Often students come to the classroom believing that learning can’t be fun and that what they learn isn’t relevant to the real world — much less to their personal interests. I’ve discovered that if I show students how what they learn is relevant to my hobbies, they’re much more willing to make connections to their personal interests and develop their own hobbies. No matter what subject I’m teaching, I find ways to bring my hobbies into the classroom. For example, I’m a car enthusiast, so when I teach physics, I contextualize concepts with my knowledge about cars. If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires (轮胎) into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications. When I first brought my hobbies to my classroom, I was focused on how doing so would build engagement and help my students understand concepts in science. But I quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them. When I let them see an aspect of my life outside of school, some students who were also interested in cars connected with me more and became more engaged in my courses. Even those who didn’t share that interest with me seemed more engaged once I showed a different side of myself. What started as an experiment is now more of a philosophy. Even when I’m planning classes, I tend to think about how I can bring in my hobbies. I find that doing so energizes my instruction, engages my students, and demonstrates to them how abstract concepts play out in the real world. Best of all, my passion for my hobbies seems to inspire them to be passionate about finding their own. 4. What poses a challenge to teachers according to the author? A. Students’ misunderstandings about teachers. B. Students’ false assumptions about learning. C. The irrelevance of textbooks to students’ life. D. The gap between teachers’ and students’ hobbies. 5. Why does the author bring tires into the classroom? A. To teach an engineering skill. B. To explain the structure of a car. C. To share a real-life experience. D. To illustrate a scientific concept. 6. What was the unexpected outcome of the author’s teaching method? A. A higher class attendance rate. B. Better examination results. C. A closer teacher-student bond. D. More spare time for students. 7. Which of the following best describes the author as a teacher? A. Innovative. B. Humorous. C. Decisive. D. Sympathetic. B 5. D 6. C 7. 根据第一段“When you’re a teacher, a big part of your job is battling student misconceptions. Often students come to the classroom believing that learning can’t be fun and that what they learn isn’t relevant to the real world — much less to their personal interests (作为一名教师,工作的很大一部分是纠正学生的错误认知。学生们走进教室时,往往认为学习毫无乐趣,所学的知识与现实世界无关,更不用说和他们的个人兴趣相关了)”可知,教师面临的一大挑战是学生对于学习的错误设想,认为学习无趣且和现实、自身兴趣无关。故选B。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“I’m a car enthusiast, so when I teach physics, I contextualize concepts with my knowledge about cars. If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications (我是一名汽车爱好者,所以教物理时,我会用汽车相关知识为物理概念创设情境。比如讲到摩擦力时,我会把不同的轮胎带到教室,让学生用它们做实验,看看摩擦力在现实生活中是如何起作用的)”可知,作者将轮胎带到教室,是为了借助实物实验,让学生理解摩擦力这一科学概念在现实中的应用,也就是阐释科学概念。故选D。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“When I first brought my hobbies to my classroom, I was focused on how doing so would build engagement and help my students understand concepts in science. But I quickly learned that the practice also helped me build stronger relationships with them (起初我把爱好带进课堂时,一心想着这样做能提高学生的课堂参与度,帮助他们理解科学概念,但我很快发现,这种做法还帮助我和学生建立了更紧密的关系)”可知,作者将爱好融入课堂的初衷是提升参与度、帮助学生理解概念,而意外的结果是师生之间的联系变得更加紧密。故选C。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。通读全文,尤其根据作者打破传统教学模式,主动将自己的汽车爱好融入物理课堂,通过第二段“If we’re covering friction, for example, I bring different tires into my classroom so that my students can conduct lab experiments with them to see how friction works in real-life applications (例如,如果我们要讨论摩擦,我会把不同的轮胎带到教室里,这样我的学生就可以用它们进行实验室实验,看看摩擦在现实生活中是如何工作的)”和最后一段“What started as an experiment is now more of a philosophy.Even when I'm planning classes,I tend to think about how I can bring in my hobbies.I find that doing so energizes my instruction, engages my students, and demonstrates to them how abstract concepts play out in the real world.Best of all,my passion for my hobbies seems to inspire them to be passionate about finding their own.(最初的尝试如今已演变成一种教学理念。即使在备课的时候,我也会思考如何把爱好融入教学。我发现这样做能让我的课堂更有活力,吸引学生的注意力,并向他们展示抽象概念在现实世界中的具体体现。最重要的是,我对爱好的热情似乎能激励他们满怀热情地去寻找属于自己的兴趣所在)”可知,作者作为教师,敢于创新教学方式,打破学生对学习的固有认知,是富有创新精神的。故选A。 