【答案】
Dear Jim,
I’m sorry to hear that you are suffering from heavy pressure these days.
First, I recommend you take exercise regularly, such as jogging or walking outdoors. Sports can release tiredness and cheer you up quickly. Besides, it is wise to share your worries with your family or close friends. Pouring out your worries will stop your negative feelings building up in your heart.
Don’t push yourself too much. It’s normal to feel anxious and a small relaxation can make a big difference.

Engage students with science with these exciting and entertaining experiments! Students will love exploring while also gaining invaluable experience by designing and conducting experiments.
Sunscreen Experiment
Kids often don’t enjoy being told they need sunscreen, so showing its power through demonstration can help them see its value. This science fair project uses simple white beads (珠子) that change color when exposed to UV rays (紫外线) so children can compare the effectiveness of different sunscreen products. Start this experiment by applying some of each sunscreen type on paper and placing both pieces of paper in direct sunlight for several hours.
Sundial (日晷) Experiment
Using a sundial to tell time is a fascinating science activity that helps students gain knowledge of shadows and the movement of sunlight across the sky. Through this hands-on experiment, students gain an opportunity to see how people in previous times knew time without clocks or watches. Start this experiment by asking students to identify an outdoor spot that receives sunlight all day, placing a flat board there, tracing the shadows onto it and noting where the shadows will fall at certain points of the day.
Mineral Experiment
Students learn to identify rocks and minerals through this simple experiment. They use a plate to test the hardness of various common minerals. They also observe how these minerals form crystals (晶体) and how they break apart differently from others. This lesson helps students understand the characteristics and uses of different minerals. Students can even form “companies” and compete to mine different types of rocks with specific features.

As we grow up, it becomes natural for us to lose contact with the hobbies that once were important in our lives. While it’s painful to accept this, the new reality becomes normal for most of us as we face new academic, adult and job responsibilities.
I’ve been dancing since I was four and I plan to continue dancing in college. However, I’ve always feared that dancing will affect my study and eventually become a happy memory of my childhood. After learning about Sommer Gentry’s story, I had an answer.
Sommer Gentry, previously a professor of mathematics at the United States Naval Academy and a coach at the Naval Academy’s Swing Dance Club, is currently a teacher at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Gentry and her husband also started a swing dance community to introduce non-dancers to swing dance.
Through teaching, Gentry was inspired to view dancing from an engineering point of view. She said, “I realized it is an engineering question: How do you dance well with someone? It’d be great to give people mathematical and engineering proofs that they have to dance the way I say.” Gentry investigated the complex haptic (触觉的) communication behind the moves in swing dance and showed that two persons could move in coordination (协调) with pure haptic communication. She entered an exciting area of research which is about engineering, psychology and human motor control.
It’s incredibly inspiring that Gentry was able to intertwine her academic work with her love for dancing. Gentry said, “It means that even when I’m dancing outside, I’m thinking about my research project.”
Gentry found that digging into her academic interest does not mean letting go of her other non-academic ones. Instead, she found a way to include both in her professional life. Just like me, Gentry is a mathematician and dancer, thus, her story resonates (引起共鸣) strongly with me, and I want to be like her in the future.
24.What did the author think of dancing before learning of Gentry’s story?
A.It was too challenging for her. B.It might disappear from her life.
C.It brought her pleasant memories. D.It developed her sense of responsibility.
25.According to the fourth paragraph, which of the following best summarizes the main idea?
A.Gentry chose academics over dancing.
B.Gentry gave up dancing due to its irrelevance to her research.
C.Dancing has no connection to engineering or psychology for Gentry.
D.Gentry viewed dancing as an engineering problem.
26.What does the underlined word in paragraph 5 probably mean?
A.Hardly balance. B.Carefully compare. C.Closely combine. D.Successfully challenge.
27.What can we infer about the author from the last paragraph?
A.She has decided to change her major.
B.She will continue to pursue her hobby.
C.She used to be Sommer Gentry’s student.
D.She originally had little interest in engineering.
【答案】24.B 25.D 26.C 27.B

