.
D.With his paws, the porcupine began scratching at the hole’s walls.

1.B 2.D 3.D 4.A
2.根据文中情节:一开始蛇听到豪猪的遭遇,felt sorry for him“感到同情”;同住一晚后,被刺得睡不着,觉得uncomfortable“不舒服”;最后豪猪改造了洞穴,两人愉快过冬,蛇说“I’m glad I let you in”,感到happy“开心”。
