【答案】11.B 12.C 13.A
W: Jack, how did you get to school when you were in primary school?
M: I lived close to my school, so I walked every day. Why?
W: Well, I remember that when we were kids, we often walked, rode a bike or caught the bus to school. Few of us were dropped off at the school gate by our parents.
M: I see what you mean. These days, you can see traffic jams around schools at drop-off and pick-up times, but it’s hard to blame the parents. They have good reasons for driving their kids to school, mostly to do with safety and convenience.
W: You have a point there, but it could also mean children are missing out on much-needed exercise and other life skills. Some parents are just being overprotective with their children learning nothing but living in fear of everything. Studies have found that children who spend more time outside tend to be healthier, better adjusted and better at dealing with stress.

A.It makes the police more qualified.
B.It results in lower crime rates.
C.It improves laws and rules.
What is the man going to do next?
A.Give a supporting example.
B.List the benefits of education.
C.Talk to his uncle.
【答案】14.A 15.B 16.B 17.A
W: Today we’ll talk about education. Education is important. What difference does it make to have an educated population?
M: I suppose it means more college students like us having jobs, Professor Lee.
W: That’s correct, but there’s more to it. When people are educated, they contribute more effectively to the economy. They think more deeply, which means new ideas, new businesses and more growth.
M: So it’s not just about having degrees, but using that knowledge creatively.
W: Exactly.
M: I see. But does an educated population make countries better places to live?
W: Yes, studies have shown that higher education levels are linked to lower crime rates. Education often promotes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which help people make reasonable decisions.
M: So education isn’t just about jobs. It’s about creating a safer and nicer society.
W: Exactly. Now can you come up with some examples in your life to show the benefits of education?
M: Yes, I have a good example in my family. It’s about my uncle.

Hello, class. In four weeks, you are going to graduate, but I want to talk to you about education. Education doesn’t stop when you leave school, and I don’t just mean further education at university or college. I’m talking about lifelong learning.
Whether it’s picking up a new skill, mastering deeper knowledge, or exploring new subjects, continuous learning not only makes our lives colorful, but also keeps our brains active. Learning about new cultures, history, and technology deepens our understanding of the world.
Learning can happen anywhere, not just in classrooms. You can learn through online courses, reading books, or talking to people. Learning doesn’t have to be formal; it can be part of your daily life.
Also, keeping on improving your skills will enable you to fit in at work sooner and make quicker progress. Employers will value workers who are willing to adapt and develop their skills.
So remember, it’s never too late to learn something new. Every step counts.
Four Film Reviews
Rule Breakers (2025)
Rule Breakers uses a robotics competition to tell a powerful story about education. It follows some Afghan girls who fight against unfair social rules to follow their dreams of learning technology. The film shows that girls should have the same chance to get education as boys, and it teaches us that being strong and not giving up is important for learning.
Fekete pont (2024)
Fekete pont talks about the problems in some old-fashioned school systems. It asks a key question: What do we lose when schools only want students to follow rules, not to be curious? The film shows teachers and students stuck in rigid school rules, and how these rules stop students from thinking critically. But it also shows small acts of fighting back — like a teacher trying a new way to teach — that can make learning fun again.
The Furious Teacher (2024)
This funny Spanish film tells a true story about education and connection. It’s about a former private school teacher who goes to a public school with at-risk students. Instead of using normal lessons, he teaches them chess — and in doing so, he changes their lives. The film has funny parts, like when people mix up words while talking, but it never makes light of its main message; every student is worth noticing.
Nuclear Amoeba (2025)
Nuclear Amoeba is a great film about changing bad school systems around the world. It shows students from different countries fighting against old, boring ways of teaching. The film says education should help people find out who they are, not just make them follow rules. It tells personal stories of students discovering new things about themselves, and connects these stories to bigger problems in education.
What is the main message of Rule Breakers?
A.Schools should focus on following rules. B.Only boys can join robotics competitions.
C.Everyone deserves access to education. D.Chess is a good way to teach students.
Which film tells the story of using a special game to help at-risk students?
A.Rule Breakers. B.The Furious Teacher.
C.Fekete pont. D.Nuclear Amoeba.
