如 Passage 3 题 1 问 Jane 多大,第一段“Jane is a 12-year-old girl”直接给出答案。
如 Passage 6 题 5 要从“kindness from humans can win his loyalty”推断白牙对人类善意的回应。
如 Passage 7 题 2 猜“limit”的含义,需结合“human contact”和“better chance of surviving”推断。
如 Passage 7 题 4 选“Fly strong and live long!”
如 Passage 4 题 3 问写作目的,需从“share some facts about hippos”推断。
不要先读全文——先看题目问什么(who / what / why / how / NOT true / main idea),把人名、地名、数字、特殊词圈出来,带着问题去读。
【点拨1】细节理解题——以 Passage 3 题 1 为例:原文写道“Jane is a 12-year-old girl”,直接给出年龄。题目问 Jane 多大(题干 “How old is Jane?”),四个选项中 B(12)与原文一致,故选 B。
【点拨2】推理判断题——以 Passage 6 题 5 为例:原文写道“Yet he also learned to trust Gray Beaver, who was kind to him sometimes”,白牙最终选择了忠诚。题目问能推断什么(题干 “What can we infer from the passage about White Fang?”),由此可推断“人类的善意能赢得它的忠诚”,故选 B。
原文写道“We limit human contact (接触) so they have a better chance of surviving”,后文说“减少人类接触”有利于鹰的存活,说明 limit 在此意为“减少”,故选 A(Reduce)。
【点拨4】主旨大意题——以 Passage 7 题 5 为例:原文结尾“She circles overhead, flying higher and higher. She’s beautiful!” 题目问最佳标题(题干 “Which is the best title for the text?”),全文围绕救助一只受伤的鹰 Stormy 展开(撞车→救助→送野生动物中心→放飞),核心事件是“救助鹰”,故选 B(Saving a Hawk)。
【点拨5】句子填空题——以 Passage 7 题 4 为例:原文写道“She opens and closes her wings. She takes two steps forward and looks around again”,鹰展翅准备高飞。 D(Fly strong and live long!)
第二段开头说“Usually, in most photos of these huge African animals, we can see them in the water”,接着解释河马每天在水中待 16 小时的原因。
【点拨7】写作目的题——以 Passage 4 题 3 为例:原文写道“Hippos may look like big, slow animals, but they can run fast”,落脚点是提醒人们远离河马。 提醒:写作目的题要看全文的“落脚点”——科普文=share facts,议论文=argue a point,记叙文=tell a story。
【点拨8】NOT true 题型的反向排除——以 Passage 2 题 3 为例:原文写道“Scientists say that if we don’t take action soon, polar bears may disappear from the earth by the end of this century”,说的是“本世纪末”而非“今年年底”。

Passage 2
Polar bears are large, strong animals that live in the Arctic. They have thick white fur that keeps them warm in the cold weather. They are good at swimming and hunting seals on the ice.
But now polar bears are in great danger. The biggest problem is climate change. The earth is getting warmer and warmer, so the ice in the Arctic is melting faster and faster. Polar bears need the ice to hunt seals. If there is less ice, they have to swim longer distances to find food. Many polar bears can’t get enough food and become weak. Some even die of hunger.
Another problem is pollution. Chemicals from human activities go into the sea and make the sea water dirty. This is bad for polar bears’ health.
Scientists say that if we don’t take action soon, polar bears may disappear from the earth by the end of this century. To save polar bears, we need to stop global warming. We can use less energy, drive less and plant more trees. Every small action can help.

