一、Teaching Objectives

1. Students can say, read and spell the four season words: spring, summer, autumn, winter.

2. Students can ask and answer "Which season do you like? I like ... I can ..." in real situations.

3. Students can complete a survey about classmates' favourite seasons and report the results using "XX students like ...".

二、Key Points and Difficult Points

Key Points:

1. Season words: spring, summer, autumn, winter.

2. Sentence patterns: "Which season do you like?" "I like ... I can ..."

Difficult Points:

1. Pronunciation of "autumn" /'ɔːtəm/ and "summer" /'sʌmə/.

2. Using numbers to report survey results: "Thirty students like spring. Fifteen students like summer."

三、Teaching Tools

PPT slides with season pictures, season word cards, a survey table drawn on the blackboard, realia (a small fan for wind, a toy snowman, a leaf).

四、Teaching Procedures

Step1: Warm-up and lead-in (5 mins)

1. Teacher shows four beautiful pictures of different seasons on PPT and asks: "What season is it?" Students guess quickly.

2. Teacher reviews weather words from Unit 5 with flash cards: sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, snowy. Students read aloud.

3. Teacher says: "Different weather makes different seasons. Today let's talk about seasons."

[Purpose] To activate students' prior knowledge about weather and lead naturally to the topic of seasons.

Step2: Presentation (15 mins)

1. Teacher shows a picture of spring (flowers, green grass) and says: "It's warm in spring." Writes "spring" on the board and drills: /sprɪŋ/ spring.

2. Teacher repeats the same procedure for summer (beach, sun), autumn (fallen leaves, cool), and winter (snow, cold). Students read after the recording.

3. Teacher plays the dialogue recording: "Which season do you like? Winter. I can make a snowman." Students listen and point to the winter picture.

4. Teacher asks: "Why does he like winter?" Students answer: "He can make a snowman." Teacher writes "I can make a snowman" on the board and drills the sentence.

5. Teacher shows activity cards (fly a kite, read books, go swimming, play football) and asks students to match with seasons: "In spring, we can fly a kite."
