B While having Chinese classes, we are often amazed at how beautiful the ancient Chinese poems and articles are. However, these ancient texts can be quite difficult sometimes. It’s challenging for many of us to understand them. Here is good news for us. Recently, a college research team from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province has created “Xunzi” to help with the understanding of Chinese ancient books and research on them. Xunzi is a large language model (LLM) which includes a great number of Chinese ancient books and documents, like the collections of the “Complete Library in Four Sections”. It uses deep learning techniques and big data sets, and collects more than two billion Chinese characters and words. This LLM was named after Xunzi because he was not only a famous philosopher during the Warring States Period, but also a pioneer in presenting and explaining theories of linguistics in ancient China. With the model, researchers can quickly summarize the ancient texts in order to know about the themes of the ancient books. It can also find key information from the ancient texts, such as characters, events and places. Last but not least, the model can help researchers translate the ancient texts into modern Chinese to fully understand them. “The research on traditional Chinese classics is hard work even for professors, let alone for common learners. We just hope Xunzi can help save some time and energy for people,” said Wang Dongbo, who led the research team. The LLM has been published on websites like [github.com] (https://github.com), allowing users to download and use it for free. 19.How do ancient Chinese texts feel without the help of technology? A.Convenient. B.Easy. C.Hard. D.Interesting. 20.How many advantages of Xunzi are mentioned in Paragraph 3? A.Two. B.Three. C.Four. D.Five. 21.Which of the following is NOT true about Xunzi? A.It includes plenty of Chinese ancient books. B.It helps people save time and energy. C.It was named after an ancient philosopher. D.Users need to pay much money to use it. 22.What is the purpose of the passage? A.To introduce a useful language model. B.To ask people to study Chinese culture. C.To show the beauty of ancient Chinese texts. D.To talk about a research team’s work. C Huang Xuhua was a great scientist in China. People call him the “Father of China’s Nuclear Submarines (核潜艇)”. Actually, to stay cool and comfortable, you can try lots of natural ways, including water, fans, cool drinks, and more. Here let’s see how to use water to cool down. Drink water more often. Your body will feel cooler if you do that. Try drinking at least eight bottles of water every day. Adding orange, lemon, or tomato pieces to your water makes it more refreshing. Run cold water over your wrists (手腕). Wet your wrists and other parts, such as your neck and your inner elbows, with cool water for 10 seconds each. This will lower your temperature for a little bit. This can be especially helpful for cooling down right before you go to bed. Fill your bathtub (浴缸) with cool water and get in. It helps us learn faster and live better. But memory is not a gift; it is a skill that everyone can improve. In my opinion, three methods work best. First, pay attention in class. Many people forget things just because they do not listen carefully. Second, review in time. Our brain forgets fast, so we should repeat what we have learned within 24 hours. Third, use pictures and stories. When we connect new words with funny pictures, they stay in our mind longer. As for me, I keep a memory diary and retell my lessons to my parents every night. I believe that with good habits, everyone can have a wonderful memory.
