Leo ___2___ his name made him different-in a bad way.
One day, the school asked everyone to bring a family ___3___ for a history project. Leo dug out an old framed item showing a serious-looking man whose eyes reminded Leo of his grandfather. He worked as a carpenter during the day and ___4___ second-hand books at night. Although others said it was impossible, he never ___5___! 'Every child,' he said, 'should have books to read.’"

The next week, the class had to give a short talk about "What makes you you." Leo stood in front of the class. He no longer sank in his chair. "My name is Leo, he said ___8___. "It means being someone who helps others learn. My great-grandfather built a library. One day, I want to build something too-maybe a reading club."
After class, a classmate said, "Leo, that's really cool." For the first time, Leo ___9___ when his name was called again.

At the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, 16 robots wowed hundreds of millions of viewers. Wang Xingxing, their "boss" and the founder of Unitree Robotics, became an overnight star.
Wang didn't use to be a "star" student. He had trouble with English and often failed English tests. Yet, he loved building small machines and creating new things. When he studied robotics in college, his talent finally found its voice. Today, the man who couldn't shine in English has made the world amazed at Chinese robotics.
Wang's story proves that the Bucket Theory is not always the case. According to the theory, the amount of water a bucket can hold depends on its shortest board. Similarly, the weakest part of people often decides his overall performance. That's why it is generally believed the key to success lies in improving one's weakness instead of developing his strongest points However, Wang focused his strengths on robotics, kept trying and created new possibilities.
In fact, everyone has their own advantages. But how can you discover them? Let's start by thinking about what you enjoy and what comes naturally to you. For example, if you love drawing, try joining an art club or taking a design course. Also, try new activities, and you might uncover some hidden talents. Maybe you've never tried programming before, but after a workshop, probably you will realize you have a gift for it. Finally, never stop learning; it opens doors to new interests and skills.

When my sister Louisa and I attended Mr. Hawkins' school, we had to walk through thick woods every day. There was no proper road, s our father marked trees with cuts to guide us. For most of the winter, we followed the trees safely, but one morning, everything changed.
That morning, a heavy snow began to fall. Mother stood at the door, saying worriedly, "John, the snow's getting heavy. The children should stay home today."
Dad shook his head. "A little snow never hurt anybody. When I was their age, I walked through worse. They'll be just fine." We left happily, but as we walked farther, the snow covered the marked trees, and we gradually (逐渐地) lost our way.
We decided to head north to follow a young man's footprints. However, the snow kept falling harder, and the footprints became unclear. Louisa held my arm so hard. "Oliver, what if we never find the way?" Her voice was shaking I tried to look brave. “I'll get us out of here. Just stay close to me." Inside, though, my heart was beating fast. Then a thought hit us: what if these weren't a man's footprints at all? What if they belonged to a bear? We couldn't help crying, realizing we were truly lost.
But we knew a little about the woods-not much, but maybe enough. We calmed down and kept following the footprints. Finally, we walked into a clearing and saw a small house. We ran over and knocked. To our surprise, it was our neighbor Aunt Polly who opened the door.
When she heard our story, she laughed, "So you two brave ones were following my old cow Bessie! She's smarter than she looks and brought you right to my door." Aunt Polly took us in, warmed us up by the fire, and sent us home safely. It was a terrible but unforgettable day for Louisa and me.

Ancient Chinese music has "travelled through time" and is amazing modern people, thanks to an ancient music orchestra (管弦乐团) from Zhengzhou, Henan Province.
Since its start in 2000, the Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra of the Henan Museum has reproduced and restored more than 1,000 ancient Chinese musical instruments. And it has discovered and performed nearly 200 ancient Chinese songs.
With instruments and scores (乐谱), most orchestras can perform at any time. However, the Huaxia Ancient Music Orchestra has to make its instruments first, as the ancient instruments they need are cultural treasures and cannot be used.
Yuan Jiayin, a musician of the orchestra, often plays an ancient Chinese folk song with Se, an ancient traditional Chinese musical instrument. Since it has long been lost in China, Yuan has to do a lot to answer questions about the authenticity (真实性) of the instrument. "We try to explain everything about Se. We also explain how we restore and recreate the instrument," Yuan said.
The orchestra is famous for its ancient Chinese music, but it never stops there. To bring something new to the audience, it uses old instruments to play pop and classical pieces. In this way, it brings together the old and the new, and also the Chinese and the Western.
The orchestra performs twice a day and three times on holidays at the Henan Museum. It plays to a full house almost every time. “Culture cannot stay alive on its own. We must put in great effort and let more people learn about it—not only with their eyes, but also with their ears" said Huo Kun, head of the orchestra.
