International students and scholars in Harvard University. C. All the full-time and part-time students in Harvard University. 19. What is the benefit of buying health insurance? A. To meet the responsibility. B. To get all medical cost covered. C. To get protected against the high medical cost. 20. Who needn’t buy Harvard health plan? A. International scholars. B. Visiting professors. C. International students. B 19. C 20. M: Good morning. Here’s some information about health insurance. Healthcare and health insurance are important during your stay at Harvard. It is crucial that you learn about the differences between the medical care system in your own country and that in the United States. Arranging paying for medical care is your responsibility. The best way to meet this responsibility is to get health insurance coverage to protect you against high cost. Access to health insurance depends on your connection with the university. Requirements for health insurance also vary. American law requires that any full-time and part-time student registered in an institution of higher learning in America must participate in a student health insurance program or in a health plan of comparable coverage. Therefore, all Harvard University students are automatically registered in the Harvard University Health Plan unless they can show that they have similar health insurance coverage on their own. International scholars are not required to purchase the Harvard Health Insurance Plan. A Leaves will soon make their gradual change to vivid colors of yellow, orange and red as we head through the fall months, but when you can usually expect peak color to arrive depends on where you live. When Will Fall Leaves Peak For You? —Late September or Early October: The Rockies, the northern parts of Minnesota through Michigan and a stretch from upstate New York to northern New England see peak color first. —Mid to Late October: Potential for peak fall color advances through the Midwest into the Appalachians and much of the Northeast in mid to late October. Most other areas in the western region, including valleys, see fall’s brightest color by this time of year as well. —November: Much of the mid-Atlantic coast and the South are the last holdouts to see peak color in November. Why Do Leaves Change Color? A shorter amount of daylight is the primary factor for the color of the leaves to begin to change. As nights grow longer and cooler, production of the green pigment (色素) slows and eventually stops. This allows the yellow and orange pigments to shine through, revealing the many beautiful colors of fall. What Makes A Good Colorful Season? Location matters: Higher altitudes and northern latitudes cool first, causing earlier color changes. Weather’s role: The perfect recipe includes warm, sunny days paired with cool nighttime temperatures. Soil moisture(湿度): Sufficient soil moisture through spring and summer can help increase the chances of the colorful leaves. Wind warning: If a strong windstorm affects an area that’s near peak color, then it can tear off leaves from trees to some extent, reducing the display of peak color. So grab your camera, plan your trip, and get ready for nature’s colorful delight! 21. When can you enjoy peak fall color in valleys of the western region? A. Late September. B. Early October. C. Late October. D. Mid November. 22. What mainly causes the change of leaf colors? A. Rainy nights. B. Limited sunshine. C. Various pigments. D. Rising temperature. 23. What may ruin the full display of peak color? A. The wet soil. B. The tree species. C. The hot summer. D. The severe storm. C 22. B 23. When Will Fall Leaves Peak For You?中的“Mid to Late October: Potential for peak fall color advances through the Midwest into the Appalachians and much of the Northeast in mid to late October. Most other areas in the western region, including valleys, see fall’s brightest color by this time of year as well. (10月中下旬:10月中下旬,从中西部到阿巴拉契亚山脉和东北部的大部分地区,秋季的色彩可能达到高峰。包括山谷在内的大多数西部地区,在每年的这个时候也会看到秋天最明亮的颜色。)”可知,10 月下旬可以欣赏到西部山谷的高峰秋色。故选C。 【22题详解】 细节理解题。根据Why Do Leaves Change Color?中的“A shorter amount of daylight is the primary factor for the color of the leaves to begin to change. (较短的日光量是树叶颜色开始变化的主要因素。)”可知,树叶颜色变化的主要原因是日照有限。故选B。 【23题详解】 细节理解题。根据What Makes A Good Colorful Season?中的Wind warning:部分“If a strong windstorm affects an area that’s near peak color, then it can tear off leaves from trees to some extent, reducing the display of peak color. (如果一场强烈的风暴影响了一个接近峰值颜色的地区,那么它可以在一定程度上撕裂树木的叶子,减少峰值颜色的显示。)”