With pleasure / My pleasure、That’s all right / That’s right、Never mind / Don’t mention it 等高频易混项。
Not only…but also…、Only in this way can we…
Here/There/Now/Then/Out/In/Up/Down/Away+
Here comes the school bus.
Out rushed the children when the bell rang.
On the top of the hill stands an old temple.
In front of the classroom sat a young teacher.
3. There be 及变体
There+be/seem/appear/live/stand/lie/exist/remain+
There once lived an old fisherman by the sea.
There stands a stone bridge over the river.
4. so/neither/nor 呼应
So/Neither/Nor+be/助动词/情态动词+主语
—I enjoy English songs. —So do I. ——我喜欢英文歌。
He can’t swim. Neither can his sister.
Never/Seldom/Rarely/Hardly/Scarcely/Little/Nowhere/Few+be/助动词/情态动词+主语+谓语
Never have I seen such a wonderful performance.
Little did he know that danger was near.
6. not only…but also…
Not only+be/助动词+主语+谓语…,but (also)+主语+谓语…
Not only does he sing well, but he also dances beautifully.
Not only was the meal cheap, but it was also delicious.
7. not until…
Not until midnight did he finish his homework.
Not until the rain stopped did the children go out.
8. no sooner…than…
hardly…when…
No sooner+had+主语+done…than…
Hardly/Scarcely+had+主语+done…when…
No sooner had we got to the station than the train left.
Hardly had he sat down when the phone rang.
Only in this way can we learn English well.
Only when you try can you know your ability.
10. so/such…that…
So+adj./adv.+be/助动词+主语+that…
Such+be+主语+that…
So excited was she that she couldn’t say a word.
Such was his courage that everyone admired him.
Were+主语+…/Had+主语+done…/Should+主语+do…
Were I you, I would accept the invitation.
Had he left earlier, he would have caught the train.
12. as/though
Child as he is, he knows a lot.
Hard as he tried, he couldn’t open the door.
所以“Here it comes.”(代词主语)、“Here does the bus come.”(加了助动词)都是错句。
I have never seen him before.=Never have I seen him before.;He realized the truth only then.=Only then did he realize the truth.
not only 后的分句倒装,but also 后的分句不倒装;not until 后的主句倒装,until 从句不倒装;no sooner/hardly 后的主句倒装,than/when 从句不倒装。
On the wall hang two pictures.(hang 随 two pictures 用复数);Here comes the teacher and two students.(就近原则,随 the teacher 用单数);There is a pen and two books on the desk.(就近原则)。
方位副词句首站,谓语整体往前搬;
否定 only so such 前,助动词来主语换;
not only 倒、but 不倒,not until 只管主句那半边;
if 省略 were、had、should,as/though 让步表语先;
How do you do?/Nice to meet you./Say hello to your parents for me.
Nice to meet you, too./How do you do?/Sure, I will.
“How are you?”误答“How do you do?”;被介绍后误答“Thank you.”
2
Have a good trip!/Good luck!/Take care!/Congratulations!
Thanks. The same to you./Thank you./Thanks, you too.
“The same to you”误用于对方不适用同一祝愿时;Congratulations 误用于未发生的事
3
Thank you for your help./Thanks a lot./I’m grateful for your advice.
You’re welcome./It’s my pleasure./Not at all./That’s OK.
With pleasure(答应请求)与 My pleasure(应答感谢)混用;Don’t mention it 误答道歉
4
I’m sorry for being late./I apologize for the mistake./Excuse me.
That’s all right./It doesn’t matter./Never mind./Forget it.
That’s right(同意观点)与 That’s all right(应答道歉)混用;Never mind 误答感谢
5
Could/Would you please…?/May I…?/Do you mind if I…?
Sure./Go ahead./Of course not.(表同意)/I’m afraid not.(表拒绝)
Do you mind…? 答“Not at all”是同意,答“Yes”是拒绝;“Yes, you could”不合习惯
6
Can I help you?/Shall I carry it for you?/Would you like me to…?
Yes, please./No, thanks./That’s very kind of you.
“Yes, I can.”(答能力)误答提供帮助;“No, I don’t.” Would you like…
7
Would you like to…?/How about…?/Why not join us?
I’d love to./That sounds great./I’d love to, but…
“Yes, I’d like.”
Why don’t you…?/You’d better…/Shall we…?/Why not…?
Good idea./That sounds great./I’ll take your advice.
“Why not?”
I think…/In my opinion…/I’m afraid…
I couldn’t agree more./I’m afraid I can’t agree./I don’t think so.
“I couldn’t agree more”意为“完全同意”,非“不同意”;生硬否定 I disagree 不合得体原则
10
Hello, may I speak to…?/Who’s that?/Hold on, please.
Speaking./This is … speaking./Hold on a moment, please.
电话中误用“Who are you?”/“I am…”;应用“Who’s that?”/“This is…”
11
What can I do for you?/May I take your order?/How much is it?
I’m just looking, thanks./I’d like…, please./The bill, please.
Help yourself(就餐)误用于购物;How many 与 How much 混用
12
Excuse me, how can I get to…?/What’s the matter with you?
Go along this street and turn left./I’ve got a headache.