What do the four films have in common?
A.They are based on true stories. B.They criticize Afghan social rules.
C.They use humor to spread messages. D.They focus on education-related issues.

(本题10分)At a primary school in Takeo province’s Tram Kok District, the students in Grade One read aloud from their storybooks, copying the movements of animals in the story. With arms stretched wide like wings, they fly with excitement, their faces lit up with joy as they bring each sentence to life.
This is thanks to an Early Grade Learning initiative, which is to tackle constant learning challenges among early grade learners of primary education and was introduced by the Ministry of Education of Cambodia (柬埔寨), with support from UNICEF.
In Cambodia, despite significant progress in education, most students fail to meet the minimum proficiency (能力) levels in essential skills like reading and mathematics. National learning assessments for Grade Six in 2021 revealed 45 per cent of students were below basic proficiency in Cambodian and 75 per cent were below basic proficiency in mathematics.
Now, instead of relying only on traditional textbooks and learning, teachers use structured and engaging learning tools that make learning both more fun and more effective. New student books, writing practice books, storybooks, flashcards, and colourful classroom visuals help students master Cambodian letters and sounds in a step-by-step way.
Alongside the introduction of the new teaching materials, all Grade One teachers, primary school directors, and school mentors (导师) from Tram Kok District participated in training on EGR instruction methods, facilitation skills and classroom management.
“There were times when I felt confused about what and how to teach, and I was never sure if my pronunciation or explanations were correct,” teacher Nop Chankev says. “But now, with systematic lesson plans and well-designed materials, my lessons have a much clearer flow, and the students are able to follow along much more easily. After completing the teacher training, I feel I have the ability to prepare and deliver my classes successfully.”
“In the past, when external support ended, the programmes often stopped as well,” says Say Nak, a school director and master mentor overseeing several schools in Tram Kok District. “But now, with ongoing training, mentoring, materials, and teaching methods in place, support continues at the school level.”
What is described in paragraph 1?
A.A traditional teacher-led lesson. B.A colourful after-school activity.
C.A lively classroom learning scene. D.A challenge for early grade learners.
What is the purpose of paragraph 3?
A.To provide background information. B.To comment on the former situation.
C.To raise a new topic for discussion. D.To detail a recently launched program.
What was the feature of previous early grade education in Tram Kok District?
A.Little external support was provided.
B.Learning tools weren’t well structured.
C.There weren’t enough mentors at school.
D.Students disliked Cambodian letters.
How does the teacher training affect Nop Chankev?
A.It allows him to get a pay raise.
B.It reduces his interaction with students.
C.It inspires him to change his profession.
D.It increases his confidence in teaching.
【答案】24.C 25.A 26.B 27.D
根据第一段 “At a primary school in Takeo province’s Tram Kok District, the students in Grade One read aloud from their storybooks, copying the movements of animals in the story. With arms stretched wide like wings, they fly with excitement, their faces lit up with joy as they bring each sentence to life.(在茶胶省特兰科克地区的一所小学,一年级的学生们大声朗读故事书,并模仿故事里动物的动作。他们像翅膀一样张开双臂,兴奋地“飞翔”,让每句话都变得生动起来,脸上洋溢着喜悦)”可知,第一段描述的是一年级学生在课堂上生动学习的场景。故选C。
25.推理判断题。根据第三段“In Cambodia, despite significant progress in education, most students fail to meet the minimum proficiency levels in essential skills like reading and mathematics. National learning assessments for Grade Six in 2021 revealed 45 per cent of students were below basic proficiency in Cambodian and 75 per cent were below basic proficiency in mathematics.(在柬埔寨,尽管教育取得了显著进步,但大多数学生在阅读和数学等基本技能方面未能达到最低能力水平。2021年六年级全国学习评估显示,45%的学生柬埔寨语基本能力不达标,75%的学生数学基本能力不达标)可知,该段介绍了柬埔寨学生之前在基础技能上存在的问题,为后文介绍“低年级学习计划”的推出提供了背景信息。故选A。