可知,严重的风暴会破坏峰值颜色的充分显示。故选D。 B Surprisingly, I’m writing this on a social media platform to explain how these apps consumed what should have been my best 15 years. I was in 7th or 8th grade when a relative introduced me to Facebook. The idea of sending a message immediately without paying for a text was mind-blowing. Games like City Ville were addictive, and unknowingly, I was swept into a digital wave. I grew up in a small town in Madhya Pradesh, a state located in India’s heartland — a place that, even now, goes largely unnoticed. As a young boy, having a desktop computer at home was a special advantage, and I was lucky to have one, thanks to my parents. Soon, everyone had Facebook. Our town, with poor roads and power cuts, suddenly had teenagers glued to screens. At 13 or 14, I wasn’t especially good-looking: something my classmates never let me forget. Seeing others share romantic stories left me feeling less confident. These comparisons were my first social media-caused insecurities. As years passed, apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, and Snapchat took over. I felt the need to post, even when unhappy, to create a false image of a perfect life. I hoped badly for attention from strangers while ignoring those who genuinely cared. Daily check-ins on Snapchat mattered more than college assignments. My attention duration became shorter; reading for 15 minutes became difficult. I’ve also seen people use social media as an excuse to avoid responsibility — something I once did too. I saw friends scroll endlessly during every free moment. I didn’t judge — I was the same. Social media was my escape. Six months ago, I decided to quit. The first 10 days were extremely hard. I had 3-4 extra hours daily and no idea what to do. Then came the math: 3 to 4 hours a day for years — more than 18,000 hours — time wasted on something that only fueled my insecurities, and time I’ll never get back. So, I leave you with this: Choose wisely. 24. What initially attracted the author to Facebook? A. The desire for popularity. B. The addictive online games. C. The recommendation by his relative. D. The costless instant communication. 25. How did the author regard his having a desktop computer? A. It’s a common possession. B. It’s a fortunate benefit. C. It’s an unnecessary tool. D. It’s a big debt load. 26. What effect did social media have on the author? A. It lowered his self-worth. B. It boosted his confidence. C. It narrowed his social circle. D. It enhanced his sense of security. 27. Which best describes the author’s present-day feeling about social media use? A. Reflective. B. Content. C. Excited. D. Confused. D 25. B 26. A 27. 根据第一段“The idea of sending a message immediately without paying for a text was mind-blowing.(能够即时发送信息而无需支付短信费用,这种想法简直令人难以置信)”可知,无需成本的即时通信让这位作者对脸书产生了兴趣。 根据第二段“As a young boy, having a desktop computer at home was a special advantage, and I was lucky to have one, thanks to my parents.(在年少时,家里拥有一台台式电脑就是一种特别的优越条件,而我有幸拥有这样一台电脑,这要归功于我的父母)”可知,作者认为拥有台式电脑是一份幸运的收获。 根据第三段“Seeing others share romantic stories left me feeling less confident. These comparisons were my first social media-caused insecurities.(看到别人分享那些浪漫的故事,让我感到自己不够出色。这些对比是我因使用社交媒体而产生的最初的一系列不安情绪)”可知,社交媒体降低了作者的自尊心。故选A。 根据最后一段“Six months ago, I decided to quit. The first 10 days were extremely hard. I had 3-4 extra hours daily and no idea what to do. Then came the math: 3 to 4 hours a day for years — more than 18,000 hours — time wasted on something that only fueled my insecurities, and time I’ll never get back. So, I leave you with this: Choose wisely.(六个月前,我决定戒掉(社交媒体)。最初的10天简直难熬极了。每天我都会多出3到4个小时,却完全不知道该做什么。然后我算了一下:每天3到4个小时,持续数年——超过18000个小时——就这样把时间浪费在只会加剧我的不安的事情上,而这些时间我永远也无法挽回了。所以,我想对你们说:要明智地做出选择)”可知,作者对于当下社交媒体使用是深思熟虑的。故选A。 C Quick: what’s your best friend’s phone number? Don’t feel bad if you couldn’t answer off the top of your head. You have no reason to commit phone numbers to memory: it’s just there in your phone. Or perhaps you once had a phone book to store them. In either case, an object does the remembering for you. “Prosthetic memory” (人工记忆) is nothing new. Writing itself has been a means of storing information. Yet the information revolution has generated more data than ever before. We are flooded with information. We’re creating more of it, and keeping more of it. The storage capacity of the human brain has since been eclipsed. No wonder, then, that we’re increasingly dependent on memory prostheses, from libraries to smartphones. Not everyone thinks this trend in