阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making our lives easier in many areas, from automating tasks to extracting information from big data files. However, not everything AI does is in our best interest. AI password cracking has also increased because AI can hack (破解) passwords in seconds.
A recent report led by Rahul Mahna's team from the University of East London found that an AI password cracker called PassGAN could crack any seven-digit password in less than six minutes—even if the passwords contained symbols, numbers, and capital and lowercase letters. Additionally, the AI cracked 51% of these usual types of passwords within a minute, 65% within an hour, 71% within a day and 81% within a month. After seeing these worrying results, you'll undoubtedly take online security more seriously.
How can you protect your passwords from these hackers? Mahna suggests the following methods to help you protect yourself against hackers.
Unique passwords everywhere
Mahna emphasizes having different passwords for each website, device or service. Don't worry about remembering all these passwords, since password managers can not only store your passwords but can also generate unique combinations for you.
Long passwords
Using long passwords that include numbers, capital and lowercase letters and symbols—and are not easily understood or inferred—will enhance the protection element.
Personal privacy
Posting too much information online—like on Facebook or Instagram—about your life is not a good idea if you're concerned about security. It can provide information about your location, valuables and family.
If you assume you've been hacked, don't scan for viruses or change passwords until you have disconnected from the Internet. The best way to handle an attack is to prepare in advance, like changing your passwords frequently.
21. What can be learned about the AI tool PassGAN from the passage?
A. It helps keep large data files safe.
B. It breaks passwords at a remarkably high speed.
C. It keeps online accounts well protected.
D. It creates distinctive passwords for users.
22. Which measure does the writer suggest to guard against password attacks?
A. Try to memorize every password by heart.
B. Cut down on personal details shared online.
C. Set passwords closely related to family.
D. Apply a single password to most websites.
23. What should be done first once you suspect a hacking attack?
A. Run a virus scan on the device.
B. Replace the passwords without delay.
C. Reset the password management tool.
D. Disconnect the device from the network.

Container shipping moves roughly 95% of the world's manufactured goods across the oceans and underpins the global economy, yet this efficient system is surprisingly modern. For centuries cargo travelled in sacks, barrels and crates, and ships often spent more time in port being loaded by hand than at sea. Little changed until 1956, when American truck driver Malcolm McLean stacked 58 metal boxes on a ship from New Jersey to Houston — an idea that revolutionized the industry overnight and gave birth to the modern supply chain.
McLean's insight was simple but radical: treat the box, not the goods inside, as the basic unit of transport. Once containers were adopted, trucks and trains could carry them straight from ship to door without repackaging, and container sizes were standardized. In 1966 the first transatlantic container service began; two years later a modern ship carried 752 standard boxes. Ports that once employed thousands of dockworkers now run with giant cranes and a fraction of the staff, slashing loading times. Cargo then moved from vessels to rail and road in huge volumes, cutting transport costs by at least 75% and giving rise to giants such as Maersk, CMA CGM and COSCO.
By the 1980s about 90% of manufactured goods were containerized, and globalization accelerated. Yet the industry has not always sailed smoothly: too many ships triggered price wars that cut the top carriers from 20 to 11. Environmentalists also blame shipping for a quarter of the world's nitrogen oxide pollution, prompting operators to adopt cleaner fuels like natural gas. The same boxes that carry toys and phones also move vaccines and food aid, binding distant economies into a single market.
Today container ships can stand as tall as the Empire State Building if turned upright and carry over 20,000 boxes each; shipping one iPad from Shanghai to Hamburg costs only about five cents. Looking ahead, crewless battery-powered ships and blockchain-based cargo tracking promise to cut costs and paperwork still further, while smart ports use artificial intelligence to load thousands of boxes in minutes rather than days.
24. What is the passage mainly about?
A. The history and wide impact of container shipping.
B. How ancient sea trade differs from modern shipping.
C. Why Malcolm McLean became a successful truck driver.
D. The environmental problems caused by large container ships.
25. What happened in 1956 according to the passage?
A. The first transatlantic container service was launched.
B. Container sizes were officially standardized worldwide.
C. A truck driver's metal-box shipment started the container era.
D. A modern ship carried 752 standard containers at one time.
26. What was one major effect of container standardization?
A. It ended the use of trucks and trains in shipping.
B. It reduced transport costs by at least 75%.
C. It increased the number of dock workers needed.
D. It slowed globalization during the 1980s.
27. What can be inferred about the future of container shipping?
A. Crewless ships will replace all current vessels very soon.
B. It will grow more automated but less cost-efficient.
C. Environmental pollution will no longer be a concern.
D. It will keep expanding with cleaner and smarter technology.
C
Every December, my house turns into the island of unwanted gifts. People are kind, but there are only so many candied nut tins and sugar cookies one family can consume.
