A video has been widely spread on the Internet. In the video, a foreigner is driving a Sanbengzi — a domestic electric tricycle. Sanbengzi can be equipped (装备) with normal tires to pull passengers through the city. It can also be equipped with special tires to carry heavy things as tool trucks. Its low price and convenience have made it popular among many foreigners.
It’s not just in the U. S. You can also hear the warning sound — “Please watch out! I’m backing up!” — on the streets of France, the U. K. and Canada. Some Western people have even called Sanbengzi “the dream car”.
Guowei is one of the main makers of Sanbengzi in Wuxi, Jiangsu. In the factory, skilled workers are carefully putting the vehicles (车) together day and night. Rows of new blue tricycles stand ready to be transported abroad.
“At the beginning of 2024, orders from abroad began to increase rapidly,” said Ni Xiaofeng, Guowei’s general manager. Ni believes the popularity of the tricycle isn’t accidental. The vehicle is not expensive and very practical, and it works well on many different types of roads.
Many Western people are now looking for greener ways to get around. This has given Guowei a golden chance to develop its foreign markets. To make Sanbengzi more suitable for local needs in different markets, the company has done a lot of research. More than 100 types of tricycles have been developed as a result.
More and more people around the world are choosing products made in China. Sanbengzi’s success is one of the latest examples. Chinese products are becoming more and more popular among western countries.

The Maori arrived in New Zealand from Polynesian (波利尼西亚) islands about a thousand years ago. They were the first people to live in New Zealand.
In the late 18th century, Europeans (欧洲人) came to live in New Zealand. At that time, the population of the Maori was maybe 250,000 in New Zealand. Today most New Zealand cities have Maori festivals each year. Among festival activities are competitions in speaking, dancing and singing. Children practice for months. Then all the Maori in the area arrive to watch the competitions and see who wins.
The Maori have gone through hard times. Today they live a comfortable and modern life. They keep their cultural traditions alive, because they have passed and are passing them on to their children.

VI.任务型阅读(共5小题,计10分)
阅读下面材料,根据材料内容,完成下列各题。
Do you ever learn something but forget it soon after? Don’t worry. Maybe the F. A. S. T. method can help you.
F is for Forget Start with an empty mind. Imagine your mind as a cup: If it is full, it can’t hold anything new. Most people enter new learning experiences carrying what they already “know”, and that’s wrong. When you’re open to new ideas, your brain works better. Actually, emptying your mind is about making room for more.
A is for Active You can’t learn to ride a bike just by watching — you need to try it yourself. Active learning is the same: Doing is more important than watching. For example, when studying history, think about how it relates to the present. This helps your brain work harder and store information longer.
S is for State Your feelings play an important role in improving your memory. If you’re bored or worried, you won’t remember well. But if you’re excited or interested, it’s easier for you to remember. Some acts, such as moving your body and standing up more, can also help you learn better.
T is for Teach Teach what you’ve learned to others. Teaching makes your thoughts clear. For example, if you learn to cook, tell someone else the steps. This helps you learn cooking better. The same goes for other things.
Learning isn’t magic — it’s a skill. Practice the F. A. S. T. method to learn better.
66. Why do we need to start learning with an empty mind?
Because we need to ______________________________________ for more new information.
67. Which word in the passage has the same meaning as “connecting two things in your mind”?
It is “______________________________________________________________________”.

Hello, everyone! Today I want to talk about how to learn English well.
I used to be afraid of speaking English in front of others. So I was always quiet in class. And I always made mistakes in grammar when taking a test. I felt sad and even wanted to give up. Later, I changed my ways and made great progress.
First, I keep listening to English songs and news every day to improve my listening. It’s not only useful but also enjoyable. Second, I read short passages and memorize important words and sentences regularly. Third, I try to speak English actively in class and talk with my classmates in English as much as possible. What’s more, I keep a diary in English to practise writing.
Practice makes perfect. Learning English is not easy, but nothing is impossible. As long as we keep practising and never give up, we will become good English learners.
That’s all. Thank you!
