B I started playing the piano when I was four, and since then the longest time I’ve ever gone without touching piano keys was probably two months. This was a lot of efforts concentrated on something that I wasn’t even expecting to be “productive” — I wasn’t going to make money of it — so there must have been something worth holding on to, right? The answer is not a sweet and neat story. I struggled a lot with piano — not just to learn the difficult instrument, but to love it with my whole heart. Anybody who visited my family and played instruments were often placed beside me in competition. I felt pressure to improve and be the best in order to prove something to others, and more terribly, to myself. Therefore, I never felt confident and stable enough inside. But somehow, sometime, the seed of my musical interest was grown in the sunlight of practice, competition, and even lack of confidence. It was deeply buried, hard to reach, but it was there, and by high school, strong enough that when I was seriously considering giving up any kind of formal piano training, I found a strong wish to hold onto it tighter and dig it further. I found something of my own to grow. There was something that made it worthwhile (值得的) for me to fight for my connection to art, although I was still struggling. Then I got incredibly lucky with a new teacher who encouraged me to explore and follow my inner calling, instead of what I was told I should do. I learned music pieces for myself, I composed (作曲) for myself, and I found confidence not because I was “good enough”, but because I knew that anything I had was good enough to be loved. Now piano has become part of me. And I learned that if you started with something you didn’t have a special interest in, remember that with constant efforts, it can take roots. There is always time and room to let love make a home in its place. 24. What does the underlined word “productive” in paragraph 1 mean? A. Interesting. B. Addictive. C. Challenging. D. Fruitful. 25. Why did the author struggle with piano? A. She didn’t love it at all. B. She had to register for competitions. C. She was caught in self-doubt. D. She found it impossible to be the best. 26. What did the author learn from his new teacher? A. She learned to never give up. B. She learned to compose music pieces. C. She learned to go after what she loved. D. She learned to fight for being good enough. 27. What message is conveyed in the text? A. Practice makes perfect. B. Love is a thing that grows. C. Music mends a broken heart. D. Interest is the best teacher. C It’s become an accepted part of keeping up to date with your family and friends, but if schoolchildren were in their parents’ shoes, most of them say they wouldn’t share posts of their sons and daughters online. Over 55% said they would not upload news about, or photos of, their children on their social media, according to survey of over 16,000 pupils by VotesforSchools. While some were worried about being awkward or the long life of content which could remain online, others feared of their personal data being misused. One of the pupils surveyed said, “Although our parents mean well, sometimes the danger brought by sharenting (晒娃) can be huge.” In response to the survey, children’s mental health organization Mishcon de Reya has produced three films ahead of the Christmas holidays — the best period for parental oversharing. In one video, about safety online, 10-year-old Adavan said, “If you share anything with your family, you know who’s going to see it. But if you share it on your social media, there are millions of people who can see your picture.” Joe Hancock, a security leader at Mishcon de Reya, encouraged parents to share wisely. “Simple steps, such as checking your network environment and asking others not to post content of your children on their accounts (账户) if they are not sure about the privacy (隐私) settings, are a good start. And, as we found out from the children during filming, having their permission is key,” he said. The study marks a change from the usual practice of teaching children how to use the Internet safely to warning parents against network dangers. Sandra Davis, head of the organization’s family department, said, “Children are the real and immediate affected side of sharenting. We must ensure we listen to children and take their views into consideration now in order to avoid any unwanted results further down the line.” 28. What’s most pupils’ attitude towards sharing posts about children? A. Unwilling. B. Excited. C. Agreeing. D. Uninterested. 29. What do we know from the second paragraph? A. Parents feel awkward about sharenting. B. Children praise their parents for sharenting. C. Parents care about harmful content on the Internet. D. Children worry about problems brought by sharenting. 30. What should parents first pay attention to according to Joe Hancock? A. Content. B. Safety. C. Accounts. D. Health. 