Happy birthday to the Qinghai-Xizang Railway! Located on the “roof of the world”, the 1,956-kilometer railway had its 20th birthday this July.
Travel between the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau(高原) and the rest of China used to be difficult. In the 1950s, it took animals three or four months to carry goods from Qinghai to Lhasa, Xizang. Now, trains can do it in 48 hours.
The railway has helped business grow. Near Xining Railway Station, a market for caterpillar fungus(冬虫夏草) has developed. In the past, business people had to drive for days to Xizang to collect the medical plants. Now, people in Xizang can bring the medical plants by train, and packages from the market can reach many parts of China the next day, Xinhua reported.
Lhasa West Station has changed too. The area used to be open land with dirt roads. Now, it's a modern transport center with 11 lines that carry cars, electric machines, vegetables, fruits and many other goods. Local products, such as apples from Nyingchi and Shannan, are also sold to Nepal by rail.
To protect the local environment, many parts of the railway are built on bridges so that wild animals can pass safely below. Today, the number of Tibetan antelopes (藏羚羊) in Xizang has grown from about 70,000 in the 1990s to more than 300,000. “Now, you can often see them running alongside the railway,” Hao Baojun, who has worked on the line for 40 years, told Xinhua.
But the changes do not stop there. Earlier this year, China started a new power project for the railway. Once it is finished, more trains on the line will run on electricity instead of diesel(柴油).
24. How does the writer show changes in transportation in Paragraph 2 ?
A. By telling stories.
B. By giving reasons.
C. By making a comparison.
25. What can we know about Lhasa West Station?
A. It was a modern transport center long ago.
B. It now has 11 lines to carry different kinds of goods.
C. People can only send apples to Nepal by rail here.
26. Why are many parts of the railway built on bridges?
A. To protect local environment and wild animals.
B. To stop wild animals from walking across the railway.
C. To make trains run faster.
27. What will happen after the new power project is finished?
A. No trains will run on the railway.
B. More trains will use electricity.
C. No trains will use diesel.
C

Ecotourism(生态旅游) has become popular in recent years. Many villages in China have developed ecotourism to improve local life. Lushan Village is 46. good example. Let me tell you what happened.
Forty years ago, Lushan Village was a poor place. People made a living by 47. and fishing. The roads were 48. and the traffic wasn't convenient. Few visitors came here and most young people left the village to find jobs in cities.

In recent years, educational psychologists(心理学家) have made a surprising discovery. They found that students who believe they can become cleverer really do become cleverer. This belief is called a “growth mindset”—the understanding that abilities can be developed through hard work and good strategies.
Dr. Carol Dweck, a leading researcher at Stanford University, has spent over 30 years studying how mindset affects learning. In one famous experiment, she gave a group of students a set of challenging puzzles(拼图). After finishing, half of the students were praised for their intelligence (“You must be smart!”) while the other half were praised for their effort (“You must have worked hard!”). The results were very different. Students who were praised for effort were more willing to take on harder challenges later, while those praised for intelligence often gave up when things became difficult.
Dweck's research shows that students with a growth mindset see mistakes as chances to learn. They know that trying hard to solve a problem means they are growing, not failing. On the other hand, students with a “fixed mindset” believe that intelligence is something they are born with. They often stay away from hard challenges because they're afraid of failure.
The good news is that mindsets can change. It's never too late for people to form a growth mindset.Teachers and parents can help students develop a growth mindset by praising their hard work and learning methods instead of intelligence. This simple way of praise can greatly encourage students to face difficulties bravely.
Dr. Dweck believes that everyone has the ability to become a better learner. The key is to face challenges and keep trying. As she often says, “Becoming is better than being.”
56.What is called “ growth mindset”?
57. What were the two groups of students praised for in the experiment?
58. Do students with a fixed mindset enjoy taking hard challenges?
59. How can teachers and parents help students develop a growth mindset?
60. Which mindset do you have, growth mindset or fixed mindset? Why?

21.C 解析:由 Picture 1 饼图可知,选择 Work in groups(小组合作)的学生占 55%,比例最高,故大多数学生遇到学习困难时会进行小组合作(Turn to the internet 占 20%,Think independently 占 15%,Ask teachers for help 占 10%)。
22.B 解析:由原文 "It is a valuable guide for educators and learners" 可知,学习金字塔对教育者和学习者都很有意义,对应 B 项。A 项错误:金字塔图中 Practising(75%)的记忆保持率高于 Discussion(50%);C 项与原文 "Active learning, although highly effective, needs more time and effort"(主动学习需要更多时间和精力)不符。
25.B 解析:由 “Now, it's a modern transport center with 11 lines that carry cars, electric machines, vegetables, fruits and many other goods” 可知 B 项正确。A 项与 “The area used to be open land with dirt roads”(过去是空地和土路)矛盾;C 项中的 only 过于绝对,原文只说苹果等本地产品也通过铁路卖到尼泊尔。
26.A 解析:由 “To protect the local environment, many parts of the railway are built on bridges so that wild animals can pass safely below” 可知,铁路很多路段以桥代路是为了保护当地环境,让野生动物从桥下安全通过(藏羚羊数量已从约 7 万只增长到 30 多万只),故选 A。
27.B 解析:由 “more trains on the line will run on electricity instead of diesel” 可知,新电力工程完工后,线上更多火车将用电驱动。C 项 “No trains will use diesel” 过于绝对,原文只说 “more trains”。
下文 “she stuck to training day after day and never stopped”(她日复一日坚持训练,从未停止)正是对该词的解释,对应 A 项 “Continuing without stopping”。
33.C 解析:本段主题是把学科与真实生活联系起来,C 项 “Maths helps when you are shopping”(购物时数学很有用)与后文 “English is useful when you travel abroad”(出国旅行时英语很有用)构成并列举例。
34.B 解析:本段介绍单词卡片游戏、拼图地图、用 APP 练习拼写语法等“寓学于玩”的方式,末句 “Learning by doing feels like play, not work” 点明“把学习变成游戏”,故 B 项适合作本段小标题。
35.E 解析:本段主题是 “Learn outside school”(校外学习),E 项 “Visit museums to see what life was like in the past”(参观博物馆了解过去的生活)与参加社区活动学新运动、去公园或动物园观察动植物并列举例。
(多余项:A. Develop good habits.

How My Learning Methods Changed My Life
My English learning has changed a lot since I came to junior high school. In primary school, I used to read slowly and found it hard to remember words, so I lost interest in English. Things began to change after I entered junior high school. Now I read books that suit my English level, and memorize words by making word cards and using them in sentences. Little by little, I have become interested in English and made great progress. I feel lucky and confident now, because proper learning methods are the key to success. They have truly changed my life.