C The next time someone smiles at you, your face will probably smile back. Within moments, your facial muscles begin to mirror theirs. Psychologists call this automatic response emotional mimicry (模仿), and a 2026 study led by Michal Olszanowski, a psychology researcher at SWPS University, suggests it may shape an important decision we make about others: whether we trust them. Scientists have long known that copying someone’s expressions makes them trust you more. But Olszanowski and his coworkers wondered whether the opposite might also be true: Could mimicking someone else’s smile change how you feel about them? In the study, they found that the stronger participants unconsciously mirrored a smile, the more trustworthy they rated the smiling face, and the more resources they were willing to share in a trust-based game. When participants performed facial movements that enhanced their smile mimicry, their trust ratings increased. Those findings suggest that one of our most important social judgments may begin with something as simple as a shared smile. According to the researchers, we trust people whose smiles we copy possibly because copying their smile makes us feel good. Additionally, when we copy someone’s smile, our faces move together for a moment. This small action makes us feel like we’re part of a group, and thus we trust each other more. Trust doesn’t just shape social interactions. A 2025 study shows that people who trust others more often say they feel happier and more satisfied with life. That feeling is linked to living longer. In healthcare, when patients trust their doctors, they’re more likely to follow medical advice, leading to better health results over time. In Olszanowski’s study, even forced smiles made people copy the smile and feel more trust. But Piotr Winkielman, a professor at the University of California San Diego, thinks real smiles might work even better. He points to a 2025 review that found natural expressions had stronger effects than forced ones. Moreover, different places have different rules about when to smile and what a smile means. So the same smile might not make people feel the same level of trust in every country. 8. What is a finding of unconscious smile mimicry? A. It can be blocked easily. B. It leads to less resource sharing. C. It can produce negative feelings. D. It is positively related to trust ratings. 9. Why can copying a smile increase trust according to the researchers? A. It makes people look prettier. B. It can show one’s honesty directly. C. It can create a sense of belonging. D. It enables one to think positively. 10. What does the 2025 study suggest about trust? A. It cuts back on medical costs. B. It has measurable health results. C. It improves social interactions. D. It mainly benefits medical staff. 11. What might affect the amount of trust a smile produces? A. Culture. B. Economy. C. Technology. D. Education. D 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第三段中“In the study, they found that the stronger participants unconsciously mirrored a smile, the more trustworthy they rated the smiling face, and the more resources they were willing to share in a trust‑based game. (在该研究中,他们发现参与者无意识模仿微笑的程度越强,他们对微笑面孔给出的信任评分就越高,并且在信任游戏中愿意分享的资源也越多。)”可知,无意识的微笑模仿与信任评分呈正相关。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段中“Additionally, when we copy someone’s smile, our faces move together for a moment. This small action makes us feel like we’re part of a group, and thus we trust each other more. (此外,当我们模仿别人的微笑时,我们的面部会同步运动片刻。这个小小的举动会让我们感觉自己是群体中的一员,于是我们会更加信任彼此。)”可知,模仿微笑能够产生归属感,进而提升信任。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第六段中“A 2025 study shows that people who trust others more often say they feel happier and more satisfied with life. That feeling is linked to living longer. In healthcare, when patients trust their doctors, they’re more likely to follow medical advice, leading to better health results over time. (一项2025年的研究表明,更信任他人的人往往表示自己更快乐、对生活更满意。这种感受与长寿相关。在医疗领域,当患者信任医生时,他们更有可能遵从医嘱,久而久之会带来更好的健康结果。)”可推知,信任会带来可衡量的健康方面的结果。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Moreover, different places have different rules about when to smile and what a smile means. So the same smile might not make people feel the same level of trust in every country. (此外,不同地区对于何时微笑、微笑代表什么有着不同的准则。所以同样的微笑在不同国家未必能让人们产生同等程度的信任感。)”可推知,文化会影响微笑所能产生的信任程度。 D A powerful AI has recently made headlines after its existence was unintentionally revealed to have the ability to hack computers without punishment. Created by Anthropic, an AI giant, Mythos can identify cybersecurity (网络安全) flaws in seconds, leaving operating systems and software vulnerable to hackers (黑客). Anthropic claims that, if asked, Mythos can discover vulnerabilities in any software. However, under a program called Project Glasswing, Anthropic has decided to make it available to a selected group of tech and finance giants — including Amazon, Apple, Google, and Microsoft — so that they can detect any bugs in their own systems before someone else does. Meanwhile, members of a private online forum have also managed to gain access to the trial. Kevin Curran at Ulster University, UK, notes that the potential capabilities of Mythos have triggered alarm across the security industry, although