As time goes by, I have greatly improved my skills. ②Now I am on my school badminton team, which makes me very proud.
Not only does playing badminton build up my body, but also it helps me make a lot of new friends. It makes my life more enjoyable.
Yours,
Li Hua
67. I fell hard to the ground. At this moment I felt sad and ashamed that I couldn't finish the race. I lay on the ground, unwilling to face the fact and the crowds. I imagined the sneering faces and don't know how to react. Suddenly a hand reached out to me. I raised my head and found it's Matt. "Let's run together." he said. There was just sincerity on his face, no mock. I believed I should trust him, and gave him my hand.
Arm by arm, we walked towards the finish line. The crowds fell into silence, and then broke into loud applause. What did they applaud for? I think I know. Bowing to Matt, I thanked Matt for his help and admitted he was the champion. "No, I participate in the race not for the champion, just for the participation. You are very excellent." he said. I was surprised at first, and then realized that the full engagement and good faith deserved the real champion.

由Yoga中的“... designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress.”
由Pilates中的最后两句“Unlike some types of exercises... It focuses on core strength while training the body as an inseparable one.” 故选A。
由第一段“ Do you want to work out to stay healthy? The following are some home workouts you can try.”
根据第三段中“'When I was in the third grade, my teacher, Mr Durrant, gave everyone a $2 bill to do something good. He called it the $2 experiment,' Jefferson explained.”以及“I'll buy some cups with this $2 and have my parents make hot chocolate. Then, I'll make a hot chocolate stand and use the money I've made to buy gifts for kids at Primary Children's.”
根据第四段中“'In 2016, my little sister passed away at Primary Children's,' said Emma Jolley. 'That sparked(引起) my family to join because they decided to do it in her honor. Since then, my family has always been a part of it.'”
根据第六段中“'It's not really a fundraiser. It's more of an event and a tradition for our neighborhood. It's something that brings people together. We are doing it because it shows how people can come together for something greater,' Jefferson said.”

根据第二段中的“whether those minutes are spent exercising with a friend or as part of a game has been ignored”可知,以往的研究忽视了体育活动的社交环境。故选B。
根据第五段最后一句中的“we also need to ask: What is the context?”

The increase in viewership platforms in the digital age has enabled many fans to explore their favourite niche sports more deeply, while others actively discover new sports to follow and enjoy.(流媒体在全球的普及为小众体育迷提供了观看国际体育节目的便捷途径,也为传统主流体育迷提供了了解小众体育的途径。
根据第二段“Among the most noticeable developments in recent years that have caught the fansˈ attention is the rise of niche sports leagues(联赛). They attract thousands of fans to watch their games, and their television viewers reach millions. Given how quickly sports followers warm up to the leagues, everyone seems to know about them, which brings up some questions—who are watching these games and what makes a niche sports fan?(近年来,最引人注目且吸引粉丝关注的发展趋势之一,便是小众体育联赛的兴起。
根据第三段“According to a recent Global Web Index report on niche sports followers, a niche sports fan is a person who follows or watches at least five niche sports leagues or events. More than half of niche sports fans fall within the 25—44 age range. They are excited about the sports content shown on streaming media, and are more likely to pay for such services compared to the general population. And they are more likely to use many kinds of second screens in sports seasons, including laptops, smartwatches, and smartphones.(根据Global Web Index最近发布的一份关于小众体育迷的报告,小众体育迷是指关注或观看至少五个小众体育联赛或赛事的人。
根据最后一段中的“Managing Director Peter Cosco from Isos Growth Advisory, a sports investment company, said, ‘Technological advancement helps fans get involved in sports, but it cannot guarantee success. Developing fan love for a new sport, especially a niche one, takes careful management of resources, a well thought-out plan, good relationships with the right people, and the ‘playˈ factor. That is, is it fun to play and fun to watch?ˈ(体育投资公司Isos Growth Advisory的总经理Peter Cosco表示:‘技术进步有助于体育迷参与体育运动,但并不能保证一定能成功。

故选A。
根据“I didnˈt like any of them”可知,作者不喜欢这些运动,它们都是爸爸强迫(forced)作者做的。故选C。

故选A。

53. 根据教练的话“Donˈt worry about the steps. Have fun. Do your own thing.”
54. 根据“and it also did so much more”可知,前面讲的也是尊巴的一个好处,故这里指尊巴挽救(save)了作者,使其避免了增重15磅。故选D。
55. make peace with为固定短语,意为“与…… 此处与第一段中的“Exercise and I had never had a good relationship”呼应,故选C。

"When I was in the third grade, my teacher, Mr Durrant, gave everyone a $2 bill to do something good. He called it the $2 experiment," Jefferson explained. "In my little third-grade mind, I thought, 'I'll buy some cups with this $2 and have my parents make hot chocolate. Then, I'll make a hot chocolate stand and use the money I've made to buy gifts for kids at Primary Children's.' I was born premature(早产的) and had to visit the hospital a lot."
As long-time family friends, the Penrods decided to host the stand in memory of Hannah Jolley. "In 2016, my little sister passed away at Primary Children's," said Emma Jolley. "That sparked(引起) my family to join because they decided to do it in her honor. Since then, my family has always been a part of it."
With the money earned, the families bought toys for the children at the hospital. "The first year, we made $100, which was cool," Jefferson said. "The next year, we thought, 'Let's do it again.'"
Each year since then, the stand has grown. Hundreds come to support the cause and gather as a community. "It's not really a fundraiser. It's more of an event and a tradition for our neighborhood. It's something that brings people together. We are doing it because it shows how people can come together for something greater," Jefferson said.
The Penrod and Jolley families hope to continue the tradition and pass it along to whoever is willing to help.