Let me not forget my wedding-regift incident. We received an expensive electric teakettle but don't drink tea, so we returned it and got $75. Later the store manager called, furious (非常愤怒), accusing us of trading them junk. Someone had bought the kettle and found a used Easter basket inside — that person had regifted it to us. We paid the store back and kept that ugly basket.
This made me wonder: is regifting a form of rudeness? To find out, let's explore both sides of the regifting debate. Like many modern dilemmas, it sits at the crossroads of etiquette and practicality, and reasonable people disagree.
Humans have regifted since the dawn of time. Caveman A gives Caveman B a rock; Caveman B gives it to Caveman C. We call that anthropology (人类学). Modern life demands efficiency. Why let something sit unused in a cabinet? Give that brand-new item to someone who will actually use it. It's economical and environmentally friendly.
And yet, regifting is a high-risk sport. It requires memory and strategy. Give the gift to the wrong person, and suddenly people text: “Didn't I give this to you?” It goes terribly wrong if you misjudge a person's taste, so don't regift within the same social circle, and remove all the evidence (cards, receipts). Never give spa products to someone who hates lotions (乳液).
My ruling? Regifting is not rude. Thoughtlessness is rude; waste is rude. But giving something new, unused and suited to another's preferences is generosity in its most practical form. After all, a gift's true purpose is to bring joy, not to gather dust on a shelf. So go ahead — regift joyfully, wisely and guilt-free.
28. What does the word “furious” in paragraph 2 most probably mean?
A. Puzzled. B. Discouraged.
C. Irritated. D. Astonished.
29. Why does the writer bring up the example of “Caveman”?
A. To show that regifting dates back to ancient times.
B. To illustrate the efficiency of human beings.
C. To recommend the right way to regift.
D. To clarify what early anthropology studied.
30. Which situation best illustrates a proper regift?
A. Sending a skin lotion to a workmate.
B. Returning an expensive present to the shop.
C. Passing around fresh biscuits with a neighbor.
D. Offering an appropriate scarf to a new acquaintance.
31. What is the author's attitude towards regifting?
A. He regards it as acceptable when carried out with care.
B. He believes it is always impolite and wasteful.
C. He holds that it ought to be forbidden by law.
D. He views it as clearly damaging to the earth.
D
Quantum mechanics, formulated nearly a century ago by pioneers such as Schrödinger and Heisenberg, shattered the classical belief in a fully predictable universe. On the tiny scale of atoms, particles can occupy several positions simultaneously and slip through barriers no solid object could cross. Two counter-intuitive principles — superposition and entanglement — now underpin a wave of new quantum technologies that laboratories around the world are racing to commercialize.
Superposition allows a particle to hold two mutually exclusive states at the same time; only when measured does it “collapse” into one definite outcome. Entanglement ties two particles so closely that reading one instantly determines the other, no matter how far apart they lie. Einstein dismissed this as “spooky action at a distance,” yet repeated, rigorous experiments have since verified it beyond doubt, clearing the path for applications once dismissed as science fiction.
These ideas are already reshaping computation. A quantum computer manipulates qubits that are simultaneously 0 and 1, enabling it to test many possibilities at once and outperform classical machines on tasks such as optimizing delivery routes or modeling molecules for new medicines. In 2019 Google reported that its prototype solved a calculation no ordinary computer could finish in a practical span of time — a landmark the field calls “quantum supremacy.” Quantum sensing is a second frontier: sensors of extreme sensitivity can detect earthquakes seconds earlier, sharpen self-driving navigation, or image brain activity to flag early dementia.
Most dramatic of all, quantum cryptography promises to reinvent security. Present-day encryption shields our bank transfers and messages, but a future quantum computer could unravel it in moments; quantum encryption turns the tables by warning users the instant an eavesdropper looks, since any observation disturbs the fragile quantum state. Of course, large-scale, fault-tolerant machines remain years away, and engineers still battle noise and fragility. Even so, the strange rules of the quantum world have already rewritten our understanding of nature, and they look set to reshape finance, medicine and communication for decades to come.
