Technology (HUST)have developed"lunar bricks".They hope to use the bricks to build a
research station on the moon.
To make the bricks, the scientists used a lunar soil simulant(模拟月壤).The bricks are
more than three times strong er than normal red bricks. They also have special structures, which
were used in ancient Chinese buildings. This makes it possible to simply put these bricks
together.
Professor Zhou Cheng from HUST said that they had tested five different kinds of
simulated lunar soil composition (and used three ways to harden them.In this way they
could choose the best materials for making the bricks."Lunar soil isn't the same everywhere
on the moon,”Zhou said. For example,.one of the kinds tested simulates(模拟)the lunar
soil at the landing site of Chang'e-5,which is mainly basalt(玄武岩).”
The lunar bricks need to be tested well before being used because the moon has an extreme
(极端的)environment.Quakes often happen there. And it gets as hot as 180℃during the day
and as cold as-190 C at night. The lunar bricks have been sent to China's space station on the
"Tianzhou-8"spacecraft.There,scientists carried out tests to see how well the bricks work in
space. The first bricks returned to Earth on November 14th,2025.

Not only adults, but also children can benefit from music. Some schools play relaxing
music during breaks.Teachers find that students are calmer and can focus better on their
studies afterwards.
One young boy named Tim shared his story. He said,"When I was in the hospital,I was
very scared. But my mother played my favorite pop songs for me.It made me feel like I was at

As space science develops, man has learned more and more about space.Space is not only
amazing but also dangerous. While working in space, spacemen are facing danger as well as
success.
Scientists have found out that the radiation is the greatest danger to spacemen in space.
When spacemen are working in space, they are in danger of the radiation from the sun and
other stars, which is bad for their health. The harm of the radiation won't be found until their
children even grandchildren are born. Some special medicine may work a little, but no really
effective medicine has been found so far.
Space rubbish is also thought to be a great danger to spacemen. It's reported that there
were 9,000 man-made things flying in space.About 30%of these are satellites,10%are
spaceships, and the rest are space rubbish. An explosion()in space in 1999 made a cloud
of 300,000 fragments(),each at least 4 mm in size.A small piece of these even knocked a
spaceship window and caused some damage(损坏).
Scientists are watching and reporting any possible danger all the time. They are working
to deal with space rubbish.Although space is really dangerous,
In the
near future,it may become possible for people to spend a few days in a space hotel. We may
even choose to leave the earth and live in space in a few years.
Space exploration will bring us more surprises and possibilities.
56.According to Paragraph1,what are spacemen facing while working in space?
57.Where is the radiation in space from?
58.According to the report in Paragraph 3,how many satellites were there in space?
59.Why does the writer use big numbers like"9,000"and 300,000"when talking about space
rubbish?