Research often points to exercise as a good way to improve mental health, but a recent study from the University of Georgia suggests that itˈs not just physical movement that affects mental health. Itˈs how, where and why you exercise that makes the difference.
“In previous(以前的)research, research on physical activity has focused on how long someone exercises for or how many calories are burned,” said Patrick OˈConnor, a co-author of the study. “The amount of exercise has been the main way researchers have tried to understand how physical activity might influence mental health, while whether those minutes are spent exercising with a friend or as part of a game has been ignored.”
Many studies find that people who take part in regular leisure-time physical activity, like going for a run, taking a yoga class or biking for fun, tend to report lower levels of anxiety. But while leisure-time physical activity offers better mental health outcomes, these benefits may vary greatly depending on the environment of the activity, according to the researchers.
“For example, if a soccer player runs down the field and kicks the game-winning ball, their mental health is fantastic,” OˈConnor said. “In contrast, if you do exactly the same exercise but miss the goal and people are blaming(责备)you, you are likely to feel very different.”
Many studies also showed that adopting regular exercise routines improved mental health, especially for individuals with existing mental health disorders. However, these studies were typically based on similar samples, so the results are probably not suitable for more diverse groups. “If weˈre trying to improve peopleˈs mental health through exercise, then not only do we need to think about the amount and the mode, but we also need to ask: What is the context(背景)?” OˈConnor said.
For OˈConnor, the key point is clear. Itˈs not just movement that matters. Itˈs the meaning, the context and the experience of the activity that determine the influence of exercise on mental health.
28.What has been largely overlooked in previous research?
A. The time length and type of the workout.
B. The social environment of physical activity.
C. The number of calories burned during exercise.
D. The physical health outcomes of regular exercise.
29.What can we learn from the example of the soccer player?
A. Winning ensures mental health benefits.
B. Playing football can improve mental health.
C. Blame from others leads to bad mental health.
D. Context matters in how exercise affects mental health.
30.What does OˈConnor suggest researchers do?
A. Avoid studying people with mental health disorders.
B. Focus more on the amount of exercise in future studies.
C. Pay attention to the context of exercise in their research.
D. Prove what is the real effect of exercise on mental health.
31.Which situation best matches the “context effect” described in the text?
A. Lily buys lighter running shoes and runs faster.
B. Ben sleeps nine hours the night after swimming.
C. Mary loses 2 kg after keeping jogging 5 km every day for a month.
D. Tom feels great cycling with friends but bored when cycling alone.

Many people believe that staying healthy requires hard exercise, but this isnˈt always true. A popular fitness idea called “zone zero” shows that even very easy activities can bring great health benefits.
(36) In heart rate training, physical activities are grouped into five levels. Zone zero is the easiest level—it includes any movement that keeps your heart rate below 50% of its highest level. Common zone zero activities include slow walking after meals, easy cycling, playing with pets, or doing light housework.
Why is this helpful? For people who sit most of the day, adding gentle movement can greatly improve the blood flow, help control blood pressure, and keep blood sugar at healthy levels. Health experts say that people who start moving after sitting all day get the clearest health improvement. (37)
Remember, “zone zero” should not replace harder exercise. If you have already worked out, it is a good addition. (38) It is also useful for “weekend warriors”—people active only on weekends—as it reduces the harm of sitting too long.
The best part is that itˈs simple. You donˈt need to overthink it. (39) Just move more in enjoyable ways: climb the stairs, walk more, or garden. The key is to enjoy what you do and keep doing it.

The Real Champion
I like running and for me, success was winning every race I participated in. My classmates called me Incredible Dash. One day, there was a sporting event planned in my school. Well-prepared for the running competition, I took part in almost every race there was. A large number of people gathered to watch. Crowds were eager to see the running race because it was the most exciting event. When the race for 400m started, all the boys ran fast. Unsurprisingly, I finished first in the race and received a big round of applause. While it was tiring, I felt proud and was on top of my world.
In the race for 200m, I ran full speed and finished the race first once again. The crowd gave thundering claps to me. I jumped all over the ground and was not bothered to give handshakes to my fellow racers.
Then came the race for 100m. Discouraged by the previous races, most boys quit the race except one, a boy named Matt who was invited as an honorary runner. Matt was born with low vision but he was a determined participant of many sports. The judge came to Matt and explained the situation, asking whether he would like to quit too. I, wild with joy, thought I would win the champion without effort. However, to everyone's surprise, Matt decided to complete the event. I sniffed (嗤之以鼻), "It is a waste of time. I bet he even doesn't figure out where the finish line is."
The race of two started. On hearing the starting gun, both Matt and I ran to the finish line, Soon I sped up and left Matt behind. Just 30 meters before arriving at the finish line, I was expecting to receive the applause for the third time when I suffered a leg spasm (抽筋).