Microplastics have been discovered in the human heart and its innermost (最内层的) tissues for the first time. While the health effects of this are still unknown, the new study is yet another reminder of how widespread the world’s plastic problem has become within just a century.
In the new study, scientists in China collected cardiac tissue samples (心脏组织样本) from 15 patients undergoing (经历,接受) heart operations, as well as blood samples taken both pre-operation and post-operation. Using a number of different imaging techniques, the team “detected tens to thousands of individual microplastic pieces in most tissue samples”, according to the news.
While it’s clear that operations did introduce microplastics, there was also evidence that the foreign plastics were fixed firmly in the tissues before the patients were laid on the operating table. For starters, all of the blood samples contained microplastics. The blood samples taken post-operation contained microplastics of a smaller size and had more diverse types of plastics. This suggests that some microplastics got into the body during the operation. Out of the tissue samples, the researchers found nine types of plastic in five types of heart tissues. Some of these microplastics were evidently there before any operation took place.
The team identified microscopic particles of poly (聚乙烯微粒), a plastic commonly used to take over from glass, in several heart tissues, which they say “cannot be caused by accidental contact during operations”. Other types of plastic found in the samples are those widely used in clothing, food containers, building and construction.
“The detection of microplastics in a living body is alarming, and more studies are necessary to study why the microplastics appear in the cardiac tissues and the long-term effects of microplastics after the cardiac operation,” the study authors write in their conclusion.
The impact of microplastics on animal health is not widely agreed upon nor fully understood, although evidence is starting to show that it has a harmful effect, unsurprisingly.
31.What do we know about the 15 patients?
A.They had blood diseases. B.They offered images of samples.
C.They had heart problems. D.They suffered from microplastics.
32.Why did blood samples taken post-operation contain more types of plastics?
A.Detection techniques were improved. B.Some blood samples were polluted.
C.Microplastics changed into more types. D.Operations introduced new microplastics.
33.What is the author’s attitude towards the detection of microplastics in cardiac tissues?
A.Concerned B.Indifferent C.Thrilled D.Enthusiastic
34.What is the best title for the text?
A.Researchers confirmed the effect of microplastics
B.Researchers found microplastics in human hearts
C.Microplastics will replace glass in heart operations
D.Microplastics can be used in human heart operations

33.推理判断题。根据第五段中“The detection of microplastics in a living body is alarming (在活体中检测到微塑料是令人担忧的)”可推知,作者对在心脏组织中检测到微塑料持担忧态度。
34.主旨大意题。结合第一段中“Microplastics have been discovered in the human heart and its innermost (最内层的) tissues for the first time.
Being resilient (对困境有承受力的) means adapting well in the face of adversity, and building resilience requires consistent practice. 35 . The journey begins with small, deliberate changes in your daily habits.
Cultivate a growth mindset
Resilient people view adversity as temporary and informational, not as permanent reflections of their worth. Start by reframing negative thoughts: When you encounter a setback, ask “What can I learn from this?” rather than “Why me?” 36 .
Build strong social connections
Isolation (孤独) weakens resilience, while supportive relationships help relieve the pressure we face. Invest time in family, friends, or community groups where you feel understood and valued. 37 . Likewise, offer empathy to others. In doing so, you build a bridge of mutual trust. If your circle is limited, join clubs or volunteer. Even one reliable companion can provide encouragement during tough times.
Prioritize physical self-care
38 . Regular exercise, adequate sleep, and balanced nutrition directly impact your emotional regulation and energy levels. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate workout daily. Establish a consistent sleep schedule to allow your brain to process emotions and recover. When your body is well-nourished and rested, you’ll have a greater physiological capacity to cope with psychological pressure. 39
Resilience involves adapting your strategies when situations change. Break overwhelming problems into smaller, manageable steps and focus on what you can control. Try alternative approaches if initial efforts fail. Equally important, know when to pause and accept that some factors are beyond your influence. These reduce frustration and empower you to navigate uncertainty with creativity and confidence, turning obstacles into negotiable challenges rather than dead ends.
A.Set realistic, achievable daily goals
B.Develop flexible problem-solving skills
C.Share your falls with them, not just your rises
D.Your mind and body are deeply interconnected
E.Like a muscle, it grows stronger with intentional exercise
F.Having some stress is normal and something we all experience
G.This shift in perspective reduces helplessness and encourages active problem-solving

