Is Space Exploration Worth the Money?
Whenever a rocket lifts off, someone asks the same question: could this money have been better spent on the ground? My answer is yes—it is worth it, and not for the reason most people think.
First, space research pays us back in ways we rarely notice. Satellites guide our buses, warn us of typhoons and connect calls across oceans. Materials developed for spacecraft now keep food fresh and make artificial limbs lighter. In other words, the money does not disappear into the sky; it comes back as technology we use every day.
Second, exploration is how a species survives. The earth has limited resources and a long history of disasters. Learning to live beyond it is not an escape but an insurance policy for our grandchildren.
Of course, there are those who argue that the money should be spent on hospitals and schools. They have a point—but the choice is not either/or. A country can build both, as China has done. The question is not whether we can afford to explore, but whether we can afford to stop.
Is Space Exploration Worth the Money?
Some people think space exploration is a waste of money. I don't think so. I think it is very important.
First, it can help us. We use satellites every day. We can watch TV and use maps. This is very good for our life.
Second, it is interesting. Many young people like space. They want to be astronauts. It can make them study hard.
So I think we should explore space. It is good for us.
First / Second / In other words

写“satellites are useful”是 6 分,写“satellites guide our buses, warn us of typhoons and connect calls across oceans”是 12 分——三个具体场景,胜过十个形容词。
Of course, there are those who argue that… 让步,再用 but the choice is not either/or 反驳,一句就把思维层次拉开。
launch a satellite、go into orbit、make a breakthrough、make contributions to、in the long run、explore the unknown The question is not whether…but whether…
