A
Good morning, everyone. I am Chen Yue, a 15-year-old student. Today, I’d like to share my story with shadow puppetry (皮影戏). Just like Zhan Haojing in our textbook who protects Minnan puppet shows, I have found my own responsibility in keeping a traditional art alive.
When I was little, I loved watching my grandfather perform shadow puppetry. If he moved his sticks behind the screen, the leather figures would immediately come to life. However, when I became a teenager, I felt less close to it because my classmates thought traditional arts were old-fashioned. I almost gave up practicing it. One day, my grandfather fell ill and could no longer perform. Looking at the silent leather figures in the dusty box, a sense of sadness hit me. I realised that if our generation didn’t take action, this beautiful art would disappear completely.
I decided to bring it back, but I needed a new way. Today’s youth are creative, so I tried to combine traditional shadow puppetry with modern pop culture. I designed new puppets based on popular cartoon characters and wrote stories about school life. Then, I held a performance during our school’s art festival. To my surprise, the students were completely lost in the show. The hall was flooded with warm cheers. After the show, many teenagers expressed their love for the art and wanted to learn it.
This experience made me understand that traditional art is not dead; it just needs a fresh voice. The future of our cultural heritage rests with us young people. It is our duty to shoulder the responsibility and make it shine again.
51.Why did Chen Yue almost give up shadow puppetry?
A.Because she thought it was too difficult to learn.
B.Because her grandfather was too ill to teach her.
C.Because her classmates considered it old-fashioned.
D.Because she was too busy with her schoolwork.
52.What does the underlined word “heritage” in the last paragraph mean?
A.Technology B.Tradition C.Environment D.Friendship
53.What made Chen Yue’s performance successful at school?
A.She invited her grandfather to perform with her.
B.She added modern and popular elements to the show.
C.She gave free cartoon puppets to her classmates.
D.She played a video of Zhan Haojing’s puppet show.
54.What is the author’s main purpose in writing this passage?
A.To show that shadow puppetry is better than other arts.
B.To complain about teenagers who dislike traditional arts.
C.To introduce the long history of Chinese shadow puppetry.
D.To encourage young people to protect traditional culture.
55.What’s the best title for the passage?
A.A Famous Puppet Player B.Shadow Art in Safe Hands
C.The History of Shadow Play D.An Old-fashioned Hobby

Scientists in Brazil have found a new method to clean water. They can use seeds from a tree to clean dirty water. The water often has tiny plastic pieces in it. These are called microplastics. Microplastics are tiny bits of plastic, less than 0. 5 cm long. They can be too small to see. They can get inside the bodies of living things, including humans.
There is a kind of tree called a Moringa tree, which grows well in hot areas and lots of people eat its leaves and seeds. For years, scientists have studied if the seeds can work on microplastics to clean dirty water. Now, they have good news. In their latest study, the team found that a substance (物质) from the seeds was very useful. When they put this substance in the water, the microplastics would stick together. So it was easier to take them out with a filter (滤水器).
The scientists first tested the method on tap water. They added microplastics to the water. Then, they compared their new method with a popular one. The popular method is more harmful to the environment. Surprisingly, both methods cleaned the water well. In some types of water, the Moringa seeds worked even better!
Now, the team is testing the seeds on water that is collected from rivers in Brazil. The results show that this new method works well for river water, too. The scientists say it is a better choice for the environment, because it does not harm nature as the popular method does.
However, more tests are still needed. Scientists want to see if this new method can clean large amounts of water.
76.What have the scientists in Brazil found?
77.How does the substance from the seeds work on microplastics?
78.How is the new method different from the popular one?

have a hard time doing sth.

A.unusual不寻常的;B.especial特别的;C.ordinary普通的。 She is just a student like me"(她只是像我一样的一个学生)可知她是个普通学生。
A.in在...里面;B.on在...上面;C.at在...。" 故选A。
A.calm平静的;B.scared害怕的;C.excited兴奋的。
A.cut down削减;B.cut off切断;C.cut up切碎。
A.felt blue感到难过;B.felt lonely感到孤独;C.felt disappointed感到失望。 故选A。
A.but但是;B.although尽管;C.so因此。
A.actively积极地;B.negatively负面地;C.secretly秘密地。根据后文"studied hard for more than ten hours"(努力学习十多个小时)可知,她是主动积极地回归校园。 故选A。
A.what什么;B.that那个;C.it它。 故选A。
A.curiosity好奇心;B.courage勇气;C.creativity创造力。 Her story deeply touches and encourages me."(她的故事深深地触动和鼓励了我。)
A.encouraging令人鼓舞的;B.determined坚定的,有决心的;C.wounded受伤的。
A
Good morning, everyone.

根据“Stores can’t keep them in stock”与“they are sold out so fast”可知,前后分句之间存在因果关系,后句是前句现象产生的原因,需填入表示原因的连词,方框词里because(因为)引导原因状语从句,符合语境。
根据“Fans post pictures of …
根据“named Kasing Lung first drew it”,画画创作形象的人是艺术家;词库中artist意为 “艺术家”,空格前有不定冠词an,后面接可数名词单数artist。
根据“Some wear fun clothes”,这是固定句型some…others…,表示“一些……
根据“buyers don’t know what color or design they’re getting until they … the box”,盲盒的特点就是拆开盒子才能看见里面的物品;词库中open意为 “打开”,主语是they, until引导时间状语从句,主句描述一般情况,从句用一般现在时,主语they后接动词原形open。
此处缺少名词作介词in的宾语,结合前文“they are sold out very fast”可知,此处强调玩偶售罄的速度很快。
此处缺少副词修饰动词love,结合后文“some even wait in line for hours”可知,粉丝们对这些玩偶十分喜爱。
79.On what water are the scientists testing the seeds now?
80.What is needed for the next step of the study?
76.Seeds can clean water. 77.By making them stick together. 78.It is better for the environment. 79.River water. 80.Testing on large amounts of water.
文章第一段第二句“They can use seeds... to clean dirty water.”
77.文章第二段倒数第二句“When they put this substance in the water, the microplastics would stick together.”
78.文章第三段第四句“The popular method is more harmful to the environment.”以及第四段最后一句“...it is a better choice for the environment...”
79.文章第四段第一句“Now, the team is testing the seeds on water that is collected from rivers in Brazil.”
80.文章最后一段最后一句“Scientists want to see if this new method can clean large amounts... of water.”
