little表示否定含义,反意疑问句遵循前否后肯规则;He’s是He has的缩写,助动词为has,疑问部分用has he。根据后半句答语“although he's tried his best”可知,事实是他确实没有取得进步,对于否定含义的事实,英语中用No来回答。故填has he;No。

We often hear setting clear goals is the key to success. For years, I believed this, so I always set goals. Sometimes I succeeded, but often I failed. Finally, I realized that my results had little to do with the goals I set but nearly everything to do with the systems I followed.
Are goals completely useless? Of course not. Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress. Many problems arise when you spend too much time thinking about your goals and not enough time designing your systems. So why does focusing only on goals fall short?
The first reason is that goals cannot tell winners from losers because they share the same goals. Every athlete wants an Olympic gold medal. Those who won medals made it not just by wanting to—they improved their training systems through daily practice.
Second, achieving a goal only changes your life temporarily. Imagine you have a messy room and you set a goal to clean it. After tidying up, you will have a clean room. But if you keep the same habits, the mess will return. You end up with the same result because you never changed the system behind it.
Furthermore, goals restrict happiness. We often think, “Once we reach our goal, then we’ll be happy.” However, when we fall in love with the process, we don’t have to wait to be happy. We can be happy anytime our system is running.
Finally, a goal-oriented mindset can create a “yo-yo” effect. Many runners stop training after they cross the finish line because the goal is no longer there to motivate them. So goals aren’t good for making long-term progress, but systems keep you improving beyond single achievements.
In short, goals can provide direction and even push you forward in the short term, but eventually a well-designed system will always win.
61. How did the writer realize the importance of the systems?
A. By watching videos online. B. By asking a teacher for advice.
C. By learning from personal experiences. D. By reading books about successful people.
62. What does the example of athletes mainly tell us?
A. Goals alone can’t lead to success. B. A common goal unites all athletes.
C. Talent is the key to winning medals. D. Only Olympic athletes need good systems.
63. What does the underlined word “restrict” in Paragraph 5 mean?
A. Limit. B. Create. C. Protect. D. Destroy.
64. Which of the following is an example of the “yo-yo” effect?
A. A man saves money day by day.
B. A musician practises daily without goals.
C. A student keeps studying after getting good grades.
D. A person on a diet overeats again after losing weight.
65. Which of the following ideas is the writer most likely to agree with?
A. Better late than never. B. Slow but sure wins the race.
C. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. D. The process matters more than the result.
【答案】61. C 62. A 63. A 64. D 65. D

【65题详解】
文章第五段指出“when we fall in love with the process, we don’t have to wait to be happy”,全文强调系统(过程)比目标(结果)更重要。由此推断,作者最可能同意“过程比结果更重要”。

七、任务型阅读

Mistakes are great teachers. Success comes to those who are willing to risk making mistakes to achieve their goals and wishes, and who are able to learn from those mistakes. And in order to learn from mistakes, you must be willing to pay for them.
Mistakes can be very valuable (有价值的), but when you try to get others to pay for your mistakes, then you lose the chance to learn from them. When something goes wrong, it’s usually very easy to find someone else’s mistakes, but is that useful?
Much of the value of mistakes comes from the fact that they need a cost that must be paid. The person who learns the most from a mistake is the one who pays the price for that mistake.
When you make a mistake, what you shouldn’t do is run away from it. You need to accept it. Pay the price, learn the lesson, and grow that much stronger.
When you make a mistake, don’t look back at it long. Remember the reason for it, and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The present is still in your power. Make full use of your mistakes so that you can achieve your goals and wishes.
A mistake is a great ____81____

When Ben Cheng, 63, finished a bicycle journey along the ancient Silk Road in June, she immediately began planning her next trip. Ben was a teacher who comes from Changchun, Jilin Province. She has cycled more than 100,000 kilometers over the last eight years.
“I have kept up all kinds of sports, such as swimming and mountain climbing, for many years,” she said. “After retirement (退休), I had more time for my interests and I found cycling to be a good choice.”
She began cycling in the Changchun suburbs (郊区) in 2013 after her retirement at 55. In May 2015, she started her first long journey—a trip around Bohai Bay. It took her 24 days to complete the 2,655—kilometer trip, and the success pushed her to do more.
In recent years, she has finished several long journeys across China, including a ride around Qinghai Lake in Qinghai Province and other trips in Hainan Province and Taiwan.
Together with several other cycling lovers, Ben started the ancient Silk Road journey from Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, on May 21. She crossed the cities of Lanzhou, Wuwei, Jiuquan, Dunhuang and Jiayuguan in Gansu Province and finally arrived in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (自治区), on June 18.
“During the 3,000—km journey, I enjoyed the beautiful scenery (景色),” she said. “However, I also met difficulties, such as storms and terrible road conditions.”

A mistake is a great ____81____
Who can be ____82____
Success comes to those who not only achieve their goals and wishes at the risk of ____83____ mistakes but also learn from and pay for them.
When you make mistakes
Don’t ____84____ away from them. It’s easy but ____85____ to find someone else’s mistakes.
The ___86___ of mistakes
You can learn a lot from mistakes and grow stronger by ____87____ the price for them.
The advice
When you make mistakes, remember ____88____ you make them and then look forward because you can’t change the ___89___.
The present is still in your power, so make full use of them in ___90___ to achieve your goals and wishes.
八、语法填空(本题共 10 小题,每题 1.5 分,满分 15 分)
Putting things off is something a lot of students are troubled with. Between schoolwork, after-school ____91____ (activity) and everyday worries, there are too many things you have to deal ____92____ every day. But if you keep putting them off, they can snowball. You might start falling behind and your grades might get lower.
One smart way to fight back is to break big tasks into tiny pieces. Huge projects can feel like a mountain. But if you cut them into smaller steps, it will make it ____93____ (little) scary (可怕的). For example, you’ ve got to write a five-page paper. Just tell ____94____ (you),“ Today, I’ ll choose my topic and write a little. I’ ll take care of more tomorrow.” Step by step, it gets done.
The “work and rest” way is also a smart ____95____ (choose) for being productive. Set a timer for 25 minutes—— go all in, full attention. Then take a five-minute break. Have some cookies.Walk around. Once you get going, it’s easier ____96____ (keep) it up.
Also, stay away from what ____97____ (pull) your attention. Put away your MP3 player and any kind of toys. Find a quiet place ____98____ you won’t get interrupted (打扰) at all. The less noise, ____99____ better your brain can lock in.
And don’t forget to treat yourself. For example, listen to your favourite song, or watch an interesting TV programme. These little things keep you ____100____ (go). Change doesn’t happen overnight, so stick to it every day. Finally, you are sure to see the payoff.
