人教版高中英语选择性必修第三册 Unit 5 Poems
单元写作任务专项训练
本单元的写作任务是写一首小诗或一篇诗歌赏析(a poem or a poetry review)。要求包含以下部分:
诗歌形式(Form):分行、分节,注意节奏与押韵,可用重复与意象;意象与情感(Images and feelings):用一两个具体的画面承载情感,避免直接说“我很伤心”;赏析与推荐(Comment and recommendation)若为赏析,则说明诗句的意思与打动你的地方。
在动笔之前,教材为本单元的写作提供了充分的输入与铺垫。阅读输入:Reading for Writing 的 “A Few Simple Forms of English Poems” 介绍了童谣、清单诗、五行诗、俳句等多种诗歌形式;Reading and Thinking 的 “A Few Simple Forms of English Poems” 配套文章则提供了多首范例。教材引导学生模仿形式、捕捉意象。
语言输入:教材引导学生关注诗歌的语言特点(意象 image、重复 repetition、押韵 rhyme、节奏 rhythm),以及赏析时的表达(The poem describes… / The line that moves me most is… / It reminds me of…),并提示写诗要“以小见大”,用具体事物表达抽象情感。
写作输出:教材设置了“写一首小诗并赏析”的写作任务——学生先仿写一种简单的诗歌形式,再为自己的诗或一首喜欢的诗写一段 80 词左右的赏析,汇编成班级诗集。本单元的写作任务旨在培养学生运用意象—情感—赏析的方式表达情感的能力,学会用凝练的语言捕捉生活之美,提升审美感受力。

Moonlight on My Bed: Reading Li Bai
Li Bai's Jing Ye Si is only twenty characters long, but almost every Chinese child knows it.
The poem describes moonlight on the floor, which the poet mistakes for frost. He looks up at the moon, then down, and thinks of home. In four short lines, a whole night of homesickness is there.
What I admire is its simplicity. No difficult words, no long explanations, just one small scene that everyone recognizes at once.

My grandmother washed rice there, / and my father learned to swim / between two grey stones. / Now the stones are gone. / Only the water remembers.
When I go back, / I stand on the new bridge / and listen. / The river is still telling / the story of my family / in a language only we can hear.

Why We Still Need Poetry
Hello, everyone. In a world of short videos, poetry seems slow and unnecessary, like an old friend nobody visits.
But poetry is how we say the things that are too big for ordinary sentences. When my grandfather died, no message could express it; a poem did. Poetry slows us down, and slowing down is how we notice we are alive.
So read one poem aloud this week, at your own pace. Let the words take their time. Thank you!

Dear Chris,
You asked me to recommend a poem. I'd like to share one of my favourites: Jing Ye Si by Li Bai.
It is only twenty characters, but it describes a man far from home, looking at the moon. Chinese children learn it at six, and adults still recite it at sixty. The moon in China means family, so the poem is about missing the people you love.
If you like it, I can send you a translation and read it aloud for you.
Yours,
Li Hua
