Unit 7 Happy Birthday Section B (3a-3d) 教学设计-2026-2027学年人教版英语七年级上册
Unit 7 Happy Birthday!
Section B Project (3a-3d)
I. Teaching Aims
1. Students can say and write the twelve months and the ordinal dates in English, and find out the birthdays in their group and write them on the calendar (3a).
2. Students can ask and answer about birthdays with "When is your birthday? It's on ...", and find out whose birthdays are this month (3b).
3. Students can work out a meaningful way to celebrate the birthdays together and report the group's plan to the class (3c-3d).
II. Key and Difficult Points
1. Key points: the twelve months and the ordinal dates; the question "When is your birthday?" and the answer "It's on ...".
2. Key points: how to put a birthday plan in order with the four questions — when to celebrate, where to celebrate, who to invite and what to do.
3. Difficult points: reading the long months and ordinals correctly; turning the group plan into a short report with "We want to ... because ...".
III. Teaching Tools
1. The student's book (Unit 7, the Project page), a calendar or a big calendar chart drawn on the blackboard.
2. Month cards, date cards, markers and a blank group-calendar sheet for each group.
3. A recording/MP3 player, a dictionary, and a computer or PPT (optional).

IV. Teaching Procedures
Step 1: Lead-in (3 mins)
1. The teacher asks a few students "When is your birthday?" and writes the months on the board to review the months and dates.
2. The teacher shows the Project page and says: today we are going to celebrate our birthdays together in class.
[Purpose] To activate the words for months and dates and to lead into the task of this lesson.
Step 2: Find the birthdays in the group (3a)
1. Students work in groups and ask one another "When is your birthday? It's on ..." one by one.
2. They write the names and the dates on the group calendar, month by month, from January to December.
[Purpose] To practise the target sentences with real information and to collect the birthdays in each group.
Step 3: Find out this month's birthdays (3b)
1. Students look at the group calendar and find out whose birthdays are this month.
2. Some students report to the class: "...'s birthday is on ... this month."
[Purpose] To help students read the calendar and say the dates fluently in English.
Step 4: Plan a meaningful celebration (3c)
1. Each group talks out a plan with the four questions: When do you want to celebrate together? Where do you want to celebrate? Who do you want to invite? What do you
