We all experience change. Change can be negative or positive. When things change in your life, whether good or bad, it can bring stress and influence your mental health.
If you often have negative thinking, big changes can make those feelings worse. However, positive change can also be upsetting, because you’re pushed out of your comfort zone, which makes it harder to deal with change.
When stress becomes overwhelming (难以承受的), it can also do harm to your physical health and cause headaches, stomachaches, backaches, trouble sleeping and even heart problems. So, it’s important to deal with it as early as possible.
Using healthy ways to deal with change will help avoid negative effects on your mental and physical health. If you’re dealing with new or unexpected situations, you can try the following tips.
Find something familiar. Even if it’s small, search for something you are familiar with to focus on. It will serve as a grounding point to guide you in hard moments. Performing daily habits, rewatching a TV show you love, or eating your favourite food can ease the stress you have during a transition (过渡).
Understand how you look at things. Seeing the world in a global sense can make things seem smaller or more manageable.
Be willing to change. Learn to accept unpredictability and keep an open mind. It will help you deal with unexpected events.
Reach out for help. If the changes make you feel unbearable, ask for help from mental health experts. They can guide you through a treatment plan.
Throughout life, there will be many changes, highs and lows. It is OK to feel uneasy. However, if those feelings become overwhelming and lead to health problems, don’t hesitate (犹豫) to turn to your family, friends, or doctor for help.
8. What does the writer say about positive change?
A. It never influences mental health.
B. It can also cause trouble for the mind.
C. It always makes people feel happy.
9. Why does the writer mention physical harm in paragraph 3?
A. To encourage people to see doctors regularly.
B. To show how change improves physical health.
C. To explain why early action on stress is necessary.
10. What can we do to ease stress during a transition according to the writer?
A. Watch a new TV show.
B. Stay away from old habits.
C. Focus on something familiar.
11. What is the main idea of the passage?

B. Change affects both mental and physical health.

IV.读写综合(共两节,满分25分)
第一节 简答(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Intangible cultural heritage (ICH,非物质文化遗产) is an important part of traditional Chinese culture. It shows how Chinese civilization has been passed down from the past to the present. Now, people from all walks of life carry on ICH in their own ways.
Zhao Hui is an inheritor (传承人) of the traditional natural dyeing craft (天然染色工艺). As a child, Zhao Hui learned natural dyeing from her grandmother and father. When she grew up, she started a workshop with her friends. At first, she didn’t have enough money to run the workshop, but she believed in what she was doing. No matter how hard things got, she chose to keep going. Zhao Hui has kept the tradition alive by designing everyday objects like dresses, scarves, and bags and teaching visitors how to dye them.
Xu Kai works as a restorer (修复师) in a museum. In 1999, Xu Kai, then a university student, visited Master Gao Guolin. The visit changed the direction of his life. He soon began to learn skills from Gao. Up to now, Xu has restored more than 10,000 porcelain (瓷器) pieces. He follows a “one object, one solution” rule and treats every porcelain piece with great care. To him, restoration means more than fixing the physical part. It also means keeping the piece’s spirit alive.
ICH is also walking into schools now. In Changsha, excellent Hunan Opera artists perform at schools. While watching the performance, the students form hearts with their hands to show their love. In many places of Shanxi, ICH has taken root in local schools. Students learn about traditional arts such as paper-cuts and Peking Opera masks. So when a performer takes the stage and children make paper-cuts with care, the past and the present shake hands. Tradition isn’t just alive—it’s having its best life yet.

A. We should use right ways to deal with change.
B. Change affects both mental and physical health.
C. Keeping an open mind helps deal with unexpected events.