31. What suggestion did Sandra Davis put forward? A. Parents should think about children’s opinions. B. Children must make sure to listen to their parents. C. Children must look out for the impact of sharenting. D. Parents should teach children to use the Internet safely. D Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere in our life. For example, you may have seen AI-created pictures of friends — how they will look in 20 years or how they appear as heroic characters. In fact, an AI chatting robot (chatbot) is a tool to access generative (生成的) AI, and using it feels like having a conversation with someone. When you ask an AI chatbot a question or let it finish a task, it analyzes (分析) millions of data it has stored to give the reply you want. You can even ask it to speak in chatty, funny, or serious styles. Some popular AI chatbots can act as assistants, helping with many tasks — from organizing your to-do list and planning holidays to writing speeches. Using an AI chatbot is not difficult: You just need to create an account and follow the guidelines from your school or employer. However, there are important things to note. First, its answers may sound reasonable, but they are not always true. It may give wrong or even dangerous advice. So you must check its information with reliable sources. Second, never share private or sensitive information with it because your input helps train the AI and may be stored by technology companies forever. Besides, AI chatbots can also be used for cheating. Cheaters may use AI to copy someone’s voice to trick you into sending money. AI-generated texts are usually too perfect without human spelling mistakes, and false house-rental information online may also be created. To stay safe, you should check sources, think about the context, double-check information, and keep up with the latest AI cheating methods. AI chatbots are useful tools, but they are not perfect. Critical (批判性的) thinking is your best choice when you’re using them in an age where seeing or hearing is no longer always believing. 32. Why are AI-created pictures of friends mentioned in the first paragraph? A. To praise AI’s conversation function. B. To show AI’s imagination. C. To praise AI’s predictive ability. D. To show AI’s popularity. 33. What does the author show about AI chatbots in paragraph 2? A. Their hidden risks. B. Their different uses. C. Their simple styles. D. Their confusing questions. 34. How does the author explain the safety problem of AI chatbots in paragraph 3? A. By listing data. B. By asking questions. C. By giving examples. D. By making comparisons. 35. Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. When Will AI Chatbots Replace Human Talks? B. What Are AI Chatbots Exactly? C. How Can AI Chatbots Check Information? D. Why Are AI Chatbots Cheating Tools? How to Help Kids Balance Screen Time and Study Time Raising kids in the digital age can feel like walking a tightrope — on one side, you want to give them the freedom to explore, and on the other, you worry about them tumbling into endless hours of screen time. ___36___ Here are some practical strategies to guide kids toward healthier habits: Encourage physical and offline activities ___37___ Encourage your child to get outside, play sports, or engage in practical activities like drawing or reading. 根据Hot Comedies板块“Tell a joke! Learn why old jokes can be the best! Work with your class to put on a Comedy Show for family and friends!(讲个笑话!了解为什么老笑话也可以是最好的!和同班同学一起为家人和朋友表演一场喜剧秀!)”可知,Hot Comedies课程以讲笑话、演喜剧为主,适合喜爱搞笑故事的人。A项Drama Days是创作场景并表演;B项Acting-Just Acting是塑造角色、编写剧情;D项Summer Scenes是跟随专业演员和导演学习表演,均不侧重搞笑。故选C。 【22题详解】 细节理解题。根据“Important Information”中“Please accompany students to the first day of class.(请陪同学生参加第一天的课程)”可知,学生第一天上课最好不要独自前往。A项错误,原文为“Tuition paid on the first day of class”,学费在上课第一天缴纳,而不是7月2日之前;B项错误,原文为“No tuition refunds for not attending the class”,缺课不予退款;C项错误,原文为“Registration begins one and half an hour before class time”,注册在开课前一个半小时开始,而不是半小时。 A。 B I started playing the piano when I was four, and since then the longest time I’ve ever gone without touching piano keys was probably two months. D 25. C 26. C 27. 根据第一段“This was a lot of efforts concentrated on something that I wasn’t even expecting to be ‘productive’ — I wasn’t going to make money of it — so there must have been something worth holding on to, right?(我投入了大量精力,却并不指望它能有‘成果’——我不打算靠它赚钱——所以一定有某种值得坚持的东西,对吧?)” A. 根据第二段“I felt pressure to improve and be the best in order to prove something to others, and more terribly, to myself. Therefore, I never felt confident and stable enough inside.(我感到有压力,要进步、要做到最好,以便向别人、更糟糕的是向自己证明些什么。因此,我内心从未感到足够自信和稳定。)”及第三段“lack of confidence”可知,作者挣扎的原因是陷入了自我怀疑。A项错误,原文“to love it with my whole heart”说的是难以全心全意爱上钢琴,并非完全不爱;B项错误,文中只提到来访者的乐器演奏会被拿来与作者比较,并没有说必须报名参加比赛;D项错误,文中没有说作者认为自己不可能做到最好。故选C。 【26题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“Then I got incredibly lucky with a new teacher who encouraged me to explore and follow my inner calling, instead of what I was told I should do.