根据第四段中“Now, instead of relying only on traditional textbooks and learning, teachers use structured and engaging learning tools that make learning both more fun and more effective.(现在,教师不再仅仅依赖传统课本和学习方式,而是使用结构化且有趣的学习工具,让学习既有趣又高效)可知,过去当地低年级教育的特点是学习工具缺乏结构化。故选B。
根据第六段“ “There were times when I felt confused about what and how to teach, and I was never sure if my pronunciation or explanations were correct,” teacher Nop Chankev says. “But now, with systematic lesson plans and well-designed materials, my lessons have a much clearer flow, and the students are able to follow along much more easily. After completing the teacher training, I feel I have the ability to prepare and deliver my classes successfully.”(Nop Chankev老师说:“有时候我对教什么和怎么教感到困惑,我从不确定我的发音或解释是否正确。”“但是现在,有了系统的课程计划和精心设计的教材,我的课程流程更清晰了,学生们也能更容易地跟上。在完成教师培训后,我觉得我有能力成功地准备和讲授课程。”)”可知,培训让教师Nop Chankev对教学更有信心。故选D。
(本题10分)The value of embracing adversity (逆境) is almost always discovered after the fact. This is because it is also a truth that learning in the face of challenge, disappointment and frustration is as important as understanding what it takes to be successful. Learning these lessons well and surviving the tests that the lessons lie in lead to even greater moments of confidence and accomplishment.
Young athletes that are comfortable overcoming adversities are the ones that find the greatest growth, and ultimately the greatest success. Famous strength coach Vern Gambetta and others summarized this concept in the thought that, to be great, you must “be comfortable being uncomfortable”. To put it bluntly (直言地) the best athletes welcome challenge and adversity as a requirement for growth and achievement. The best coaches create environments that challenge limits and take athletes to places they wouldn’t go to on their own, and even create adversity from time to time for this reason.
To sum up, one very basic but exceptionally powerful conclusion can be reached: Young athletes, when facing moments of frustration and challenge in their personal sporting development, must be encouraged to solve problems themselves, work harder to overcome disappointments, and take ownership and control of their own destinies.
In today’s society, unfortunately, eliminating any sign of potential adversity for young athletes is universal (普遍的). Well-intentioned individuals (parents, coaches and many other related adults) frequently try to remove every barrier and challenge on the road their young athlete travels. The unfortunate product of these good intentions is only realized when the athletes finally come to a challenge that they must meet alone and then find themselves completely unprepared to deal with it and have a tough time reviving if they fail to overcome the challenge.
Psychologist Max Trenerry notes that the concept of willingness to accept adversity or failure is important whether for learning new skills in sports or dealing with anxiety-causing thoughts in therapy. He adds that, while every parent may ‘rescue’ their children from time to time, doing so frequently creates bigger long-term complications and prevents growth of personal perseverance.
Which statement will Vern Gambetta probably agree with?
A.Great athletes are good at avoiding adversity.
B.Good learners tend to have ambitious goals.
C.Athletes leading a relaxed life can be more successful.
D.Coaches should bring more challenges to athletes.
Which of the following can replace the underlined word “eliminating” in paragraph 4?
A.Facilitating. B.Creating. C.Removing. D.Welcoming.
What can we infer about the practice of removing adversity for young athletes?
A.It helps athletes build confidence quickly.
B.It may cause long-term problems for athletes.
C.It is supported by most psychologists.
D.It prepares athletes well for future challenges.
What does Max Trenerry think of parents “rescuing” their children frequently?
A.It is harmful to the development of children’s perseverance.
B.It is the best way to protect children from failure.
C.It helps children learn new skills more easily.
D.It reduces children’s anxiety about challenges.
