In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has influenced our lives a lot. Scientists have developed a new AI model to change the way teenagers learn. It makes lessons more lively and efficient.
This AI model uses a special technology. It shows two key parts of learning: what students are like and what learning materials (材料) they use. It collects 42 different kinds of information to build a model for every student. So the AI model can choose the best learning materials for each student by itself.
The AI model works in two smart ways. First, it uses a special way to connect different pieces of information, so it can understand students’ needs clearly. Second, it uses a knowledge map to connect every learning material to the skills students need to learn.
The results are amazing! The AI model can correctly find out good learning materials most of the time. Its performance is 23.5% better than traditional methods. Students can learn knowledge 37.2% more quickly. Also, more students form good learning habits, and this number has grown by 41.3%. Now 87.6% of students can finish their lessons successfully.
What’s more, the AI model helps teachers too. It helps them cut down some useless learning materials and makes their work much easier. This shows that AI can be a great tool for education. It is a useful way to make lessons easier and more interesting for students all over the world.
19. Why have the scientists developed the new AI model?
A. To help students get better grades. B. To collect important information.
C. To cut down more useless classes. D. To change the way teenagers learn.
20. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 3 probably refer to?
A. The knowledge. B. The information. C. The AI model. D. The education.
21. What percentage of students can finish their lessons successfully with the help of the AI model?

At the Asian Games, a swimmer may race for himself and then for his team. On September 24, 19-year-old Chinese swimmer Zhang Zhanshuo did both. By that day, he had won six gold medals. His results showed how personal progress can support a team.
First, Zhang won the men’s 800-meter freestyle in 7:42.49. The time set a new Asian Games record. About 20 minutes later, he joined Zhao Jiayue, Wang Haoyu and Pan Zhanle in the men’s 4×100-meter freestyle relay (接力). China finished in 3:10.60, setting an Asian record and winning the gold. Zhang said he was happy to share the title and record with his teammates.
His success had grown across several races. On September 23, he won the 200-meter freestyle in an Asian-record time of 1:43.49. Two days earlier, he took gold in the 1,500-meter freestyle with 14:42.42. That swim improved his personal best by almost five seconds. He had also helped China’s men’s 4×200-meter freestyle relay team win gold with an Asian record.
The 800-meter race and the relay asked Zhang to do different jobs. In one, he raced alone and managed his pace over many laps. In the other, his swim became one part of a shared result. Each swimmer had to finish his part before the next could begin. A relay medal therefore depends on both speed and careful teamwork. The tight schedule tested his recovery, too. The short gap also tested his recovery. His story reminds us that individual improvement can lift a team when athletes prepare well and trust one another.
23. What did Zhang win in the 800-meter freestyle on September 24?
A. A personal best in the 200-meter race. B. An Asian record in the relay.
C. His first medal of the Games. D. A gold medal and a Games record.
24. What does “personal best” in Paragraph 3 mean?
A. A swimmer’s fastest result so far. B. A record shared by a team.
C. The final result of a relay. D. A race held at home.
25. Why does the passage mention both an individual race and a relay?
A. To explain why relays are easier than individual races.
B. To show that Zhang’s individual progress also helped the team.
C. To compare two Asian Games host cities.
D. To show that Zhang only enjoyed relay races.
26. Which is the best title for the passage?
A. A Busy Day at the Pool B. How to Train for an 800-Meter Race
C. From Personal Bests to Team Records D. Four Swimmers and One Medal
D 24. A 25. B 26. C