第三部分 书面表达(共两节,32分)
第一节(共4小题;第40、41题各2分,第42题3分,第43题5分,共12分)
阅读下面短文,根据题目要求用英文回答问题。请在答题卡指定区域作答。
Does AI actually help students learn? A recent experiment in a high school provides a cautionary tale.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that Turkish high school students who had access to ChatGPT while doing practice math problems did worse on a math test compared with students who didn’t have access to ChatGPT. Those with ChatGPT solved 48 percent more of the practice problems correctly, but they ultimately scored 17 percent worse on a test of the topic that the students were learning.
A third group of students had access to a revised version of ChatGPT that functioned more like a tutor. This chatbot was programmed to provide hints without directly giving the answer. The students who used it did spectacularly better on the practice problems, solving 27 percent more of them correctly compared with students who did their practice work without any high-tech aids. But on a test afterwards, these AI-tutored students did no better. Students who just did their practice problems the old fashioned way — on their own — matched their test scores.
The researchers titled their paper, “Generative AI Can Harm Learning,” to make clear to parents and educators that the current crop of freely available AI chatbots can “substantially prevent learning.” Even a fine-tuned version of ChatGPT designed to mimic a tutor doesn’t necessarily help.
The researchers believe the problem is that students are using the chatbot as a “crutch.” When they analyzed the questions that students typed into ChatGPT, students often simply asked for the answer. Students were not building the skills that come from solving the problems themselves.
ChatGPT’s errors also may have been a contributing factor. The chatbot only answered the math problems correctly half of the time. Its arithmetic computations were wrong 8 percent of the time, but the bigger problem was that its step-by-step approach for how to solve a problem was wrong 42 percent of the time. The tutoring version of ChatGPT was directly fed the correct solutions and these errors were minimized.
ChatGPT also seems to produce overconfidence. In surveys that accompanied the experiment, students said they did not think that ChatGPT caused them to learn less even though they had. Students with the AI tutor thought they had done significantly better on the test even though they did not. (It’s also another good reminder to all of us that our perceptions of how much we’ve learned are often wrong.)
ChatGPT is not the first technology to present a tradeoff in education. Typewriters and computers reduce the need for handwriting. Calculators reduce the need for arithmetic. When students have access to ChatGPT, they might answer more problems correctly, but learn less. Getting the right result to one problem won’t help them with the next one.
40.What was the main finding about students who used ChatGPT for math practice?
41.Besides misuse, what other factors may affect the learning outcomes of the students who use ChatGPT?
42.Please decide which part is false in the following statement, then underline it and explain why.
➤When students use ChatGPT to solve problems, they might get more correct answers and learn more.
43.How can you ensure you are still learning rather than just getting answers when using AI tools for schoolwork? (In about 40 words)
【答案】40.They solved more practice problems correctly but scored much worse in the follow-up math test. 41.ChatGPT’s errors and students’ overconfidence. 42.When students use ChatGPT to solve problems, they might get more correct answers and learn more.
According to the passage, students using ChatGPT solved more practice problems but scored worse on tests, and the researchers found generative AI can harm learning. 43.I should ask AI for hints and thinking methods instead of direct answers. I will finish thinking independently first and summarize problem-solving skills after using AI.
【导语】本文主要介绍了研究发现ChatGPT可能损害学生学习,即使作为导师也不一定有帮助,原因包括滥用、错误和过度自信。
【详解】40.考查细节理解。根据第二段“Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania found that Turkish high school students who had access to ChatGPT while doing practice math problems did worse on a math test compared with students who didn’t have access to ChatGPT. Those with ChatGPT solved 48 percent more of the practice problems correctly, but they ultimately scored 17 percent worse on a test of the topic that the students were learning. (宾夕法尼亚大学的研究人员发现,在做数学练习题时使用ChatGPT的土耳其高中生,在数学测试中的表现比不使用ChatGPT的学生差。那些使用 ChatGPT 的学生练习题正确率高出48%,但在对应所学知识点的正式测试中,最终得分反而低了17%。)”可知,使用ChatGPT的学生练习正确率更高,但正式考试成绩明显下滑,不利于真正学习。
41.考查细节理解。根据第六段“ChatGPT’s errors also may have been a contributing factor. The chatbot only answered the math problems correctly half of the time. Its arithmetic computations were wrong 8 percent of the time, but the bigger problem was that its step-by-step approach for how to solve a problem was wrong 42 percent of the time. (ChatGPT的错误也可能是一个因素。聊天机器人只有一半的数学题回答正确。它的算术计算错误率为8%,但更大的问题是它解决问题的步骤方法错误率为42%。)”及第七段“ChatGPT also seems to produce overconfidence. In surveys that accompanied the experiment, students said they did not think that ChatGPT caused them to learn less even though they had. Students with the AI tutor thought they had done significantly better on the test even though they did not. (ChatGPT似乎还会导致过度自信。在实验附带的调查中,学生们表示他们不认为ChatGPT导致他们学得更少,尽管实际上他们学得更少。使用AI导师的学生认为他们在测试中表现得更好,尽管实际上并没有。)”可知,其他因素包括ChatGPT的错误和学生的过度自信。
42.考查细节判断。根据第二段“Those with ChatGPT solved 48 percent more of the practice problems correctly, but they ultimately scored 17 percent worse on a test of the topic that the students were learning.

