(How is this year different?),下文Ella提到比去年更丰富多彩。选项A“There are more students and more activities this year.”

B“Many people say I’m lazier than Emma.”
选项D“I like reading.”
E“I love playing sports more than anything.”
I had always wanted to watch dolphins. Now, I was finally there at the Dolphin World with my family! The dolphin swam out of the aquarium (水族馆) . She circled the pool a few 6 underwater, and then the show began.
With a great wide smile on her face, she jumped out of the water again and again. Then the trainer invited her 7 , her head up onto the side of the pool. She was beautiful, and so clever. When 8 show finished, I couldn’t wait to find out more about these wonderful animals.
I did a computer search for “dolphins”. But the more I read, the 9 I felt. I read a lot 10 how lonely a dolphin must feel without her family and friends around. I learned that dolphins had big brains and could feel happiness, 11 , anger and love. And I learned that they weren’t smiling all the time, their faces just made it look like that. I realized that 12 the dolphin looked happy, she probably wasn’t deep inside.
I went onto social media, and began writing. “Yesterday I 13 to the Dolphin World.” I wrote. “And here’s why I won’t go again.”
When I woke up the next morning, there was a surprise for me. My dolphin post had nearly 12, 000 “likes”! Like 14 , everyone was saying the same thing: these beautiful animals 15 be set free, not kept in aquariums.

Have you ever thought that someone looks like their name? A new study suggests that a person’s name may influence how they look when they grow up.
In the study, researchers showed people photos of different faces and asked them to choose the most matching (相配的) names. People in the study could correctly match the names to the adult faces quite well. However, they found it much harder to match names to children’s faces. This suggests that as people grow older, their looks might slowly change to fit their name.
The researchers also used a computer program to compare faces. It found that adults with the same name look more similar to each other than adults with different names. But this was not true for children.
▲ The researchers think it might be because many people have the same ideas about names. For example, people might think someone named “Bob” should have a rounder and happier face. Without realizing it, a person named Bob might smile more often or choose a certain hairstyle, making his face look rounder and friendlier over time. This way, he slowly grows to look like his name.
The study shows that our names might play a small but interesting part in shaping who we are even in how we look.
31.What did people find difficult to do in the study?
A.To choose the right name for adults. B.To match names to children’s faces.
C.To take photos of different faces. D.To give names to children.

A.Why does this happen? B.What is the final result?

C.Do Computers Know Our Faces? D.Can Names Change Our Looks?
【答案】31.B 32.C 33.A 34.B 35.D

Chinese scientists recently took a photo of a snow leopard (雪豹) in a nature reserve (保护区) in Xinjiang. This was the first time they had seen a snow leopard there in ten years. The important discovery happened in October, 2025 during a regular animal check.
The snow leopard is a protected animal in China. In the photos, it looks healthy and strong. This tells scientists that the reserve has enough food and a good environment for these animals to live. The scientists also saw other animals like brown bears, red deer, and lynxes (猞猁) in the same area. They found that all these animals live together happily in the reserve.
This good news shows that China’s work to protect the environment makes a difference. The nature reserve now offers a safe home for these animals. To learn more about the snow leopards, the scientists will watch them for a long time. They will use cameras to take photos and learn about the animals’ daily lives. This will help them understand how to better protect these beautiful creatures.
Everyone can help protect animals by learning more about nature and living a greener life. We can use less plastic, save water, and plant more trees. Schools can teach students how to care for animals.Families can visit nature reserves to learn about wildlife.

When we all work together, we can make the world a better place for both animals and people.