external memory is good. Historically, memory prostheses were expensive. As technologies such as printing and photography become more affordable, sharing experiences with others is easier than ever. So every breakfast, every sunset, every encounter with a cat finds its way on to social media. And here comes the worry. When we devote ourselves to capturing and sharing the world in this way, something immensely valuable is lost; when recording so much of our lives, we’re forgetting to actually live them. We put something between ourselves and the world-a camera-instead of just being in the moment, and so disconnect ourselves from experience. But is our social media-driven transformation wholly bad? If we’re still creating and sharing memories like this, perhaps this is because we’ve not had sufficient time to learn how to do these things without thinking about what we’re doing. It is easy to ignore that the mass social media era is less than a decade old. That’s just a short blink (眨眼) in human history, yet it has totally changed how we live. I suspect we’re not far off from being directly faced with experience yet with the ability to share experience in ways less bounded by geography and time. After all, technology can do what our fragile meat-computers can’t: protect all the moments of a life that would otherwise be lost. 28. What can be inferred from paragraph 1? A. We rely more on tools to memorize. B. We are burdened with phone numbers. C. Technology weakens our brains. D. Technology distances us from our friends. 29. What does the underlined word “eclipsed” in paragraph 2 mean? A. Improved. B. Outperformed. C. Abandoned. D. Undervalued. 30. What negative effect does online sharing bring about? A. An overflow of posts. B. High cost of digital devices. C. Addiction to the virtual world. D. Disregard for real experience. 31. What does the author advise us to do in the last paragraph? A. Have faith in human brains. B. Take time to adapt to digital age. C. Quicken the pace of development. D. Make efforts to enhance memory. A 29. B 30. D 31. 根据第一段最后三句“You have no reason to commit phone numbers to memory: it’s just there in your phone. Or perhaps you once had a phone book to store them. In either case, an object does the remembering for you. (你没有理由去记住电话号码:它就在你的手机里。或者你曾经用电话本来存储它们。无论哪种情况,都是一个物体在替你记忆。)”可知,人们不再需要自己记住电话号码,而是依赖手机或电话本等外部工具来帮助记忆。由此可推知,人们更加依赖工具来帮助记忆。故选A项。 根据第二段第五至七句“We’re creating more of it, and keeping more of it. The storage capacity of the human brain has since been eclipsed. No wonder, then, that we’re increasingly dependent on memory, from libraries to smartphones. (我们在创造更多的信息,也在存储更多的信息。从此,人脑的存储容量就被eclipsed了。难怪,我们越来越依赖记忆假体(人工记忆辅助工具),从图书馆到智能手机都是如此。)”可知,人类创造和存储的信息量越来越大,人们开始依靠辅助工具来帮助记忆,这表明应是信息量已经超过了人脑本身的存储能力,人脑的存储能力被外部存储技术所“超越”。故选B项。 【30题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段第六句“When we devote ourselves to capturing and sharing the world in this way, something immensely valuable is lost; when recording so much of our lives, we’re forgetting to actually live them. (当我们全身心地以这种方式捕捉和分享世界时,一些极其宝贵的东西就丢失了;当我们记录下自己生活中如此多的内容时,我们却忘记了真正去生活。)”可知,过度在线分享会导致人们忽略对真实生活的体验,这是在线分享带来的负面影响。故选D项。 【31题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段第三至五句“It is easy to ignore that the mass social media era is less than a decade old. That’s just a short blink (眨眼) in human history, yet it has totally changed how we live. I suspect we’re not far off from being directly faced with experience yet with the ability to share experience in ways less bounded by geography and time. (人们很容易忽略,大众社交媒体时代还不到十年。这不过是人类历史上短暂的一瞬,但它已经完全改变了我们的生活方式。我猜想,我们离既直面体验、又能以更少受地理和时间限制的方式分享体验的时刻已经不远了。)”可知,作者认为社交媒体时代还很短,人类需要时间去适应,并且未来有可能找到真实生活体验和技术记录与分享之间的平衡。由此可推知,作者建议我们要花时间去适应数字时代。故选B项。 D Giving has many benefits, but it isn’t always easy. For example, if you suffer from depression (抑郁), you may find it hard to get up in the morning, let alone help others. But new research by Shenzhen and Peking Universities finds there may be a clever way to give. In the study, researchers arranged hundreds of young, depressed adults to either make daily micro-donations for two months or to be on a waiting list. Told that giving small donations helps improve society, participants were invited to donate at least one cent per day for the next two months to any charity. Before and every week during those two months, all participants filled out questionnaires that were about their possible depression-related aspects: depressed feelings, lack of joy, physical discomforts, sleepiness, and interpersonal