researchers remain divided on how serious the threat actually is. Nevertheless, it seems that it isn’t time to panic yet. Bobby Holley at Firefox, one of the organizations given access to Mythos, wrote in a blog post that the model helped his team find 271 vulnerabilities in the company’s web browser, yet that none was so remarkably complex that a human analyst couldn’t have found. The UK’s AI Security Institute (AISI) has also investigated Mythos. In tests, it was found to be capable of attacking only small, weakly defended and vulnerable enterprise systems. No evidence was found that genuinely secure software or networks would be at risk. Still, the institute cautioned that such models are improving fast. Alan Woodward at the University of Surrey, UK, has a practical view — Mythos is not necessarily capable of finding vulnerabilities that a human wouldn’t, but it’s just so much faster, thorough and relentless. Hence, it’s finding vulnerabilities that humans have missed. In essence, “AI is making — and will continue to make — both hacking and defending from hackers easier”, he explains, “but those who ignore the technology will find themselves at a big disadvantage.” 12. What do we know about Mythos? A. It went public accidentally. B. It is available to netizens globally. C. It has brought more profits than expected. D. It has made headlines for its vulnerabilities. 13. What does Project Glasswing aim to do? A. Promote Mythos. B. Ease the panic over Mythos. C. Test Mythos’ capability. D. Help identify software bugs. 14. What can be inferred from paragraph 3? A. Mythos is no match for human experts. B. Mythos is no better than previous models. C. Panic over Mythos might be overestimated. D. Improvements of Mythos is needed for security. 15. Which of the following might Alan Woodward agree with? A. Mythos will replace human experts. B. Mythos is more reliable than human experts. C. Mythos’ high-efficiency makes it a valuable tool. D. Mythos puts humans at an independent disadvantage. A 13. D 14. C 15. 根据第一段“A powerful AI has recently made headlines after its existence was unintentionally revealed to have the ability to hack computers without punishment. (然而,在一个名为“Glasswing项目”的计划下,Anthropic决定将其提供给一组精选的科技和金融巨头——包括亚马逊、苹果、谷歌和微软——以便他们能在其他人之前检测到自己系统中的任何漏洞。)”可知,Project Glasswing旨在帮助识别软件漏洞。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Nevertheless, it seems that it isn’t time to panic yet. Bobby Holley at Firefox, one of the organizations given access to Mythos, wrote in a blog post that the model helped his team find 271 vulnerabilities in the company’s web browser, yet that none was so remarkably complex that a human analyst couldn’t have found. (然而,似乎还没到恐慌的时候。Firefox是获得Mythos使用权的组织之一,其员工Bobby Holley在一篇博客文章中写道,该模型帮助他的团队在公司网络浏览器中发现了271个漏洞,但没有一个复杂到人类分析师无法发现。)”以及“No evidence was found that genuinely secure software or networks would be at risk. (没有发现真正安全的软件或网络会面临风险的证据。)”可知,对Mythos的恐慌可能被高估了。  【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Alan Woodward at the University of Surrey, UK, has a practical view — Mythos is not necessarily capable of finding vulnerabilities that a human wouldn’t, but it’s just so much faster, thorough and relentless. Hence, it’s finding vulnerabilities that humans have missed. (英国萨里大学的Alan Woodward持务实观点——Mythos不一定能够发现人类无法发现的漏洞,但它只是更快、更彻底、更不知疲倦。因此,它正在发现人类遗漏的漏洞。)”可知,Alan Woodward认为Mythos的高效率使其成为一种有价值的工具。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 The integration of AI into education is rapidly shifting from theoretical discussion to practical application. Even in middle school I would stay up very late. I would feel completely at ease doing my homework in bed, with light music on. I found comfort in keeping myself awake when everyone else had gone to bed, and I loved the silence of the night. My parents urged me to get out of this so-called unhealthy habit, but their repeated requests fell on deaf ears. Fast forward to my first year of college. I still loved the night and would stay up until unruly hours for no apparent reason, chatting online and watching videos. When I finally started to study, I would race through the assigned work, often well past midnight. My roommates would tell me to go to bed and get up early the following morning to do it instead. Get up early to do my homework? No way! I would never do that. Then, one day last term, I did exactly that. Bent over my laptop while sitting on the bed in the corner of my room, I suddenly felt a pounding headache, and had to lie down. Unable to keep my eyes open, I decided I had no choice but to finish my homework the next morning. I woke up at 6am. Hardly had I written half a page when I felt a sharp pain in my chest. At the school clinic, a doctor, with a serious expression on his face, handed me a medical report. “You’re 20, but your heart is 40!” he said. A cold wave went through me. I realized that years of living as a late-night person had turned my heart into an overworked engine. Struck by the doctor’s warning, I knew I had to make a change. