Green means “eat often”: rice, vegetables, fish, eggs and fruit. Yellow means “sometimes”: noodles with sauce, fried rice, sweet bread. Red means “only now and then”: chips, fried chicken and sugary drinks. / The labels were not the idea of the teachers. A student committee had done a survey and found that 40 per cent of students bought a sugary drink every day. They took the survey to the head teacher. / The change was quiet. Nobody banned anything. The red dishes were simply moved to the far end of the counter, and the green dishes were placed near the front. Fruit was put beside the payment desk. / Two months later, green dishes were selling 30 per cent more, and sugary drinks 25 per cent less. “We did not tell students what to eat,” the nutritionist said. “We made the healthy choice easier to see.” / Some students still buy chips on Fridays. That, the committee says, is part of a balanced life. 任务一:单项选择 1.What does a green label mean? A.Eat often. B.Eat only now and then. C.Never eat. D.Eat before sport. 2.Where were the green dishes placed? A.Near the front of the counter. B.At the far end. C.In a separate room. D.Outside the canteen. 任务二:判断正误(T/F) 3.The school banned all red dishes. ( ) 4.Green dishes sold 30 per cent more after two months. People on the island of Crete had very few heart attacks, although they ate a lot of fat. / Their diet was studied for years. It was built on olive oil, vegetables, beans, whole grains, fruit, nuts and fish. Meat and sweet food appeared only a few times a month. Meals were long, and people ate together. / This pattern became known as the Mediterranean diet. Large studies later found that people who followed it closely had a lower risk of heart disease and some cancers. / Why does it work? Olive oil is mostly unsaturated fat, which is gentler on the heart than butter. Fish provides omega-3 fats. Vegetables and beans provide fibre, which helps digestion and keeps you full. / But the diet is not only a list of foods. Research suggests that eating slowly, with other people, also matters. In one study, families who ate together four times a week had healthier diets than families who ate alone. / The lesson is simple: what you eat matters, and so does how you eat it. 任务一:单项选择 1.What did scientists notice about people on Crete? A.They had few heart attacks although they ate a lot of fat. B.They never ate fat. C.They all became ill. D.They ate only fish. 2.Why is olive oil gentler on the heart? A.It is mostly unsaturated fat. B.It has no calories. C.It is made from fish. D.It is very expensive. 任务二:判断正误(T/F) 3.Meat and sweet food were eaten only a few times a month. ( ) 4.The passage says how you eat does not matter. ( ) 任务三:简答 5.What did one study find about families who ate together four times a week? _______________________________________________________________________________________________ 任务四:单元微写作 学校“健康饮食周”征稿。请写一段话介绍你的饮食习惯,不少于6句话。请写清你吃什么、有什么问题、打算怎样改变,并用上 balanced diet 和 instead of。 _______________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________ 参考答案 夯实基础 一、单词汉译英 1.health 2.diet 3.sugar 4.salt 5.fat 6.vegetable 7.balanced 8.label 9.habit 10.energy 11.snack 12.portion 二、短语汉译英 1.a balanced diet 2.sugary drinks 3.instead of 4.be bad for 5.twice a day 6.put on weight 7.pay attention to 8.a portion of 三、词形变换 1.healthy 2.energetic 3.salty 4.sugary 5.nutritious 能力进阶 一、单句填空 1.eat 2.drinks 3.didn't eat 4.is 5.read 二、根据汉语意思完成句子 1.balanced; important 2.bad; for 3.instead; of 4.cans; day 5.Pay; attention 三、句型转换 1.How; often 2.How; confusing 3.Did; eat 4.is; it 5.was; changed 四、选词填空 1.balanced 2.sugary 3.snack 4.label 5.energy 五、情景补全对话 答案:1.A 2.B 3.D 4.E 5.F;多余项:C 拓展提高 Passage1 任务一:1.A 2.A 任务二:3.F 4.T 任务三简答:5.They made the healthy choice easier to see, without telling students what to eat. Then I wrote down everything I ate for three days. I found that I drank two sweet drinks a day and ate almost no vegetables. A balanced diet, my cousin told me, does not mean eating less; it means eating different things. Now I drink water instead of cola at lunch, and I add one vegetable to dinner. I still eat chips on Saturday, because I like them. The change is small, but it is a change I can keep. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
