The football match made us exciting.(把“我们感到兴奋”误用 -ing) The football match made us excited. / The match itself is exciting. I can't afford buying a new bike.(误用 doing) I can't afford to buy a new bike. Almost everyone can afford to buy peanuts. afford to do sth 意为“负担得起做某事”,常与 can/could 连用,后接不定式而非动名词。记忆提示:afford 后跟 to do,像花生一样“买得起 to buy”。 3 be good for / be good at / be good with 混淆 Reading is good at our study.(误用 at 表“对……有益”) Reading is good for our study. 课文 They’re good for making oil 中的 be good for 意为“对……有好处”;be good at doing 是“擅长做某事”;be good with 是“善于应付、与…… She kept to practise the piano.(误用 to do) She kept practising the piano. keep doing sth 表示“持续、不断做某事”,keep 后只能接动名词;类似用法还有 enjoy / finish / practise / mind / suggest doing。 5 compare 的搭配:compared with/to Compare with last year, the price is lower.(句首误用动词原形) Compared with last year, the price is lower. 课文 compared with being useful 是“compared with + 名词”作状语,意为“与…… Compared with…。 6 expect sth of sb 的介词 of This is what I expect for you.(误用 for) This is what I expect of you. And this is what I expect of you. “对某人寄予期望”是 expect sth of sb,介词用 of 而非 for;同理 expect a lot of sb。 7 not ... until ... You can't tell the result until you will dig it out.(从句误用将来时) You can't tell the result until you dig it out. 课文 Until you dig it out, you can’t tell whether it bears fruit. until/till 引导时间状语从句时,从句用一般现在时表将来,不能加 will。 的”(excited / interested / surprised)。修饰人的表情、声音、脸色时也用 -ed(a surprised look 惊讶的表情)。 ① The story is interesting. ② I am interested in the story. ③ He told us an exciting piece of news. ④ We felt excited. ① The ground is covered with fallen leaves. ② Falling leaves danced in the wind. 3 be good for / be good at / be good with / be good to 核心区别在介词:be good at doing=擅长;be good for=对……有好处;be good with+人或物=善于应付;be good to+人=对人友好。 ① She is good at drawing. ② Milk is good for health. ③ He is good with children. ④ They are good to me. 4 compare A with B vs compare A to B compare A with B 多表“把A与B作比较(找异同)”;compare A to B 多表“把A比作B(比喻)”。句首作状语常用 compared with/to。 ① Compare this book with that one. ② Shakespeare compared the world to a stage. 5 hear/see sb doing sth vs hear/see sb do sth doing 强调“动作正在进行”,do(省略 to 的不定式)强调“看到/听到全过程”。课文 Integration 出现 hear a girl singing。 ① I heard someone singing in the next room. ② I heard someone knock at the door.
