五、阅读理解
A
In the past, people in a remote village called Shigu in Yunnan had to cross a dangerous rope bridge (索桥) over the Jinsha River to go to school or buy things. The bridge was made of old ropes and wood—very scary, especially during windy or rainy days. Many students dropped out (辍学) because the trip was too dangerous.
In 2018, a steel bridge was finally built. Now cars and motorcycles can cross safely in just a few minutes. Students take a school bus across the bridge every day. Shops, a clinic, and even a small library appeared near the bridge entrance.
Villager He Ming said, "My daughter used to spend two hours climbing mountains and crossing the old rope bridge. Now she rides a bike across the new bridge in ten minutes."
The new bridge not only connects two sides of the river, but also connects the village to opportunity. Farmers now send their oranges and walnuts (核桃) to the city by truck. Tourism has begun—visitors come to see the beautiful river and the old rope bridge, which is now kept as a historical site.

China's high-speed railway (HSR) network has grown into the largest in the world. In 2008, the first HSR line—Beijing to Tianjin—opened, running at 350 km/h. Today, the network reaches almost every province.
The HSR has reshaped (重塑) how Chinese people travel and live. Cities once far apart are now connected within hours. A businessman in Shanghai can have lunch in Hangzhou and be back for dinner. Young couples in different cities can meet on weekends easily. "Double-city life" has become common.
It also helps smaller cities grow. Places like Lijiang and Guilin, once requiring long bus rides, are now just hours away from big hubs (枢纽). Local businesses boom as tourists flood in. Farmers can send fresh produce to distant markets the same day.
Of course, building such a huge network costs a lot and faces challenges—mountains, rivers, and high construction costs. Yet experts believe the long-term benefits outweigh the costs: lower travel time, reduced traffic, and balanced regional development.
The next goal is smarter, greener trains—using cleaner energy and AI to manage operations. China is also exporting (出口) its HSR technology to other countries, sharing its "China speed" with the world.
6. When did China's first HSR line open?
A. 2008. B. 2018. C. 1998. D. 2020.
7. What does "Double-city life" mean according to the passage?
A. Living in two countries.
B. Taking two different trains a day.
C.Working in one city and easily meeting loved ones in another.
D. Building two houses in the same city.
8. How do smaller cities benefit from HSR?
A. They become quieter and lose population.
B. Tourism and local business grow due to easier access.
C. They are forced to close local farms.
D. They replace big cities completely.
9. What challenge is mentioned about building HSR?
A. Too many passengers. B. Mountains, rivers and high costs.
C. Lack of engineers. D. No government support.
10. What is the next goal mentioned for China's HSR?
A. Stop all train services.
B.Remove all old railways.
C. Only serve foreign countries.
D. Smarter and greener trains.
六、阅读表达
阅读短文,根据要求完成文后题目。
An old town called Qingmuchuan in Shaanxi was almost forgotten until a TV drama (电视剧) was filmed there. Suddenly thousands of tourists arrived. The narrow stone streets, old wooden houses, and traditional teahouses became popular overnight.
But with tourists came problems: trash, noise, and rising prices annoyed local residents. Some old houses were damaged by too many visitors walking through. The local government stepped in. They limited (限制) daily visitor numbers, repaired old buildings carefully, and trained locals to run eco-friendly guesthouses.
Now Qingmuchuan balances tourism and tradition well. Performances of local opera are held weekly, and hand-made crafts are sold in small shops owned by villagers. "Tourism gave us income, but we must protect our home," said an old shopkeeper.

七、书面表达(参考范文)
I Have Changed a Lot!
Three years ago, I was a shy boy who was afraid to speak in public. I used to hide behind my desk and never answered questions in class.
The biggest change happened in Grade 8. Our English teacher encouraged me to join the school speech contest. At first I wanted to refuse, but she said, "Just try, and you'll surprise yourself." I practiced every evening in front of a mirror. Finally, although I only got third prize, I stood on the stage confidently and finished my speech.
Since then, I have become more outgoing and brave. I now actively take part in class discussions and even host the New Year party. This change taught me: courage grows when you step out of your comfort zone.
