四、阅读理解
Every October, our school holds a sports meeting on the playground. For three days, students put down their books and take part in all kinds of events. Some run races, some jump, and some throw the ball. The whole school becomes a noisy, exciting place, and even the quietest students want to have a try.
This year, a boy named Peter from Class Two decided to do something different. Instead of just watching, he wanted to invite his friends to run the 3,000-metre race with him. “Come along and train with me every morning,” he told them. “It is hard at first, but we can make it together.”
At first, only two classmates joined him. They got up early and worked out on the track before class. After two weeks, more students came, and soon there were ten of them. Their teacher, Mr Li, was pleased and said that they had set a good example for the whole school.
On the last day of the sports meeting, the 3,000-metre race began. The audience stood along the track and cheered loudly. Peter did not win the race; he came fifth. But when he crossed the finish line, he was smiling. “I may not be the fastest, but I am much stronger than I was,” he said.
After the sports meeting, Peter and his friends kept running every morning. They learned that sport is not only about winning medals. It is also about friendship, teamwork and never losing heart. For them, the real prize was the healthy habit they had built together.

五、阅读七选五
Many people want to start exercising, but few can keep it up for long. They often begin with a big plan and give it up after a week. 31 Here are some simple tips to help you start and keep going.
First, start small. You do not need to run five kilometres on your first day. 32 Even ten minutes of walking or jogging is a good beginning. When your body gets used to it, you can add more little by little.
Second, choose something you enjoy. If you hate running, try badminton, swimming or dancing. 33 When exercise feels like fun, you will look forward to it instead of avoiding it.
Third, make it part of your daily life. Walk or ride a bike to school if you can. Take the stairs instead of the lift. 34 Small choices like these add up and make a real difference.
Finally, do not give up when you miss a day. Everyone has busy or tired days. 35 Just begin again the next day, and never lose heart. In this way, exercise will become a habit that stays with you for life.
A.Remember that any exercise is better than none.
B.It is also a good way to make new friends.
C.You must buy the most expensive sports shoes first.
D.The secret is not a heavy plan but a lasting habit.
E.Every little move you make during the day counts.
F.So do not be too hard on yourself.
G.Watching sports on TV is more relaxing than doing it.