Passage 4
Hippos are called “river horses”. They are one of the biggest land animals in Africa.
Usually, in most photos of these huge African animals, we can see them in the water. The reason is that hippos stay in the water for 16 hours a day to keep themselves cool in hot weather in Africa. They sleep in the water, and their babies are also born there. You may think hippos live only in rivers and lakes, and they are good at swimming. However, they can’t swim. They are just so big that they can walk in the water and stand on the bottom of a lake. They can breathe (呼吸), see and hear when their bodies are under the water because their noses, eyes and ears are on the top of their heads. When the sun goes down, hippos will come out of the water and travel to look for food.
It’s easy to think hippos are funny and friendly animals. In fact, they get angry easily and often fight. ________? They fight with lions for land or rivers. They fight to protect their young babies. They also attack (攻击) the boats for their safety if the boats come too close to them. Hippos are very dangerous!
Hippos may look like big, slow animals, but they can run fast —about 30 kilometers an hour. That’s faster than a person can run. In a word, if you meet hippos in the wild, just stay away from them!
1.What is Paragraph 2 mainly about?
A.The reason why hippos are dangerous. B.The photos of hippos.
C.The living habits of hippos. D.The babies of hippos.
2.Which of the following is the best for “________ ” in Paragraph 3?
A.How do hippos fight B.Who do hippos fight with
C.Why do hippos fight D.When do hippos fight
3.What’s the purpose (目的) of this passage?
A.To show love for hippos.
B.To share some facts about hippos.
C.To give some suggestions on protecting hippos.
D.To tell people to stay away from hippos.
Passage 5
The world has done a lot to protect elephants, but many of them are still losing lives for their ivory. At the end of the 1970s, over 1.3 million elephants walked around Africa. But today, there are only 450,000 left. This is mainly because of people’s hunting for ivory. With the need for ivory in markets growing, people keep killing elephants. Now at least 20,000 African elephants die each year.
People call ivory “white gold”. Because of its unusual look, people often use it to make expensive things, such as jewellery and works of art. And the ivory material itself is so strong that people can store it for long. That’s why many people are willing to pay high prices for things made of ivory.
However, no matter how expensive the ivory is, it’s wrong of humans to kill elephants. So some scientists are working hard on making the same beauty of ivory with no killing.
Thaddaeus Rath, from a university in Austria, has created the man-made ivory called “Digory” with his team. The chemical structure of Digory is completely different from that of the natural ivory, but it looks so real that it is hard to tell the difference by eye.
Another scientist, Fritz Vollrath from the UK, who is also working to protect elephants, felt excited that Digory could save many elephants from danger. He said, “We still need to do more work to improve Digory so that people around the world will accept Digory and like to buy and use it. And I believe that technology like this will help protect more wildlife.”
1.How does the writer tell us elephants are in danger in Paragraph 1?
A.By showing us numbers. B.By introducing Africa.
C.By telling us a story. D.By giving an example.
2.Which of the following does Fritz Vollrath agree with?
A.Digory will save all the elephants from danger.
B.It’s impossible for the world to accept man-made ivory.
C.Technology will help support the protection of wildlife.
D.Scientists have already found ways to make better Digory.
3.Which is the right structure of the article?
A.①②/③④/⑤ B.①②/③④⑤
C.①②③/④/⑤ D.①/②/③④/⑤
Passage 6
White Fang was a wolf-dog, born in the wild cold North. His mother was half wolf, half dog, and his father was a full-blooded wolf. He grew up in the forest, learning to hunt, fight, and survive the cruel snow and ice. The world he knew was hard—only the strong lived, and the weak died. He learned to snarl and bite to protect himself, to run fast to catch food, and to hide from bigger, fiercer animals.
One day, White Fang met Gray Beaver, a Native American man. Gray Beaver caught him and took him to the human village. For the first time, White Fang lived with humans. He did not understand their ways, and he hated being tied up. The village dogs bullied him, and he had to fight them every day. He became a fierce fighter, winning every battle, and the dogs soon feared him. Gray Beaver was proud of his strength and kept him close.
White Fang learned to obey humans, but his heart was still wild. He loved the forest, the wind, and the freedom of running alone. Yet he also learned to trust Gray Beaver, who was kind to him sometimes, giving him food and a warm place to sleep. Life in the village was different from the wild—there was food every day, but no freedom. White Fang was caught between two worlds: the wild where he was born, and the human world that now held him.
As the months passed, White Fang grew bigger and stronger. His yellow eyes were sharp, and his teeth were like knives. All in the village knew him, and all feared him. But he was loyal to Gray Beaver, the first human who had ever shown him a little kindness. He would stand by Gray’s side, snarl at anyone who came near, and protect his master with his life.

A.He hated Gray Beaver but couldn’t escape.
B.He loved the wild but also trusted humans.
C.He won all fights but was still afraid of dogs
D.He had food in the wild but freedom in the village.
4.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.White Fang beat all village dogs.
B.White Fang’s hard life in the wild North.
C.Gray Beaver caught White Fang for strength.
D.White Fang’s life from wild to human village
5.What can we infer from the passage about White Fang?
A.He would give up food for endless freedom completely.
B.Kindness from humans can win his loyalty though he is wild.
C.He never felt happy when he stayed in the human village.
D.He wanted to kill Gray Beaver and go back to the forest.
Passage 7
“Mom! I’m here!” I run to Mom’s car quickly. The wind takes away my voice.
“You made it!” Mom says, but her voice is not happy. She looks into the darkened sky.
BLAM! Something hits the car hard. Then I see a big hawk(鹰). “I couldn’t stop in time. That hawk flew right into us.” Mom cries.
I reach out and catch the hawk before it can fall to the ground. It’s so soft, so warm.
“Is it…? Is it…?…dead?” I ask.
The hawk isn’t moving. There’s a knot in my throat, and I can’t speak. “We have to get out of this wind!” Mom says. We arrive home an hour later. I jump out of the car and look at the hawk through the back window.
“It’s alive! I saw the head move!” I say. “Let’s name it Stormy.”
The next day, the sun is shining, and the sky is blue. I run to check on Stormy. Stormy is against the backseat of the car. One wing is hurt. “Now let’s get Stormy to the wildlife center.” Mom says.
After reaching the center, two people carrying a big cage come around the side of the building. “I’m Bev, and this is Alfredo,” the woman says. Bev asks questions about where and when Stormy hit our car. She records Stormy’s information. “OK, let’s get Stormy inside!”
I follow close behind. “Sorry, no visitors,” Bev says when they reach the door. “Hawks are wild animals. We limit human contact (接触) so they have a better chance of surviving when we let them go back into the wild.” I feel sad, but I have to do what’s best for Stormy.
On the last day before school starts, Alfredo says the center will let Stormy go back into the wild this evening and invites me to watch. I focus my binoculars on the open end of the cage. Stormy sticks her head out, then goes back inside. Five minutes pass before Stormy jumps out. She opens and closes her wings. She takes two steps forward and looks around again. Finally, Stormy flies away! She circles overhead, flying higher and higher. She’s beautiful!
“Go, Stormy! ▲ “ I say, waving goodbye.

【点拨8】NOT true 题型的反向排除——以 Passage 2 题 3 为例:原文写道“Scientists say that if we don’t take action soon, polar bears may disappear from the earth by the end of this century”,说的是“本世纪末”而非“今年年底”。

Passage 7
