1. What does the woman like to serve at her house?
A. Seafood dishes. B. Only vegetarian food. C. Rabbit and other meats.
2. What kind of event is the man planning?
A. A big party. B. A charity event. C. A cooking competition.
3. According to the woman, why is she so popular?
A. Her dishes are unique. B. Her dishes are simple. C. Her dishes are traditional.
M: I’m not sure why I agreed to let you cook the food for this event. Everything is probably going to taste like rabbit food.
W: Why on earth would you say something like that?
M: I’ve heard about the dinner parties at your house. Everything is green, and there’s no meat or fish at all.
W: Well, that’s what I like to serve because I don’t like to eat animals. But your charity event is a different story. People are paying money to attend, and that money is going directly to your non-profit organization. I would never serve paying guests the same food that I serve at home... unless they specifically request it.
M: Has that ever happened before?
W: You’re probably going to be surprised by this, but people actually request vegetarian food all the time.
M: Really? Why is that?
W: Well, I think there are two main reasons. The first is that there just aren’t that many good vegetarian cooks out there who can put together an event for 500 people. The second is that the food I make is actually pretty unique. I think it speaks for itself. I’d love to cook something simple for you to show you what I mean.
M: Can you cook any meat dishes?
W: Of course! I’m a professional chef!

W: Well, I guess we’d better hurry if we want good seats in the stadium. So, what events do you think will be the most exciting? And who are our best athletes?
M: Donna Brown runs the 100 meters for us and has a good shot at winning. Her biggest competitors are Betty Jordan from Florida and Jessie White from Texas. However, it is said that Jessie is the fastest.
W: I’ve always found the field events to be more exciting. Who do we have competing in those?
M: John Stamos, our best long jumper, is going for the national record today. He jumped 20 feet and 6 inches in the spring, and needs another two feet to match the national record. In the high jump, James Reynolds did the best, jumping 6 feet 7 inches last time.

Then I surf around on some music websites to see what the music journalists say about me. Then I leave the house and go to a small French cafe for breakfast. I enjoy relaxing with a cup of coffee, watching the world go by. At about eleven o’clock, my car arrives and takes me to the studio, where I meet the other members of the band and start working. Usually, we begin with the problems of the previous day. At about three in the afternoon, we stop for lunch. After that we continue recording. I am careful with my voice. Evie Riski, who just turned 100, has not missed a single day of writing since her father gave her a diary. It was a present for her 11th birthday, allowing her to continue the long-standing habit of recording the events in their family. “Every night, she would sit at the kitchen table, writing in that diary,” recalled (回想起) Riski’s daughter, Michelle Locken, 59. She said her mother also encouraged her to keep her own daily diary when she was young. “She bought me a diary when I was 10, and I’m so glad I did,” Locken said.
Almost everywhere she has traveled, Riski’s diary has gone with her except during hospital stays. “I wrote on paper and then I copied it to the diary when I got home,” Riski said. Her diaries are not only an excellent record of life over the years, but also a detailed reference (参考). “If someone has a disagreement about the correct birth date of a family member or how much it snowed in a certain year, all they have to do is look through my mom’s diaries,” Locken said. “My mom has a great memory. It’s all there.”
For the past seven years, Riski has lived at the Prairie Rose independent living center. “We often realize too late that time passes quickly, but Riski has found a way to celebrate her life,” administrator (管理员) Anna Halvorson said. “We value family here and the importance of living life to the fullest. Riski took part in our game nights and coffee hours, and then wrote down the activities. So we can look back at what we were doing.”
Different studies have shown that keeping a diary reduces stress and helps people form a healthier view of their lives. Riski has a deep understanding of this matter. “I have got a lot from keeping a diary. It doesn’t take much time every day, and it’s just a wonderful habit to get into,” she said. “Ninety years is a long time, but I’m happy that I did it.”