【答案】28.D 29.C 30.B 31.A
根据第二段中“Famous strength coach Vern Gambetta and others summarized this concept in the thought that, to be great, you must “be comfortable being uncomfortable”. To put it bluntly (直言地) the best athletes welcome challenge and adversity as a requirement for growth and achievement. The best coaches create environments that challenge limits and take athletes to places they wouldn’t go to on their own, and even create adversity from time to time for this reason.( 著名的力量教练Vern Gambetta和其他人总结了这个概念,认为要想变得伟大,你必须“适应不舒服”。
根据第四段划线单词后文“Well-intentioned individuals (parents, coaches and many other related adults) frequently try to remove every barrier and challenge on the road their young athlete travels.( 善意的个人(父母、教练和许多其他相关的成年人)经常试图消除他们的年轻运动员在旅途中的每一个障碍和挑战。)”
根据第四段中“The unfortunate product of these good intentions is only realized when the athletes finally come to a challenge that they must meet alone and then find themselves completely unprepared to deal with it and have a tough time reviving if they fail to overcome the challenge.( 这些良好意愿的不幸结果只有在运动员最终面临挑战时才会意识到,他们必须独自面对挑战,然后发现自己完全没有准备好应对它,如果他们不能克服挑战,他们将很难恢复。)”
根据最后一段“Psychologist Max Trenerry notes that the concept of willingness to accept adversity or failure is important whether for learning new skills in sports or dealing with anxiety-causing thoughts in therapy. He adds that, while every parent may ‘rescue’ their children from time to time, doing so frequently creates bigger long-term complications and prevents growth of personal perseverance.( 心理学家Max Trenerry指出,愿意接受逆境或失败的概念是很重要的,无论是在学习体育运动中的新技能还是在治疗中处理引起焦虑的想法。他还说,虽然每个父母都会时不时地“拯救”自己的孩子,但这样做往往会造成更大的长期问题,并阻碍个人毅力的培养。)”可推知,Max Trenerry 明确表示,频繁“拯救”孩子会造成更严重的长期问题,阻碍孩子毅力的培养。故选A项。
(本题10分)Is early intensive (高强度) training the key to becoming a world-class performer? The career of tennis champion Novak Djokovic — who started at four and joined a tennis academy at 12 and won his first major title at 20 — seems to be like that. However, a study published in Science which might be against the common idea suggests this path may be the exception rather than the rule, revealing that true superstars often develop quite differently.
Led by sports scientist Arne-Güllich, the research analyzed data from more than 34,000 elite (精英) performers in several areas, including sports, chess, classical music, and academia. It followed talented youngsters into their professional, adult careers.
When they examined the data, a striking pattern emerged. In every field studied, elite youth performers and elite adults formed almost entirely separate groups. About 90% of adult superstars had not been outstanding as children. By contrast, only about 10% of top-level child talents went on to become exceptional adults. The study found that exceptional performance in childhood was not just an unreliable predictor of adult success — the two were actually negatively correlated.
The research also revealed key behavioral differences. Adult superstars maintained broader interests for much longer. Future elite athletes often played multiple sports before specializing, and their performance initially fell behind more focused peers. However, once they specialized, their progress sped up rapidly — what researchers call better “training efficiency”.
Why does this pattern hold? The “search and match” theory suggests exploring various fields helps individuals find their best fit. “Enhanced learning” proposes that diverse experiences improve overall learning ability, making later specialization more effective. The “limited-risk hypothesis (假设)” simply suggests that avoiding early intense focus may prevent burnout and maintain motivation.
Dr Güllich emphasizes that his team is not saying the intensive early training does not work. It is a reliable way to produce highly competent people — just not the truly world-class ones. Sports academies and selective schools, in other words, may want to rethink how they do things.
Why does the author mention Novak Djokovic in paragraph 1?
A.To prove the importance of starting early.
B.To show the weakness of a common idea.
C.To stress a link between talent and fame.
D.To present a popular but later challenged belief.
Who will get better “training efficiency”?
A.A kid who practices piano 8 hours every day from age four.
B.A boy who tries several sports for long and later focus on one.
C.A student who drops all hobbies to focuses on school work.
D.A player who doubles the training time to strengthen skills.
What is the main idea of paragraph 5?
A.The benefits of early specialization.
B.The prevention of burnout in young athletes.
C.The underlying logic of the later excellence.
D.The value of maintaining broader interests.
What does Dr Güllich suggest doing?
A.Doing more research. B.Adjusting current practices.
C.Abandoning early intensive training. D.Identifying child excellence earlier.
根据第一段“Is early intensive training the key to becoming a world-class performer? The career of tennis champion Novak Djokovic — who started at four and joined a tennis academy at 12 and won his first major title at 20 — seems to be like that. However, a study published in Science which might be against the common idea suggests this path may be the exception rather than the rule, revealing that true superstars often develop quite differently.