(后来我非常幸运地遇到了一位新老师,她鼓励我探索并追随内心的召唤,而不是别人告诉我应该做的事。)” A项“永不放弃”、B项“作曲”只是作者做的事情,D项“为变得足够优秀而奋斗”与原文“not because I was ‘good enough’”相悖。 根据最后一段“if you started with something you didn’t have a special interest in, remember that with constant efforts, it can take roots. There is always time and room to let love make a home in its place.(如果你开始时对某件事并没有特别的兴趣,请记住,只要持续努力,兴趣就能生根。总有时间和空间让爱在其中安家。)”可知,文章传达的信息是热爱是可以慢慢培养、不断生长的。A项“熟能生巧”、C项“音乐治愈伤痛”、D项“兴趣是最好的老师”均偏离文章中心。故选B。 C It’s become an accepted part of keeping up to date with your family and friends, but if schoolchildren were in their parents’ shoes, most of them say they wouldn’t share posts of their sons and daughters online. A 29. D 30. B 31. 根据第一段“Over 55% said they would not upload news about, or photos of, their children on their social media(超过55%的人表示他们不会在社交媒体上上传有关自己孩子的消息或照片)”可知,大多数学生对晒娃的态度是不情愿的。B. 故选A。 根据第二段“While some were worried about being awkward or the long life of content which could remain online, others feared of their personal data being misused... the danger brought by sharenting can be huge.(一些人担心尴尬或内容会在网上长期留存,另一些人则担心个人数据被滥用……晒娃带来的危险可能很大。)”可知,孩子们担心晒娃带来的各种问题。A项错误,感到尴尬的是孩子,不是父母;B项错误,孩子并不称赞父母晒娃;C项错误,本段的主体是孩子的想法,而不是父母。故选D。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段Joe Hancock的话“Simple steps, such as checking your network environment and asking others not to post content of your children on their accounts if they are not sure about the privacy settings, are a good start.(简单的步骤,比如检查你的网络环境,以及在不确定隐私设置时请他人不要在其账号上发布你孩子的内容,是一个好的开始。)” A. 根据最后一段Sandra Davis的话“We must ensure we listen to children and take their views into consideration now in order to avoid any unwanted results further down the line.(我们必须确保倾听孩子的意见,并现在就把他们的观点考虑在内,以避免日后出现任何不想要的结果。)” A。 D Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere in our life. D 33. B 34. C 35. 根据第一段“Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere in our life.(人工智能在我们的生活中无处不在。)” 根据第二段“it analyzes millions of data it has stored to give the reply you want. You can even ask it to speak in chatty, funny, or serious styles. Some popular AI chatbots can act as assistants, helping with many tasks — from organizing your to-do list and planning holidays to writing speeches.” How to Help Kids Balance Screen Time and Study Time Raising kids in the digital age can feel like walking a tightrope — on one side, you want to give them the freedom to explore, and on the other, you worry about them tumbling into endless hours of screen time. ___36___ Here are some practical strategies to guide kids toward healthier habits: Encourage physical and offline activities ___37___ Encourage your child to get outside, play sports, or engage in practical activities like drawing or reading. Balancing screen use with movement keeps the brain and body in sync (同步). ___38___ Kids often mirror their parents’ behaviors. If they see us glued to our phones or laptops all evening, it’s harder to enforce screen limits. Demonstrating mindful tech use — such as putting devices away during conversations or prioritizing offline activities — can encourage them to do the same. Create tech-free zones and times. Having designated no-screen times — such as during family meals, before bed, or while studying — helps reinforce healthy habits. Research shows that screen exposure before bedtime can disrupt sleep. ___39___ A simple rule like “No screens an hour before bed” can make a big difference in sleep quality and overall cognitive (认知的) function. Remember, balance is about guidance, not punishment. ___40___ They’ll be more willing to follow them. Check in regularly to adjust strategies as they grow. With patience, they’ll learn to use screens wisely while nurturing other important parts of life. A. Model healthy screen habits. B. Watch parents’ screen behaviors. C. Have kids take part in setting rules. D. Guidance emphasizes respect to kids. E. Finding the right balance isn’t about strict rules. F. This may cause memory loss and reduced concentration. G. Screen time shouldn’t replace physical activity or social interaction. E 37. G 38. A 39. F 40. 【36题详解】 根据上文“Raising kids in the digital age can feel like walking a tightrope — on one side, you want to give them the freedom to explore, and on the other, you worry about them tumbling into endless hours of screen time.”及下文“Here are some practical strategies to guide kids toward healthier habits”可知,空处应承接上文家长的两难处境,并引出下文的具体策略。 【37题详解】 根据本段小标题“Encourage physical and offline activities”及下文“Encourage your child to get outside, play sports, or engage in practical activities like drawing or reading.” 【38题详解】 空处位于“Kids often mirror their parents’ behaviors...” 根据下文“Kids often mirror their parents’ behaviors... Demonstrating mindful tech use... can encourage them to do the same.” 故选A。 【39题详解】 根据上文“Research shows that screen exposure before bedtime can disrupt sleep.” 【40题详解】 根据上文“Remember, balance is about guidance, not punishment.”及下文“They’ll be more willing to follow them.” Michelle couldn’t have been better prepared for the speech, her first presentation as a college student.
