First, it’s vital to get rid of the habit of staying up late. Adequate sleep can refresh your mind. Second, keep a balanced diet instead of eating junk food irregularly. Third, you’d better take regular exercise to release study stress, which is beneficial to your physical and mental health. Last but not least, learn to adjust your mood and stay positive when facing pressure.
I hope my advice can help you.
Yours,
Li Hua

If you’re looking for a truly original country to visit, then Myanmar is the place. Whether you are looking for culture, history, nature, or cuisine, you will find a place to suit your taste here. Below are four popular tourist destinations in Myanmar.
Yangon
Yangon has a large population, but the city doesn’t seem crowded. There are trees everywhere, which gives it a totally different feel from other Asian cities. At night, Yangon’s wide streets come alive with stalls (货摊) selling delicious food. The most famous temple is the gold-plated Shwedagon Paya. The colonial architecture of the Strand Hotel is another great sight.
Mandalay
Picturesque Mandalay is famous for being the old royal capital of Myanmar. In the past, Burmese kings would have lived in the city and you can still see some of their palaces in evidence. Mandalay is also known for its Chinese and Indian immigrants. One of the best things to do here is to spend time enjoying the varied cuisines on offer. Its scenic mountains and beautiful waterfalls are what visitors should not miss.
Bagan
Travelers with a passion for Buddhist temples should have a field day in Bagan, since it contains the most of these in the world. The most popular destination in Bagan was the capital of the First Burmese Empire from the 9th to the 13th centuries. Today the site is still home to thousands of temples and pagodas, including the famous Ananda Temple with its sparkling gold spires.
Kalaw
If you want to explore the rural and natural beauty of Myanmar, Kalaw is a must-go place. When trekking (长途跋涉) through the hills of Kalaw, you will experience the diverse landscapes, cultures, and lifestyles of the local people, as well as enjoy the fresh air and scenic views. You will need a guide to show you the way and arrange your accommodation.

It was a sunny Saturday morning. Tom, a 17-year-old high school student, was excited about his plan for the day. He was going to meet his friends at the local park to play basketball. As he was getting ready, his mother reminded him to take his jacket as it might get cold later. But Tom, thinking it would stay warm, ignored her advice and rushed out of the house.
When he arrived at the park, his friends were already there. They started playing basketball immediately. The game was intense and everyone was having a great time. However, after a couple of hours, dark clouds began to gather and the wind picked up. Soon, it started to rain heavily. Tom and his friends quickly ran to the nearby shelter, but they were already soaked.
Tom regretted not listening to his mother. He was shivering with cold and his teeth were chattering. His friends tried to warm him up, but it didn't seem to help much. Just then, Tom's mother showed up with a warm blanket and a cup of hot chocolate. She had seen the change in the weather and guessed that the boys might be in trouble. Tom felt both embarrassed and grateful. He realized that sometimes parents' advice, even if it seems unnecessary at first, can be very valuable.
After the rain stopped, Tom and his friends decided to go home. Tom thanked his mother again and promised to listen to her more carefully in the future. As he walked home, he thought about how this experience had taught him a lesson about being more responsible and considering the consequences of his actions.

C
Every year around August, millions of teens take their parents to stores to buy new clothes for the start of the school year. Not every parent can afford this, and some teens are forced to go to school in the same clothes they wore last year. The obvious differences in clothes cause differences among students. There is a simple solution to this problem: school uniforms (校服).
I know from personal experience and surveys that wearing uniforms creates a sense of equality among peers (同龄人).
From sixth grade until I graduated from senior high school, I attended a school that required students to wear uniforms. The uniform was very simple: dark brown shoes, green-brown pants, and a white shirt. The uniform left little room for any kind of self-expression, especially through clothes.
However, I learned how to stand out by expressing myself through my personality, art, and sports. I did not know I could draw until the sixth grade. I also would never have learned of my musical abilities if it hadn’t been for my desire to find ways to express myself. Uniforms taught me that I was myself, except what I wore.
Uniforms also contribute to a much safer learning environment. I remember a particular event that happened in my junior high school. A man ran away from prison and wanted to hide in the gym of our school. Luckily, cameras all over the school quickly found the stranger before any danger could ever happen as he was out of place. School officials kept the man locked inside our gym until the police came to take him back to prison.
Uniforms help provide a better educational experience for all students no matter what race, culture, or economic class. In closing, wearing uniforms is good for both schools and students.
23. How does the author introduce the topic?
A. By explaining a basic rule. B. By challenging others’ views.
C. By describing a common problem. D. By sharing his parents’ experience.
24. Which of the following could the author agree with?
A. Uniforms can help shape better students. B. Uniforms should be more modern.
C. Uniforms are bad for self-development. D. Uniforms are popular with students.
25. What do the underlined words “out of place” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Standing straight. B. Running fast.
C. Breathing heavily. D. Dressing differently.
26. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A. To introduce high school uniforms.
B. To record his high school life.
C. To show his supportive view towards uniforms.
D. To ask students to like what they wear.
D
Sandesh Kadur, a National Geographic Explorer, has spent 25 years documenting
rare wildlife, transforming his childhood passion(热爱) into a mission to protect Earth’s
fragile ecosystems.
When he was young, Kadur was fascinated by Jim Corbett’s tales of big cats. Inspired, he once cycled into the jungle with a friend to observe big cats at a watering hole. At night, they really saw a big cat. Bathed in moonlight, he realized his life’s goal: to capture and share nature’s wonders.
At 12, he borrowed his father’s camera—a “magic box” that froze time. His father, an entomologist, got him looking at the small things. So he began intentionally focusing his lens on small insects, trying to understand what he was looking at. He would develop the camera film weeks later, annotating(注释)the settings and reattempting the shots. As he grew older, his love for nature, however, conflicted with academics. Failing high school, he moved to Brownsville, Texas to study hotel management—a choice that unexpectedly refueled his love for storytelling.
In Brownsville, Kadur explored Mexico’s cloud forests and landed a job as a jungle tour guide. There, he met filmmaker John Bax, who introduced him to documentary work. When they embarked on a documentary project together, Bax withdrew from it. Kadur, then 19 and untrained in film, pursued the project on his own. He spent three years filming India’s Western Ghats, capturing species like the “smoke cat” for the first time. His debut film, Sahyadris: Mountains of the Monsoon, brought the Western Ghats’ biodiversity into attention, aiding its 2012 UNESCO World Heritage status.
Through visual storytelling, Kadur offers his audiences glimpses into a rarely-seen natural world, urging them to protect its delicate inhabitants. “Visual art has conveyed stories for millennia(千年). Now we’re doing that with technology, and it will continue to advance.” said Kadur, “I think the impact of storytelling can last a lifetime. It can last generations.”
27. What led Kadur into nature?
A. Fever for big cats. B. Love for adventure.
C. Curiosity about filming. D. Fascination with Jim’s tales.
28. What was his father’s influence on him?
A. Teaching him photography skills.
B. Introducing him to documentary work.
C. Helping him regain love for storytelling.
D. Making him curious about scientific details.
29. What is the use of Kadur’s visual storytelling?
A. It well entertains audiences. B. It serves as a bridge for nature.
C. Its value lies in expression skills. D. Its impact depends on technology.
30. Which of the following words can best describe Kadur?
A. Passionate and devoted. B. Talented and ambitious.
C. Independent and committed. D. Responsible and generous.