根据第四段“The research also revealed key behavioral differences. Adult superstars maintained broader interests for much longer. Future elite athletes often played multiple sports before specializing, and their performance initially fell behind more focused peers. However, once they specialized, their progress sped up rapidly — what researchers call better ‘training efficiency’. (研究还发现行为差异:顶尖成年人才保持多元兴趣的时间要长得多。未来的精英运动员在专攻之前通常会参加多项运动,他们的表现最初会落后于那些更专注的同龄人。然而,一旦他们专攻某项运动,他们的进步就会迅速加快——研究人员称之为更好的‘训练效率’。)”可知,更好的“训练效率”指的是长期保持广泛兴趣,先尝试多项运动,之后再专注一项,专精后进步飞速,选项B“A boy who tries several sports for long and later focus on one. (一个男孩长期尝试多种运动,后来专注于一项运动。)”符合该定义的描述。
34.主旨大意题。根据第五段“Why does this pattern hold? The ‘search and match’ theory suggests exploring various fields helps individuals find their best fit. ‘Enhanced learning’ proposes that diverse experiences improve overall learning ability, making later specialization more effective. The ‘limited-risk hypothesis’ simply suggests that avoiding early intense focus may prevent burnout and maintain motivation.
根据最后一段“Dr Güllich emphasizes that his team is not saying the intensive early training does not work. It is a reliable way to produce highly competent people — just not the truly world-class ones. Sports academies and selective schools, in other words, may want to rethink how they do things. (居利希博士强调,他的团队并不是说密集的早期训练不起作用。这是一种培养高素质人才的可靠方式——只是培养不出真正的世界级人才。换言之,体育院校和精英学校可能需要重新思考他们的培养方式。)”可知,居利希博士建议体育院校和精英学校可能需要重新思考他们的培养方式,也就是建议他们调整当前的做法。
(本题12.5分)When my son was a child, he liked to run in our driveway until he fell. He would then turn to me to see if he was hurt. If my face showed worry or if I called out suddenly, he would cry. If I remained calm, he would brush himself off and get back to running.
We’re born to prevent our children from suffering. 37(2.5分) This strong desire has given rise to the popular pushy parenting styles, including the “Helicopter Parent”, who flies to rescue a child in danger, and the “Snowplow Parent”, who flattens blocks in children’s way. As a result, these young kids usually believe that they are not capable of acting on their own, feeding both anxiety and dependence.
38(2.5分) Like a lighthouse guiding sailors without controlling their course, “Lighthouse Parent” offers dependable support and clear rules, while letting kids manage their own challenges. They trust their kids to deal with difficult situations independently, knowing when to step back and how to let them find their own way.
One of the most important changes from being overprotective is to replace our desire to fix problems with the patience to listen. A fix-it mindset is focused on quick solutions. 39(2.5分) It expresses confidence in your child’s ability to cope with challenges, however messy they might be.
Parents can clearly recall the feeling they had when they first held their child. But what we must keep in mind is that with children growing, we must move from the role of boss to that of adviser.
A.Why is he so dependent on me?
B.It is effective to reduce bad emotions.
C.It frees us up and empowers them to develop.
D.We tend to clear up troubles for them by nature.
E.Listening, by contrast, allows emotions to exist fully.
F.Such moments made me reflect on parents’ true role in raising kids.
G.Fortunately, a more measured approach to parenting appears in response.