19. What can be learned about Riski’s habit of keeping a diary?
A. It follows a family tradition. B. It is out of personal interest.
C. It makes her daughter curious. D. It is based on travel experiences.
20. What role do Riski’s diaries play according to Locken?
A. Organizing daily notes clearly. B. Helping with science programs.
C. Offering some exact information. D. Providing stories for family relaxation.
21. What does Anna Halvorson probably think of Riski’s diaries?
A. Normal. B. Shocking. C. Humorous. D. Meaningful.
22. What can be the best title for the text?
A. Lifelong diaries shape a living journey
B. A father’s special gift brings fun to family
C. Diaries draw people to community activities
D. Diary-keeping becomes a stress-reducing habit
A 20. C 21. D 22. A

根据第一段中的“It was a present for her 11th birthday, allowing her to continue the long-standing habit of recording the events in their family.(这是她11岁生日的礼物,让她延续记录家里大事的悠久习惯。)”
根据第二段中的“If someone has a disagreement about the correct birth date of a family member or how much it snowed in a certain year, all they have to do is look through my mom’s diaries.(如果有人对某位家人准确的出生日期,或是某一年的降雪量存在争议,他们只需要翻阅我妈妈的日记就行。)”
根据第三段中的“We often realize too late that time passes quickly, but Riski has found a way to celebrate her life.(我们常常很晚才察觉时光飞逝,但Riski找到了记录、礼赞生活的方式。)”
通读全文,尤其是第四段中的“I have got a lot from keeping a diary. It doesn’t take much time every day, and it’s just a wonderful habit to get into. Ninety years is a long time, but I’m happy that I did it.(我从写日记中收获很多。每天花不了多久,这是很好的习惯。九十年很漫长,但我很庆幸坚持下来。)”可知,文章围绕主人公一生坚持写日记,用日记记录自己漫长的人生历程展开,“终身日记塑造人生旅程”最适合作为标题。
C
A new video is widely shared across TikTok: the cookie challenge. Two adults and one young child each have a covered plate in front of them. When the covers are taken away, the child has two cookies on their plate, while one parent has one cookie and the other has none. The big question is: will the child share his cookies with his parents?
Such a challenge about sharing isn’t just about giving something away; it includes considering the needs and feelings of others. Children have to realize they have more cookies than their parents, control their desire to eat the cookies immediately, and understand that their parents also want a treat. Research shows that children develop these skills over time. So, if a child doesn’t share, it doesn’t necessarily mean they’re selfish (自私的).
For children, sharing something valuable like a delicious cookie seems harder than sharing green vegetables. The taste of a cookie makes it harder for kids to fight their desire to keep the cookies they want for themselves. However, that doesn’t mean children think it’s fair to keep the extra one. This could be why we see some videos where the child takes the cookie from one parent and gives it to another.
Children can notice their parents’ feelings easily. Hearing their parent express sadness at not having any cookies causes the child to feel something. The parent’s disappointment leads the child to notice there is a problem. However, young children may not realize the parent wants a cookie without being guided. Preschoolers (学龄前儿童) often have trouble thinking about what others are thinking. These children can be taught to place themselves in their parents’ shoes to understand that their parents want a cookie as well.
Outside of the challenge, parents can encourage their children to build sharing behavior. Researchers have found that playing games like sharing toys and taking turns can help encourage good behavior over time and have long-term benefits.
23. What does the explanation in paragraph 2 stress about sharing?
A. It is a result of personal habits. B. It tests kids’ developing abilities.
C. It is about making a quick decision. D. It commonly happens among adults.
24. Which explains a child’s act of giving a parent’s cookie to another?
A. The fear of punishment. B. The wish for connection.
C. A guess about parents’ plans. D. A certain understanding of fairness.
25. What can help encourage children to share?
A. Showing clear expectations. B. Setting strict game rules.
C. Explaining the benefits. D. Offering nice gifts.
26. What is the author’s main purpose in writing the text?
A. To explain the trouble of sharing snacks.
B. To suggest some creative family activities.
C. To discuss the popularity of cookie challenges.
D. To explore children’s sharing behavior more deeply.
B 24. D 25. A 26. D
根据第二段中“Such a challenge about sharing isn’t just about giving something away; it includes considering the needs and feelings of others. Children have to realize they have more cookies than their parents, control their desire to eat the cookies immediately, and understand that their parents also want a treat. Research shows that children develop these skills over time.