21.What is the main purpose of using beads in the sunscreen experiment?
A.To compare the prices of sunscreen.
B.To show the effectiveness of sunscreen.
C.To analyze the impact of sunscreen on skin.
D.To demonstrate chemical reactions in sunscreen.
22.How do students begin the sundial experiment?
A.By building a sundial from beginning.
B.By comparing different types of sundials.
C.By measuring the length of their shadows.
D.By identifying a sunny spot and using a flat board.
23.What does the mineral experiment allow students to do?
A.Observe crystal formation. B.Learn geological history.
C.Sell rocks they mine. D.Form companies.

C
Learning a second language
Some people learn a second language easily. Other people have trouble learning a new language. How can you help yourself learn a new language, such as English? There are several ways to make learning English a little easier and more interesting.
The first step is to feel confident about learning English. If you believe that you can learn, you will learn. Be patient. You don’t have to understand everything all at once. It is natural to make mistakes when you learn something new. We can learn from our mistakes.
The second step is to practise your English. For example, write in a diary every day. You will get used to writing in English, and you will feel comfortable expressing your ideas in English. After several weeks, you will see that your writing is improving. Besides, you must speak English every day. You can practise with your classmates after class. You will all make mistakes, but gradually you will become comfortable communicating in English.
The third step is to keep a record of your language learning. You can write this in your diary. After each class, think about what you did. Did you answer a question correctly? Did you understand anything the teacher explained? Perhaps the lesson was difficult, but you tried to understand it. Write these achievements (成就) in your diary.
You must be active in learning English and believe that you can do it. It is important to practise every day and make a record of your achievements. You will enjoy learning English, and you will have more confidence in yourself.
28.When you learn English, you do not need to ________.

A.be patient B.make mistakes
C.express your ideas in English D.understand everything at once
29.What is NOT helpful for you to enjoy learning English?
A.To communicate in English. B.To worry about making mistakes.
C.To think about what you did after each class. D.To make a record of the achievements.
30.What is the main idea of this passage?
A.It is very important to learn English.
B.Some people learn English easily while other people do not.
C.There are ways to help you learn English more easily.
D.Don’t worry about making mistakes when learning English.

第二节 (共5小题;每小题2分,共10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的七个选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。选项中有两项为多余选项。