第二段指出“Zhang won the men’s 800-meter freestyle in 7:42.49. The time set a new Asian Games record.”,说明他在9月24日赢得800米自由泳金牌并创造了亚运会纪录。
第三段指出“That swim improved his personal best by almost five seconds.”,结合语境,“personal best”指运动员迄今为止的最好成绩。
D
①If you ask people, “Do you think fish can climb waterfalls?”, most of them will tell you, “You are crazy.”
②Shellears are small freshwater fish. About 17 years ago, a scientist noticed thousands of these fish climbing the Luvilombo waterfall. He even filmed it, but later lost the video. However, his reports got the attention of another researcher—Pacifique Mutambala. Mr. Mutambala then went to Luvilombo Falls to check the story of the climbing fish. What he saw amazed him. Small fish were holding on to the rock behind the falling water, making their way up the 15-meter waterfall.
③The scientists studied the fish. They learned that the shellears climb by pushing up with their back fins (鱼鳍) and using their front fins to hold onto the rock; their front fins have tiny hooks. They move almost like swimming straight up.
④Shellears perform this at the end of the rainy season and the beginning of the dry season. The movement reaches a peak by mid-April. The number of climbing fish goes up as the day ends, at sunset, and then goes down again when the sun comes out.
⑤When climbing, the fish take short breaks for 15 to 60 seconds, and longer breaks are 2 to 15 minutes, or even an hour or more! This shows that climbing upward uses a lot of energy, and the fish need longer rest time to get their energy back. It takes a fish 9 hours and 45 minutes to climb the whole height of the waterfall. That means a fish needs almost a whole day or night to get to the top! The climb is not easy at all. In fact, some fish may fall down suddenly and get washed back to the bottom of the fall!
⑥It’s still not very clear why the fish climb up. There may be some reasons for it.
27. Which question does Paragraph 3 answer?
A. How shellears move up the waterfall. B. Who first discovered shellears.
C. When shellears begin to climb. D. Where shellears climb fastest.
28. According to the study, what can we know about the fish climbing?
A. They would hardly rest during the climbing.
B. They start climbing when it rains heavily.
C. More fish go climbing towards the end of the day.
D. It takes about 24 hours to get to the top.
29. Why does the writer use three “!” in Paragraph 5?
A. To explain how lucky shellears are.
B. To tell how important the climbing up is.
C. To praise how hard-working scientists are.
D. To show how difficult the process of climbing is.
30. What might the writer write at the end of the passage?
A. The secrets behind the lost video.
B. The reasons for shellears’ unusual activity.
C. The useful ways of protecting the shellears.
D. The awards to Mr. Mutambala and other scientists.
A 28. C 29. D 30. B
第三段指出研究发现:“the shellears climb by pushing up with their back fins and using their front fins (鱼鳍) to hold onto the rock, their front fins have tiny hooks. They move almost like swimming straight up”,描述了shellears鱼如何利用背鳍推动、胸鳍钩住岩石向上移动,这直接说明shellears是如何爬上瀑布的。
根据第四段内容“The number of climbing fish goes up as the day ends, at sunset”(随着一天结束,日落时分,攀爬的鱼的数量增加),可知傍晚时攀爬的鱼更多。
结合段末总结句“The climb is not easy at all”,可知使用感叹号是为了强调攀爬过程的艰难和消耗能量之大。
文章最后一段(第⑥段)提到“It’s still not very clear why the fish climb up. There may be some reasons for it.”(目前尚不清楚鱼为什么要向上爬,可能有一些原因)。

根据上文“Julia and her cousins would go to their grandparents’ house to visit their grandpa and grandma.”
根据下文中“spending all their money on sweets”,可知孩子们拿钱去买糖果,sweets表示“糖果”,应选用sweets。
根据后句“This made Clara and Joe so angry”,可知二人炫耀糖果让别人生气,show off表示“炫耀”,应选用show off。get up“起床”,take place“发生”,play with“和……
for“为了”,with“和……一起”,in“在……里面”,不能表达方式。
【44题详解】
句意:很快他没费多少力气就赚了很多钱。
结合他是一个聪明的男孩,with little effort表示“不费大力气,几乎不用努力”,effort表示“努力,精力”,应选用effort。power“力量,权力”,energy“能量”,ability“能力”,不适合本固定搭配。
【45题详解】

根据前文“saved and saved all the coins”,可知他收集硬币,collected表示“收集”,应选用collected。
根据上文“Let’s have a competition”,可知这是理财比赛,competition表示“比赛”,应选用competition。
provide sb. with sth. showed“展示”,offered“主动提供”(常用搭配offer sb. sth.,不与with连用),sent“寄送”,均不符合本句sb. with sth.结构。