Take it easy(安慰)与 Take your time(不急)混用;Go ahead 与 Go along 混用
口诀一(感谢·道歉):“感谢答语找 pleasure,My pleasure 应答谢,With pleasure 答应求;道歉答语找 matter,It doesn’t matter 最稳妥,That’s all right 也不错。”
口诀二(请求·许可):“Could/May I 来提问,Sure、Go ahead 来应允;Do you mind 来试探,Not at all 才是同意,Yes 反而是婉拒。”
I’d love to, but…;建议赞同 Good idea,反问 Why not?
口诀四(祝愿·电话):“祝愿回句 The same to you;电话自称 This is…,问人只用 Who’s that?”
Never before ________ such a wonderful performance in our school hall.
A. we have watched B. have we watched C. we watched D. did we watch
2. Only when you have finished your homework ________ to go out to play.
A. you are allowed B. are you allowed C. you will allow D. will you allow
only 修饰状语从句 when you have finished your homework 并置于句首,主句须用部分倒装,把 be 动词或助动词提到主语之前,排除 A、C 两项;you 与 allow 之间是被动关系,应用 be allowed to do 结构,排除 D 项。
Only he knows the answer.(只有他知道答案)。
1. Here ________ the bus we have been waiting for.
A. comes B. come C. is coming D. has come
【答案】A
故选 A。
2. — I can’t swim. — Neither ________ my brother.
A. can B. does C. is D. did
【答案】A
故选 A。
3. So loudly ________ that everyone in the hall could hear him.
A. he spoke B. did he speak C. he did speak D. spoke he
4. ________, he would have passed the driving test.
A. If he practised more B. Had he practised more
C. He had practised more D. Should he practise more
If he had practised more;省略 if 后把 had 提到主语之前,构成 Had he practised more。
5. Hardly ________ the classroom when the bell rang for the break.
A. he had entered B. had he entered C. he entered D. did he enter
注意与之同义的 no sooner…than…
1. — Thank you for helping me with my heavy bag.
— ________.
A. With pleasure B. It’s my pleasure C. Never mind D. Don’t worry
It’s my pleasure 意为“这是我的荣幸”,用于回应别人的感谢;With pleasure 意为“非常乐意”,用于答应别人的请求;Never mind 用于安慰或回应道歉;Don’t worry 用于宽慰对方。
My pleasure / It’s my pleasure(不客气)。
2. — Would you mind my opening the window? It’s a bit hot here.
— ________.
A. Yes, please B. Of course not
C. No, I wouldn’t like to D. Never mind
【答案】B
【详解】考查 Would you mind…? Would you mind…? Of course not / Not at all / Certainly not;表示拒绝时用 I’m afraid… 或 Yes, I do mind。
Do you mind…?/Would you mind…? 的答语是“反着答”的典型:答 No / Not at all=同意(不介意);答 Yes=拒绝(介意)。
3. — Why not join us for a walk after supper?
— ________. I need some fresh air.
A. I’m afraid not B. That sounds great C. You’re welcome D. Not at all
Why not…? That sounds great / Good idea / I’d love to;后句 I need some fresh air
【点睛】Why not…?
1. — Have a nice weekend, Lucy!
— ________.
A. The same to you B. You’re welcome C. It’s kind of you D. Never mind
【答案】A
The same to you。 故选 A。
2. — I’m afraid I can’t come to your birthday party tomorrow.
— ________. I’ll save you a piece of cake.
A. What a pity B. Don’t mention it C. Take it easy D. Go ahead
【答案】A
故选 A。
3. — Could you tell me how to get to the city library?
— ________. Go along this street and turn left at the second crossing.
A. It doesn’t matter B. No problem C. You’re welcome D. That’s right
4. — I’ve got a bad cold and a headache.
— ________. You’d better see a doctor.
A. Congratulations B. Never mind
C. I’m sorry to hear that D. That’s all right
I’m sorry to hear that,再给出建议,与后文衔接自然。
5. — Shall I give you a ride to the airport?
— ________. It’s very kind of you.
A. Yes, please B. No, thanks C. Never mind D. Don’t bother
【答案】A
Shall I…? It’s very kind of you 故选 A。
1. Never ________ such a heavy rain in this area since 1998.
A. we have seen B. have we seen C. we saw D. did we see
2. Look! Here ________!
A. the teacher comes B. comes the teacher
C. does the teacher come D. the teacher does come
3. — I don’t like coffee. — ________.
A. So do I B. Neither do I C. So I don’t D. Neither I do
4. Only after the exam ________ how much time he had wasted.
A. he realized B. did he realize C. he did realize D. realized he
5. So ________ that she couldn’t fall asleep last night.
A. she was excited B. excited she was C. excited was she D. was she excited
6. ________ he is, he knows a lot about Chinese tea culture.
A. A child as B. Child as C. As child D. Child though
as 引导让步状语从句时,表语提前且名词前不加冠词,即“Child as he is”。
7. — Would you mind opening the window? — ________.
A. Yes, please B. Of course not
C. No, I wouldn’t like to D. Never mind
【答案】B
【详解】考查 Would you mind…? Would you mind…? Of course not / Not at all。故选 B。