根据第三段中“However, that doesn’t mean children think it’s fair to keep the extra one. This could be why we see some videos where the child takes the cookie from one parent and gives it to another. (但这并不意味着他们认为独占多余饼干是合理的行为。这或许这正能解释为何网络视频里,总能看到孩子从父母一方手中拿走饼干,转身却递给了另一个人)”可知,儿童通过重新分配饼干的行为,反映出其内心对公平分配的一定认知,他们会通过行动尝试纠正不公平现象。故选D项。
【25题详解】
推理判断题。根据第四段中“Children can notice their parents’ feelings easily. 故选A项。
根据第一段中“A new video is widely shared across TikTok: the cookie challenge.(一段新视频在TikTok上被广泛分享:饼干挑战)”,第二段中“Such a challenge about sharing isn’t just about giving something away; it includes considering the needs and feelings of others.(这种分享的挑战不仅仅是把东西给别人;它还包括考虑他人的需求和感受)”,第三段中“However, that doesn’t mean children think it’s fair to keep the extra one.(然而,这并不意味着孩子们认为保留多余的饼干是公平的)”,第四段中“Children can notice their parents’ feelings easily.(孩子们很容易注意到父母的感受)”以及第五段中“Outside of the challenge, parents can encourage their children to build sharing behavior.(在挑战之外,父母可以鼓励孩子养成分享行为)”可知,文章开篇以“饼干挑战”引入话题,接着从儿童认知发展角度分析分享行为背后的公平意识、共情能力等心理机制,并通过实验研究与教育实践提出培养策略,层层递进地探讨了儿童分享行为的本质与引导方法。故D项“To explore children’s sharing behavior more deeply (更深入地探讨儿童的分享行为)”最能概括文章核心目的。故选D项。
D
When people think of skiing (滑雪), they usually imagine snowy mountains like the Alps or the Rockies. But in Copenhagen, Denmark, there’s a surprising place to ski — the top of a power station!
This special power station is called the Amager Resource Center. On top of the building is CopenHill, a man-made mountain with a nearly 1,500-foot ski slope (斜坡), four ski lifts, a hiking line, a restaurant, a kids’ area, and more. If those weren’t mind-boggling enough, adventurers could climb the side of the mountain through the world’s highest climbing wall, which is 278 feet tall.
“As a flat country, there are no hills or mountains in Denmark suitable for adventure sports like skiing. So we got the idea of building a man-made mountain,” said Bjarke Ingels, founder of BIG, the company behind the CopenHill project. To serve the purpose of a mountain, CopenHill has its slope covered with Neveplast, a green plastic that feels similar to snow. It takes about three runs to get used to skiing on it, and skiers are advised to wear long clothes and hard hats in case they fall.
Denmark is a world leader in clean energy. The power station is part of the system by turning non-recyclable (不可回收的) waste into energy, providing heat and electricity for tens of thousands of families. For the design of the project, Ingels turned a decades-old building into a new structure (建筑物) that could be mixed into the city. The result was something that could not only change about 450,000 tons of non-recyclable waste into energy every year, but also attract tourists and locals looking for skiing fun.
“A power station doesn’t have to be an ugly box that influences views or goes against its neighboring buildings. It can be the most popular park in the city,” said Ingels. After years of making, CopenHill finally opened in 2019. The design has been named one of the year’s 50 best inventions. This project is showing the world that clean tech presents almost endless possibilities.