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Slowly but surely, my efforts to adjust to the new routine paid off. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Struck by the doctor’s warning, I knew I had to make a change. That very night, I initiated my battle against my deep-rooted habits. I forcibly switched off my laptop and phone at 10 p.m., placing them completely out of reach. However, my rebellious biological clock refused to cooperate. I tossed and turned in the darkness, the silence of the room amplifying my anxiety. The urge to grab my phone and drown in videos was overwhelmingly tempting. Just as my willpower was about to crumble, the doctor's stern voice and that terrifying sharp pain in my chest echoed in my mind, anchoring me back to reality. I squeezed my eyes shut, practicing deep breathing until exhaustion finally claimed me. Slowly but surely, my efforts to adjust to the new routine paid off. The mornings, which used to be my greatest enemy, gradually transformed into a welcoming friend. Instead of racing through assignments with a foggy brain at midnight, I found myself tackling them with a clear and focused mind in the golden sunlight. Not only did the heavy burden on my chest vanish, but an unprecedented sense of vitality also flowed through my veins. When I proudly showed my parents my improved medical report during the holiday, their relieved smiles were my best reward. I finally realized that true comfort isn't found in the unruly hours of the night, but in the vibrant rhythm of a disciplined life. 词汇激活: 行为类: 关掉:switch off/turn off/shut off 处理: tackle/handle/deal with 消失:vanish/fade away 情绪类: 令人恐惧的:terrifying/hair-raising/horrifying 自豪地:proudly/with pride 欣慰的:relieved/gratified 【点睛】【高分句型1】Just as my willpower was about to crumble, the doctor's stern voice and that terrifying sharp pain in my chest echoed in my mind, anchoring me back to reality.(运用了as引导的时间状语从句和现在分词短语作状语) 【高分句型2】Not only did the heavy burden on my chest vanish, but an unprecedented sense of vitality also flowed through my veins.(运用了部分倒装句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高三年级上学期10月考试英语试卷 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。 1. C The next time someone smiles at you, your face will probably smile back. A. Culture. B. Economy. C. Technology. D. Education. D A powerful AI has recently made headlines after its existence was unintentionally revealed to have the ability to hack computers without punishment. C. Once viewed with doubt, AI is now emerging as a powerful ally (助手) in the classroom, particularly in the field of academic writing. As students face complex research and communication demands, and teachers deal with growing class sizes and grading loads, AI writing tools offer innovative solutions that support both sides of the educational process. ____16____ These tools are transforming the learning landscape, providing personalized feedback, and facilitating efficient content generation. ____17____ A good AI writing tool can also help learners become more confident, clear-thinking and critical communicators. Meanwhile, it allows teachers to focus more on high-level teaching and individual guidance. ____18____ The large volume of writing assignments to grade can be stressful, often leading to burnout and a struggle to provide timely feedback. AI writing tools are stepping in to ease this burden. They can perform grammar checks, detect academic dishonesty, and offer revision suggestions. By handling these basic tasks, AI frees up teachers to focus on guiding complex thinking and addressing individual learning needs. For students, AI writing tools act as personalized learning partners that adapt to individual needs. ____19____ They struggle with organizing ideas and expressing themselves clearly in writing. AI can generate starter ideas, provide instant grammar feedback, and help create logical outlines, building confidence and independence. However, the power of AI in education also brings notable risks. Over-reliance may weaken students’ thinking skills, and unequal access to advanced tools could widen the learning gap between students. ____20____ With clear guidelines and proper training, AI can become a powerful force for developing deeper thinking and more meaningful learning experiences. A. For many learners, writing can be a real challenge. B. Yet they can do far more than perform these practical tasks. C. Thus, balancing AI support with human oversight is critical. D. They aim to assist, not replace, the work of teachers and students. E. This technology helps reduce the heavy marking load on teachers. F. However, teachers need proper training to use these tools effectively. G. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
