Mike and his dad are travelling in the desert. The sun is shining brightly, and it is very hot. But Mike is not worried. He is wearing a solar fan hat, so he feels cool.
"Look!" says Dad. He is using a solar cooker to cook their lunch. "We can cook food and charge a phone using the sun. Solar energy is clean and free." Mike uses a power bank to charge his phone. It takes a while, but it works well.
In the evening, Dad tells Mike about a solar park in Ningxia. "It looks like a shining ocean in the desert," he says. "Thousands of solar panels turn sunlight into electricity for homes and schools." People also grow crops under the panels, so the land is used twice.
"Using natural resources wisely is important," says Dad. "The sun gives us energy every day. If we learn to use it well, we can live better and take better care of the environment."

Passage 2(课外同源:Wind power on the grassland)
In the north of China, there is a big grassland. Every year, strong winds blow across it. Long ago, people there only knew that the wind could make them cold. Today, they use it to make electricity.
Big white wind turbines (风力发电机) stand on the grassland. When the wind blows, the blades turn around and around. This turns the wind into electricity for homes, schools and hospitals. One machine can give enough power for hundreds of families.
Wind power is clean. It does not burn coal or oil, so it does not make the air dirty. However, wind is different from the sun: sometimes the wind blows strongly, and sometimes there is no wind at all. So scientists are finding new ways to store the electricity for days when the wind is quiet.
"Nature gives us many gifts," says a worker. "The sun, the wind and the water can all help us. We just need to learn how to use them wisely."
任务一:单项选择

任务四范文:One natural resource we can use is the sun. In the desert, Mike and his dad use a solar cooker to cook food and a power bank to charge their phones. In Ningxia, there is a big solar park. It looks like a shining ocean, and thousands of solar panels turn sunlight into electricity for homes and schools. Solar energy is clean and free, so it is important to all of us. Wind power is another good example. Wind turbines turn the wind into electricity, and they do not make the air dirty. However, the wind is not always blowing, so scientists are finding new ways to store the electricity. I think we should learn to make use of these clean energies wisely. If we do, we can make a difference to our environment.