27. What does the underlined word “mind-boggling” probably mean in paragraph 2?
A. Amazing. B. Strange. C. Costly. D. Common.
28. Why was the idea of CopenHill introduced?
A. To deal with plastic pollution. B. To make skiing safer for visitors.
C. To improve the nation’s transportation. D. To create mountain sports experiences.
29. What is special about the design of the project?
A. Taking practical advice from tourists. B. Valuing the use of traditional materials.
C. Bringing eco-friendliness and relaxation. D. Offering education on new energy technology.
30. What does Ingels stress about the power station in the last paragraph?
A. It has been built on great inventions. B. It forms an attractive part of the city.
C. It has received mixed opinions. D. It takes up little public space.
A 28. D 29. C 30. B
根据第二段中“On top of the building is CopenHill, a man-made mountain with a nearly 1,500-foot ski slope (斜坡), four ski lifts, a hiking line, a restaurant, a kids’ area, and more. If those weren’t mind-boggling enough, adventurers could climb the side of the mountain through the world’s highest climbing wall, which is 278 feet tall. 故选A项。
根据第三段中““As a flat country, there are no hills or mountains in Denmark suitable for adventure sports like skiing. So we got the idea of building a man-made mountain,” said Bjarke Ingels, founder of BIG, the company behind the CopenHill project. (“丹麦地势平坦,全国没有适合开展滑雪等冒险运动的丘陵山脉。因此我们萌生了建造人造山的想法,”CopenHill项目承建公司BIG的创始人比亚克·英格斯说道。)”可知,引入CopenHill的想法是为了创造山地运动体验,弥补丹麦自然地形不足的问题。故选D项。
【29题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段中“For the design of the project, Ingels turned a decades-old building into a new structure (建筑物) that could be mixed into the city. The result was something that could not only change about 450,000 tons of non-recyclable waste into energy every year, but also attract tourists and locals looking for skiing fun. (在项目设计过程中,Ingels将一座已有数十年历史的老旧建筑改造成能与城市融为一体的新结构。最终建成的设施不仅每年能将约45万吨不可回收垃圾转化为能源,还吸引了众多寻求滑雪乐趣的游客和当地居民。)”可知,该项目的特别之处在于其设计结合了环保(将不可回收废物转化为能源)和休闲娱乐(提供滑雪等冒险运动场所)的功能。故选C项。
【30题详解】
细节理解题。根据最后一段中Ingels所说的话“A power station doesn’t have to be an ugly box that influences views or goes against its neighboring buildings. It can be the most popular park in the city (发电站不一定是一个影响视野或与邻近建筑格格不入的丑陋盒子。它可以成为这个城市最受欢迎的公园)”可知,Ingels强调发电站并非仅仅是功能性的设施,也可以成为这个城市最受欢迎的公园,成为城市中具有吸引力的部分。故选B项。

阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
The world of fitness is always reinventing itself. Therefore, it’s not unusual to hear the name of a new practice almost overnight. One of the latest practices is “hiplet”. As the name suggests, it is a modern dance where classical ballet meets the rising hip-hop music. ____31____
Hiplet started with dancer Homer Hans Bryant in the 1990s. He believed that dance should be open to everyone. He created hiplet to connect classical ballet with modern street dance. ____32____ In 2016, a hit video of hiplet on Instagram reached thousands of Internet users. And it became a passport to television appearances including ones on ABC News and Good Morning America.
____33____ This dance connects the artistic skills of ballet with the sharp, lively and free movements from modern art forms like hip-hop. The creative style challenges the traditional ballet world by including African-American movements and other lively dance forms. It is a perfect example of how old and new can come together.
Hiplet looks modern and fun. ____34____ Ballet is key to hiplet. Since dancers perform in pointe shoes (足尖鞋), it still requires strong ballet skills and years of training to practice this style. Without acting properly, it could be dangerous for the dancers. That’s why most dancers begin with ballet before performing hiplet.
Today, hiplet dancers have performed on TV shows, at famous events, and even overseas. ____35____ Many of hiplet dancers are African American or from different community backgrounds. They have brought hiplet to the rest of the world. It’s not just a new dance form. It’s also a way for different dancers to share culture, express identity (身份) and encourage others.