由上文“When my son was a child, he liked to run in our driveway until he fell. He would then turn to me to see if he was hurt. If my face showed worry or if I called out suddenly, he would cry. If I remained calm, he would brush himself off and get back to running.(我儿子小时候喜欢在我们的车道上跑步,直到摔倒。然后他会转向我,看看自己是否受伤了。如果我的脸上露出担忧或我突然喊出来,他就会哭。如果我保持冷静,他就会拍拍灰尘,继续跑步。)”可知,上文阐述了作者儿子摔倒后观察母亲反应的经历,本空要说明这些经历引发的思考,选项F表示“这样的时刻让我反思父母在养育孩子中的真正角色。”,能承接上文,符合题意。
37.由上文“We’re born to prevent our children from suffering.(我们天生就想要避免孩子遭受挫折。)”以及下文“This strong desire has given rise to the popular pushy parenting styles, including the “Helicopter Parent”, who flies to rescue a child in danger, and the “Snowplow Parent”, who flattens blocks in children’s way.(这种强烈的意愿催生了盛行的强制干预型育儿模式,包括‘直升机式家长’,即遇到危险就赶去救助孩子的家长,以及‘扫雪机式家长’,即铲平孩子前进道路上的阻碍的家长。)”
由下文“Like a lighthouse guiding sailors without controlling their course, “Lighthouse Parent” offers dependable support and clear rules, while letting kids manage their own challenges. They trust their kids to deal with difficult situations independently, knowing when to step back and how to let them find their own way.(就像一座指引水手却不操控其航线的灯塔,‘灯塔式家长’提供可靠的支持与明确的规则,同时让孩子自己应对难题。他们相信孩子能够独立处理困境,懂得何时退让放手,也知道如何让孩子走出属于自己的道路。)”可知,本段介绍了“灯塔父母”这种更适度的育儿方式,选项G表示“幸运的是,作为回应,一种更适度的育儿方式出现了。”,能涵盖本段中心,适合作本段主题句。
39.由上文“A fix-it mindset is focused on quick solutions.(解决问题的心态专注于快速解决方案。)”以及下文“It expresses confidence in your child’s ability to cope with challenges, however messy they might be.(它表达了对孩子应对挑战能力的信心,无论这些挑战有多么混乱。)”
40.由上文“But what we must keep in mind is that with children growing, we must move from the role of boss to that of adviser.(但我们必须记住,随着孩子的成长,我们必须从老板的角色转变为顾问的角色。)”

My principal came by my classroom that morning while I was still hanging a few last-minute posters on the blackboard, and the minute she walked in to wish me luck, I felt extremely unprepared. Fifteen minutes later, the first class of my teaching career would arrive. Nervous and uneasy, I looked down at my clothes — a plain white top with black pants. As a fashion lover, I felt plain, but I wanted my high school students to take me seriously.
My hands were shaking and my forehead was covered in sweat. It hit me that I was only six or seven years older than them. The students were all excited to see each other after the summer break and seemed very curious about who this new teacher was. I reminded myself that I had been preparing for years. I had a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in education. Since the students all liked my activities, our first class went smoothly.
But several days later, something unexpected happened. We were watching a documentary about travelling to Africa. They watched the part of the video I had planned and answered relevant questions. But after the prepared part was over, we still had fifteen minutes left in class. So I decided to let them keep watching.
All of a sudden, the video showed that one female deer was in the process of giving birth. The scene made all the students freeze for a second, and then the whole class started to whisper and discuss. Then a healthy fawn (幼鹿) was born, right before the students’ wide eyes. Though the video was formal science content for biological education, I felt extremely embarrassed and doubted whether it was appropriate for class. I didn’t know how the students would react to the incredible scene. I thought I would never recover from regret.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150左右;
After school, the principal noticed my worry.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The next morning, I walked into the classroom with my heart pounding.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
After school, the principal noticed my worry. She gently pulled me aside and comforted me patiently. She told me that every teacher would meet some unexpected accidents at the beginning of their career, and occasional mistakes were precious lessons for growth instead of embarrassing failures. She added that witnessing the birth of a wild animal was an incredibly rare and special event. Students were just curious and that wasn’t a bad thing actually. Her sincere words swept away my anxiety and self-doubt. Having finally calmed down, I decided to face my students bravely, holding my head high.
The next morning, I walked into the classroom with my heart pounding. To my surprise, all students greeted me warmly as usual. I took a deep breath and asked how they felt about the video. They all shared a view that while animal birth was particularly interesting and, quite frankly, a little odd, it is awe-inspiring in its own way. I stressed that it’s difficult for the new-born animals to survive in the wild and we should minimize disturbance to wildlife. Then I started my new lesson confidently. This experience, which came at a critical turning point in my teaching journey, taught me that the unexpected is part of growth and every setback helps me become a more careful and mature teacher.