5. Nowhere else in the world ________ you find such beautiful scenery.
【答案】can
nowhere else 置于句首,句子用部分倒装,需借助情态动词,故填 can(或 could/will)。
6. On the top of the hill ________ (stand) an old temple.

B
When I first walked into the English Corner, I wanted to run away.
I was a Grade 10 student who could answer every grammar question on the paper but could hardly say a sentence aloud. In class I kept my head down; in the corridor I walked faster when I saw our foreign teacher coming. I told myself that my pronunciation was too poor to be heard.
The English Corner was held every Friday afternoon in the school garden. That first day I stood behind a tree for ten minutes, watching others laugh and talk. A girl in a red scarf noticed me and waved me over. “You look like you’re hiding,” she said. “I did the same last term.”
Her name was Chen Jie. She told me that she had once cried after a two-minute speech because she forgot every word in the middle. “But nobody remembered my mistakes,” she said. “They only remembered that I tried.”
That afternoon I said only seven sentences. Seven. But Chen Jie clapped after each one.
Over the next months, I learned something no textbook had taught me: a conversation is not an exam. Nobody is marking your grammar. People listen because they want to know what you think, not how perfectly you say it.
Last week, a new student stood behind the same tree. I walked over and asked, “First time here?” She nodded, her face red. “Don’t worry,” I said. “I hid behind this tree too.” Then I told her the sentence Chen Jie once told me.
11. How did the author feel when first arriving at the English Corner?
A. Excited. B. Nervous. C. Bored. D. Angry.
12. What does the underlined word “hiding” in Paragraph 3 suggest?
A. Playing a game with friends. B. Standing aside to avoid being noticed.
C. Looking for something lost. D. Waiting for the foreign teacher.
13. Why did Chen Jie share her own experience with the author?
A. To show off her speech. B. To warn the author of difficulties.
C. To encourage the author to have a try. D. To explain the rules of the corner.
14. What did the author learn from the English Corner?
A. Grammar matters more than speaking. B. Speaking is about communicating, not being perfect.
C. Mistakes should be avoided in public. D. Textbooks are of no use at all.
15. What would be the best title for the text?
A. Seven Sentences That Changed Me B. How to Improve Pronunciation
C. A Tree in the School Garden D. My Foreign Teacher
B 12. B 13. C 14. B 15. A

With pleasure / My pleasure、That’s all right / That’s right、Never mind / Don’t mention it 等高频易混项。
Not only…but also…、Only in this way can we…

Out rushed the children when the bell rang.
On the top of the hill stands an old temple.
In front of the classroom sat a young teacher.
3. There be 及变体
There+be/seem/appear/live/stand/lie/exist/remain+
There once lived an old fisherman by the sea.
There stands a stone bridge over the river.
4. so/neither/nor 呼应
So/Neither/Nor+be/助动词/情态动词+主语
—I enjoy English songs. —So do I. ——我喜欢英文歌。
He can’t swim. Neither can his sister.
Never/Seldom/Rarely/Hardly/Scarcely/Little/Nowhere/Few+be/助动词/情态动词+主语+谓语
Never have I seen such a wonderful performance.
Little did he know that danger was near.
6. not only…but also…
Not only+be/助动词+主语+谓语…,but (also)+主语+谓语…
Not only does he sing well, but he also dances beautifully.
Not only was the meal cheap, but it was also delicious.
7. not until…
Not until midnight did he finish his homework.
Not until the rain stopped did the children go out.
8. no sooner…than…
hardly…when…
No sooner+had+主语+done…than…
Hardly/Scarcely+had+主语+done…when…
No sooner had we got to the station than the train left.
Hardly had he sat down when the phone rang.
Only in this way can we learn English well.
Only when you try can you know your ability.
10. so/such…that…
So+adj./adv.+be/助动词+主语+that…

方位副词句首站,谓语整体往前搬;
否定 only so such 前,助动词来主语换;
not only 倒、but 不倒,not until 只管主句那半边;
if 省略 were、had、should,as/though 让步表语先;