32. What is the passage mainly about?
A. The life stories of famous quantum physicists.
B. Why Einstein rejected the idea of quantum mechanics.
C. How quantum ideas are applied in new technologies.
D. The complete history of classical computers.
33. What can we learn about superposition from the passage?
A. It makes particles move much more slowly.
B. It lets a particle be in two states at the same time.
C. It was first proved correct by Albert Einstein.
D. It only happens in large everyday objects.
34. Why does the author mention encryption?
A. To show a security application of quantum technology.
B. To explain how to shop online safely.
C. To prove that classical computers are now useless.
D. To describe the history of computer passwords.
35. What can be inferred about quantum technology?
A. It will replace all classical technology at once.
B. It will be used mainly for entertainment.
C. It will probably affect many fields in the future.
D. It remains only a theoretical idea for now.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Secondary Emotions and How to Handle Them
Imagine you've been working for hours before a deadline, but you feel like you're getting nowhere. You're starting to feel really anxious. At this point, you might start to blame yourself for having this emotion. Now you have two emotions: feeling anxious about getting work done and feeling frustrated that you are anxious. When the second emotion gets layered on top of the first emotion, you often feel worse and are even less likely to reach your goals. You may now be wondering if it is possible to make the second emotion less likely. 36________
Many people have heard of “mindfulness”. It is often associated with doing a meditation (凝想) practice, but its essence is to be more aware and accepting of your present-moment experience. 37________ Acceptance can limit judgmental thoughts and unhelpful secondary emotions. Let me explain. Picture yourself in a challenging situation like the scenario described above and you feel anxiety arising. Instead of getting upset at yourself for having this emotion, you bring your awareness to the experience of the emotion and accept it. You might feel that this anxiety is not fun to experience. 38________ With this attitude of acceptance, and stepping away from the tendency to fight against the emotion, you are less likely to get stuck in a loop of judgmental thoughts that might trigger more unwanted emotions.
39________ But evidence suggests that it works. That is probably because accepting yourself, including your emotions, relieves pressure. You stop adding fuel to the emotional fire when you release judgmental thoughts about your emotions.
40________ For instance, you could turn down the volume on the initial emotion, perhaps by seeing the situation from a new perspective or asking someone for support.
A. Thankfully, research suggests that the answer is yes.
B. You can't be productive even when you have more inner space.
C. Then you may question if you are feeling anxious about getting work done.
D. Yet you know you can breathe it through and that it is just a passing emotion.
E. Sometimes the experience includes an unpleasant emotion you don't want to feel.
F. It might sound unreasonable that embracing an unpleasant emotion can be a good thing.
G. You also create more inner space to determine whether you can do something that helps.

Grandma worked as a housewife all her life. For decades, she cooked, cleaned, and cared for everyone in the family. When her children grew up and moved away, the busy rhythm that had filled her days disappeared overnight. The house stayed spotless, yet strangely lifeless. She often stood by the window, watching people hurrying by, as if the whole world were moving forward while she stood still, unsure of where she truly belonged. To fill the long afternoons, she picked up her old hobby—knitting (编织). Most afternoons, her needles clicked softly in the quiet house. She kept knitting sweaters for me, though I never wore them—as a member of the school hands-on club, I admired her superb skills, but they felt too old-fashioned compared with what I could buy online. Still, she never seemed to mind, smiling as she went on knitting.
One day, I noticed her constantly talking to her phone. I thought she was calling a friend, but guess what? She was livestreaming, showing people online how to knit a sweater! I couldn't believe it! The technology itself seemed far beyond her. “Maybe I can still be useful,” she told me with a shy smile as she balanced her phone against a teacup for support.
However, the comments online were far from friendly. “Who would watch this?” someone wrote. “Go take a rest, Granny,” another added. I saw her hands tremble for a moment before she steadied them again.
I wanted to fire back, but was stopped by Grandma. “Even if only one person learns things from me, it's worth it.” Still, a quiet sadness remained in her eyes. Each evening, she sat under the lamp, her needles clicking busily, her voice soft but determined as she livestreamed to a nearly empty audience. Watching her persistence, I felt both proud and helpless—I longed to ease her struggle, yet the right way to reach her seemed just beyond my grasp.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150词左右;

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分)
第一节 应用文写作(范文,约80词)
Dear fellow students,
In an age of information explosion, we are often troubled by false news. Therefore, the Student Union calls on you to become a wise reader.
First, check the source before trusting a story and verify it through reliable media. Equally important is thinking critically, which helps us tell facts from rumours rather than follow the crowd. Only by reading with reason can we avoid being misled.
Read responsibly, for a careless click may mislead. Be a wise reader, and make every choice count!
The Student Union
(Therefore / First / Equally important / rather than / Only by / for),并运用考纲内高级句式:表语前置完全倒装“Equally important is thinking critically”、非限制性定语从句“which helps us…”、Only 引导的部分倒装“Only by reading with reason can we…”。
第二节 读后续写(范文,约150词)
Paragraph 1:
Then an idea hit me — Grandma could join our hands-on club! I shared the plan with my clubmates, and they loved it. We set up a cozy corner at our next fair, decorated with her sweaters, and helped her film short, clear knitting tutorials. To our surprise, the warm, patient voice that had once spoken to an empty room now drew a real crowd of curious students. Some even picked up needles themselves.
Paragraph 2:
With club friends' help, Grandma soon became an Internet celebrity as “Knitting Granny.” Her follower count climbed into the thousands, and orders for her sweaters poured in. More importantly, she found a new sense of belonging — no longer the lonely figure by the window, but a beloved teacher online. Watching her laugh as she livestreamed to a full audience, I realized that age is never a barrier to being useful. Her needles kept clicking, now with joy instead of quiet sadness.
要点:情绪由孤独转向喜悦、细节具体(tutorials、follower count、orders)、主题句收尾(age is never a barrier),词数约 150。
