To use the service, passengers need to register (注册) 5 (they) palm prints and online payment information on the ticket machines at the subway station. “It’s very convenient. Passengers just need to place a palm above the scanning machine when getting into and out of the subway station. When you 5 (slow) take your hand away from the cardboard, you’ll be amazed by the result: the cardboard stays stuck to the glass, and not a single drop of water 6 (fall) out. This is not magic—it’s physics! The air pressure outside the glass is higher than the pressure inside, which presses the cardboard tightly (紧紧地) against the glass and holds the water in place.
The experiment is designed 7 (show) how powerful air pressure can be. Last week, our class tried it, and everyone succeeded. We also discussed 8 the water doesn’t fall and how air pressure works in our daily lives. During the process, many 9 (student) favorite part was the exciting moment when the glass is turned over.
