二、阅读理解
A
In recent years, people like to show all kinds of things on the Internet—good food, beautiful clothes, wonderful holidays and so on. Now, more and more people are showing their step numbers too. Why?
People are finding it very important to be in good health. To keep healthy, many people choose to walk to work. When they start walking, they open the step counter app on their phones to record how many steps they walk that day. After a day’s walk, many people share their step numbers on WeChat or Weibo. This can make them learn from each other and keep exercising.
“This helps me exercise more and get into a good habit,” Miss Xia said. “I can also talk about how to stay healthy with my friends on WeChat. We are in the same group to encourage each other to keep walking every day.”
Mr. Wu likes to exercise. But in the past, he was a little lazy and didn’t want to exercise every day. “Since I started using the step counter app, everything has become different,” he said. “It’s great to exercise with my friends. Sometimes there are gifts for those who walk more steps. I really like it.”
▲ They try too hard in order to get high numbers. In fact, for most teenagers, setting a daily goal of 8,000 to 10,000 steps is enough. For older people, walking about 4,400 steps a day is enough to stay healthy. It’s important to find the right amount (数量) for yourself. The key is to keep exercising regularly (定期地) instead of blindly chasing (追求) the number.
Recording steps and sharing them help people get into a good habit of walking. But remember, the most important thing is to enjoy the exercise and stay healthy, not just to get the highest number.
9.Why are many people showing their step numbers on the Internet?
A.To learn to use the step counter app.
B.To show how healthy and fast they are.
C.To meet people and make more friends online.
D.To learn from one another and keep exercising.
10.Which sentence can be put in ▲ ?
A.However, some people care too much about the step number.
B.In a word, everyone should walk to get as many steps as they can.
C.For example, walking is good for both young and old people.
D.On the other hand, many people think walking is a waste of time.
11.Which of the opinions (观点) does the writer probably agree with?
A.Sharing the step numbers brings much pressure (压力) to many people.
B.People should chase the number of steps by sharing them on Weibo.
C.Sharing the step numbers is the best way to keep exercising.
D.People should focus on regular exercise instead of getting the highest number.
B
Do you stay indoors for a long time every day? If the answer is yes, it means a lot of sitting around on your butt. And that’s not very good for you.
We already know that if we don’t move much, we get fatter, we get heart problems and maybe we get diabetes (糖尿病). But new studies have shown that it could hurt our mental (心理的) health too.
A study of 1,020 Brazilian adults found that about 30% of them sat around for more than 10 hours per day. It reported that people who sat for too long often showed more symptoms of depression (抑郁症).
Another study looked at children. It found that each extra hour of sitting time at ages 12,14 and 16 led to higher depression scores by age 18. Eighteen-year-old people who sat most often had depression scores 28% higher than those who were more active.
Scientists are not sure yet about the link between too much sitting and depression. But according to Mats Hallgren from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, “Sitting for too long can slow blood flow in the body, including blood flow to the brain.” It might also affect the growth of neurons (神经细胞) in the brain. And couch potatoes might do other unhealthy things while sitting, such as snacking on junk food. All these may lead to depression.
The good news? It’s easy to overcome (克服) it. Aaron Kandola from University College London, the UK, said “all types of movement might help, even a light activity.”
It is great to exercise and play sport,” said Kandola. “But anything you can do to avoid sitting for too long will help with mood, stress and thinking clearly.” The key message is just to move more, more often.
12.What might happen if we don’t move much?
A.We will be mentally healthier. B.We will feel more energetic.
C.We will be happier. D.We will get fatter.
13.Which of the following is NOT true?
A.Sitting too much is sure to cause depression.
B.Sitting too much is bad for children and adults.
C.All kinds of movements can be good for us.
D.It’s easier to have health problem if we sit too much.
14.What can we learn from the passage?
A.18-year-olds might have higher depression scores if they are more active.
B.It’s great for people to go out for sport to avoid sitting for too long.
C.Too much sitting must affect the growth of brain.
D.Watching TV for a long time will help with mood, stress and thinking clearly.
四、阅读表达
On a cool Saturday morning, instead of sleeping in, a group of teenagers gather at the park. They stretch (伸展), laugh, and get ready to run. But they're not just going for a jog, they're going plogging.
Plogging is a fitness activity that connects jogging with picking up litter. The name comes from the Swedish words meaning “pick up” and “jog”. It may sound simple, but this small idea has grown into a global movement. For many teens, it's more than exercise — it’s a way to protect the environment and make a difference.
As they run along the road, they would slow down whenever they see litter, like an empty bottle or a candy box. They bend, stretch, take the rubbish, and keep moving. Without even noticing it, they’re doing extra moves like bends, turning an ordinary run into a full-body workout. By the end, their legs feel stronger and their bags are filled with rubbish.
But the best part isn’t just the workout, but the sense of fulfillment (满足). When you see a cleaner park because of your effort, you’ll have a great sense of satisfaction. It reminds teens that they are not too young to make changes. Every piece of litter picked up is a small victory for the planet.
Plogging also brings people together. Teens challenge each other to collect the most litter, and in this way they make plogging more motivating (有动力的). Some classes organize plogging events as service projects. Others share their experiences on social media to encourage more people to join. What starts as a simple run becomes an important job or responsibility.
In a world facing pollution and weather problems, it’s easy to feel helpless. But plogging shows even small actions matter. Every bottle picked up, every wrapper removed, adds up. You’re not just exercising — you’re making your park, your street, and your city cleaner. You can have fun doing it, with friends cheering you on or discovering new ways to make a difference. So wear your sports shoes, grab a rubbish bag, and see how much change you can create.
15.What is “plogging”?
16.What is the best part about plogging according to the passage?
17.How do teens make plogging more motivating?
18.Would you like to try plogging in your free time? Why? (Please give two reasons.)

二、阅读理解
A
In recent years, people like to show all kinds of things on the Internet—good food, beautiful clothes, wonderful holidays and so on.
【答案】9.D 10.A 11.D
根据文章第二段中“This can make them learn from each other and keep exercising.”,说明分享步数是为了互相借鉴、坚持锻炼,D选项“To learn from one another and keep exercising.”。
10.前文讲述晒步数的好处,后文“They try too hard in order to get high numbers.”转折,讲部分人过度执着步数,需要转折过渡句。A选项“However, some people care too much about the step number.”表转折,引出盲目追步数的问题。
11.根据文章第五段中“The key is to keep exercising regularly (定期地) instead of blindly chasing (追求) the number.”以及最后一段中“the most important thing is to enjoy the exercise and stay healthy, not just to get the highest number”,作者主张重视规律锻炼而非追求最高步数,对应D选项“People should focus on regular exercise instead of getting the highest number.”。