A. Its popularity grew through digital media.
B. Schools also offer hiplet classes to children.
C. Young dancers often choose ballet to stay fit.
D. The two art forms bring a fresh style to dance.
E. But mastering it is far from easy for beginners.

根据空前的“As the name suggests, it is a modern dance where classical ballet meets the rising hip-hop music.(顾名思义,它是一种融合古典芭蕾与新兴嘻哈音乐的现代舞蹈。)” D选项“The two art forms bring a fresh style to dance(这两种艺术形式为舞蹈带来了全新风格)”中的The two art forms指代上文的classical ballet和hip-hop music,承接上文内容,逻辑连贯。
根据空后的“In 2016, a hit video of hiplet on Instagram reached thousands of Internet users. And it became a passport to television appearances including ones on ABC News and Good Morning America.(2016年,一段hiplet热门视频在照片墙吸引数千网友,它也借此登上美国广播公司新闻与《早安美国》等电视节目。)” A选项“Its popularity grew through digital media(它的人气借助数字媒体不断攀升)”总领下文网络传播的事例,语义匹配。
根据空后的“This dance connects the artistic skills of ballet with the sharp, lively and free movements from modern art forms like hip-hop.(这种舞蹈结合芭蕾的艺术技巧与嘻哈这类现代艺术利落、鲜活、自由的动作。)” G选项“Hiplet is characterized by a mix of beauty and energy(Hiplet兼具美感与活力的特点)”,beauty对应芭蕾的艺术美感,energy对应嘻哈利落鲜活的动作,概括本段主旨。
以及空后的“Ballet is key to hiplet. Since dancers perform in pointe shoes (足尖鞋), it still requires strong ballet skills and years of training to practice this style.(芭蕾是hiplet的核心。舞者需要穿足尖鞋表演,掌握这种舞蹈依旧需要扎实的芭蕾功底与多年训练。)”可知,前文描述hiplet观感轻松有趣,后文转而说明它对舞者功底要求很高,前后存在转折逻辑。E选项“But mastering it is far from easy for beginners(但对初学者而言,掌握它绝非易事)”用but形成转折,衔接前后两层含义。
根据空后的“Many of hiplet dancers are African American or from different community backgrounds. They have brought hiplet to the rest of the world. It’s not just a new dance form. It’s also a way for different dancers to share culture, express identity (身份) and encourage others.(许多hiplet舞者是非裔美国人或来自不同社群背景。他们把hiplet带到世界各地。它不只是一种新舞蹈,也是不同舞者分享文化、表达身份、鼓舞他人的途径。)”可知,后文跳出舞蹈表演本身,介绍hiplet背后的文化价值。F选项“Beyond the stage, hiplet carries cultural meaning(舞台之外,hiplet承载着文化内涵)”总括本段,引出下文文化层面的阐述。

Kevin was pretty bored. His mother was at work, and his father had been away on business. Therefore, he was left in the care of Mrs. Hill, an old lady who lived next door. His parents had raised the 12-year-old to be a good boy. He never got into trouble, though sometimes he wanted to do risky things. Mrs. Hill was asleep. Kevin sighed (叹息) and hoped something exciting would happen. Suddenly, a movement outside caught his eye.
Mrs. Hill’s front window faced Mr. and Mrs. Green’s house across the street. The couple had both gone to work, so it was strange that someone was over there. Kevin stared at the man at their front door. Suddenly, the man jumped through an open window into the house. With his heart in his mouth, Kevin grabbed Mrs. Hill’s home phone and called the police.
Thinking that the man might get away with whatever he wanted before the police arrived, Kevin decided to do something. He rushed out of Mrs. Hill’s house and crossed the street quickly. Grabbing a branch from a cut-down tree, he jumped in through the window. “Stop right there! You must leave right now!” he called out, holding the branch with both hands.
The man froze for a second, but when he saw the skinny boy he breathed a sigh of relief. “Hey, kid, put that down. It was my home. My parents used to live here and my father’s watch was here,” he explained, trying to lift a floorboard.
At that moment, the sounds of a police car echoed (回响) in the air. The man stood up in a panic, then ran through the house toward the window and jumped out. Kevin followed out and told the arriving police officers what had happened. They pursued and arrested the man.
Kevin went back to Mrs. Hill’s house. Somehow he wasn’t sure he had done the right thing. “What if he has told the truth?” he thought to himself. The man’s words sounded pretty convincing.

One possible version:
When Mr. and Mrs. Green got home, Kevin went to talk to them. He explained how he had witnessed the strange man entering their house and how he was arrested. Mr. and Mrs. Green listened attentively, with a mixture of surprise and gratitude on their faces. Mrs. Green hugged Kevin, thanking him for his bravery. Mr. Green, however, looked thoughtful. He asked Kevin to describe the man in detail and then revealed that the man was indeed his younger brother, who had come to retrieve a watch their father had left behind. Kevin's eyes widened in shock.
Kevin and Mr. Green took the watch they had found to the police station. On the way, Mr. Green explained that the watch was a family heirloom, passed down from generation to generation. At the police station, they explained the situation to the officers, who were surprised but understanding. The man, who had been released after his identity was verified, was waiting outside. He smiled weakly at Kevin, who felt a mix of embarrassment and relief. Mr. Green handed over the watch to his brother with a pat on the back, and they all agreed to keep in touch. Kevin learned an important lesson that day: always verify the facts before taking action, but never hesitate to help those in need.
