2. Students can listen to three conversations, match the four people (Helen, Fu Xing, Teng Fei’s father and Ms Gao) with their birthdays, and answer the questions in 1c.
3. Students can use “How old are you? I’m ...” and “When is your birthday? It’s on ...” to talk about ages and birthdays, and line up their group members from the youngest to the oldest.
II. Key and Difficult Points
Key points: the twelve months, the ordinal numbers, and the two questions “How old are you?” and “When is your birthday?”, with the answer “It’s on + date”.
Difficult points: the pronunciation of longer months (e.g. February, August); telling the difference between “How old” (asks about age) and “When” (asks about time); telling dates in British English (12th June) and American English (June 12th).
