拓展提高(课内同源 + 课外同源)
Passage1(课内同源:花园里的“悄悄话”)
On Saturday afternoon, Mingming sat in the garden and watched his little dog Coco play. He noticed something interesting: Coco's body was always “talking”. When Mingming picked up the ball, Coco wagged its tail fast and raised its ears — it was saying, “I'm ready! Let's play!” But when a strange cat walked by, Coco put its tail down and lowered its body, warning the cat to keep away. / Mingming's elder sister was reading a book about animals, and she told him another secret: even tiny bees can “talk”. When a bee finds flowers full of honey, it flies back to the hive and dances. A circle dance means the food is near. A waggle dance, shaped like the number eight, shows both the distance and the direction of the food — the bee wags its body towards the food source. / “So the other bees watch the dance and follow the dancer to the flowers?” Mingming asked. “Exactly,” his sister said. “The dance is their language.” / That evening, Mingming wrote in his diary: Animals cannot speak like us, but they have their own ways to send messages. If we watch them patiently, we will find that the world is fuller of conversation than we thought.

Passage2(课外同源:破译蜜蜂舞蹈的人)
Can humans really understand the language of animals? An Austrian scientist named Karl von Frisch proved that the answer is yes. He spent more than twenty years watching a very small “speaker”: the honeybee. / When a bee finds food, it returns to the hive and dances on the honeycomb. Frisch noticed two kinds of dance. The circle dance, a simple round dance, tells the other bees that the food is close by. The waggle dance, shaped like the number eight, carries more information: the straight run in the middle points towards the food source, and the length of the wagging shows how far the bees must fly. / To prove his idea, Frisch designed clever experiments with coloured plates of sugar water. He watched thousands of marked bees again and again, and the results supported his discovery. After years of patient work, the little dance was finally “translated”, and scientists around the world accepted his findings. / In 1973, Frisch won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his research. His story teaches us an important lesson: great discoveries do not always need big animals or loud voices. With patience, careful eyes and years of watching, even the dance of a tiny bee can open a window onto the secrets of nature.

任务四范文:Animals have their own languages, and watching them is great fun. My little dog Coco often wags its tail when it is happy, and it raises its ears when it hears a strange sound. When Coco wants to go out, it stands by the door and barks softly at us. In the park, I also watched birds communicate with each other through songs — one bird sang, and soon others answered from the trees. Bees are even more amazing, because they dance to tell their friends where the food is. These signals may be silent, but they are clear and useful. If we watch animals patiently, we will find that nature is full of conversations.