problems, as well as how often they felt positive and negative feelings. After analyzing the results, the researchers found people who donated daily, even as little as one cent a day, felt significantly more positive than people on the waiting list. This, in turn, seemed to explain why they also felt less depressed each week. In other words, making donations, even small ones, helps improve mood (心情). And, though social connection wasn’t necessary for deriving benefit, the study suggests donating could help depressed people who might otherwise refuse to practice kindness toward others, according to Jinting Liu, one of the study’s coauthors. Liu suggests this could be due to the fact that if you tend to feel depressed, focusing on others for a while gives you a break from thinking about yourself and your shortcomings. It’s also possible that giving makes you feel better about yourself and that prevents the negative self-talk common to depressives. Interestingly, although people who gave more generously felt a bit happier and less depressed than those who gave less, the difference wasn’t big enough to be significant. This means even people with low means can make use of this simple activity. “Just doing something nice for others is great,” says Liu. “The amount of money isn’t the key part; it’s really about the kindness behind it.” 32. What information did the researchers collect about all participants? A. Their levels of depressive signs. B. Their willingness to donate. C. The quality of their social life. D. The frequency of their sleepiness. 33. What does the underlined word “deriving” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Using. B. Reducing. C. Doubting. D. Getting. 34. Why might giving help depressed individuals? A. It ensures comfortable talks. B. It reduces self-focus time. C. It encourages physical activity. D. It improves interpersonal relationships. 35. What can be learned according to the study? A. Giving is difficult to practice. B. Money amount determines results. C. Tiny kindnesses remain helpful. D. Generosity is the key source of joy. A 33. D 34. B 35. 根据第二段中的“Before and every week during those two months, all participants filled out questionnaires that were about their possible depression-related aspects: depressed feelings, lack of joy, physical discomforts, sleepiness, and interpersonal problems, as well as how often they felt positive and negative feelings.(在这两个月的研究开始前以及期间的每周,所有参与者都需要填写调查问卷,内容涉及他们可能存在的各类抑郁相关表现:抑郁情绪、愉悦感缺失、身体不适、嗜睡、人际关系问题,同时也包含他们产生积极和消极情绪的频率)”可知,研究人员收集的是参与者各类抑郁相关症状的表现程度。故选A项。 根据第三段中的“In other words, making donations, even small ones, helps improve mood (心情). (换言之,进行捐赠 —— 哪怕是小额捐赠,也有助于改善心情)可知,该研究的合著者刘锦婷表示,尽管获得这种益处并不需要借助社交联系,但研究表明,捐赠行为能够帮助那些原本可能不愿向他人表达善意的抑郁人群,所以,“deriving”含义为“获得”,与D项Getting一致。故选D项。 【34题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段中的“Liu suggests this could be due to the fact that if you tend to feel depressed, focusing on others for a while gives you a break from thinking about yourself and your shortcomings.(刘锦婷认为,这可能是因为如果你容易感到抑郁,暂时关注他人能让你从思考自己和自身缺点中抽离出来)”可知,捐赠能帮助抑郁人群的原因是它减少了人们关注自我的时间。故选B项。 【35题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“After analyzing the results, the researchers found people who donated daily, even as little as one cent a day, felt significantly more positive than people on the waiting list. This, in turn, seemed to explain why they also felt less depressed each week.(在分析结果后,研究人员发现,那些每天都进行捐赠,哪怕每天仅捐一美分的人,比在等待名单上的人明显感觉更积极。反过来,这似乎也解释了为什么他们每周的抑郁感也会减轻)”以及最后一段中的“Interestingly, although people who gave more generously felt a bit happier and less depressed than those who gave less, the difference wasn’t big enough to be significant. This means even people with low means can make use of this simple activity. “Just doing something nice for others is great,” says Liu. “The amount of money isn’t the key part; it’s really about the kindness behind it.”(有趣的是,尽管捐赠更为慷慨的人比捐赠较少的人感觉更快乐、抑郁感更轻,但这种差异还不够大,并不显著。这意味着即便经济条件不好的人也能参与这项简单的活动。刘(研究人员之一)表示:“为他人做点好事就很棒。钱的数额并非关键,真正重要的是其背后的善意”)”可知,这项研究表明哪怕是微小的善意举动,对改善抑郁情绪依然是有帮助的。故选C项。 第二节(共五小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多会选项。 Traveling is a great opportunity to pick up souvenirs that can remind you of your adventures. However, buying souvenirs can be risky. ___36___. How do you pick the perfect souvenir that will last and hold true sentimental value? ___37___. You would come across a piece that catches your eye during your travels. However, buying on impulse can lead to regrets. This is particularly true when you choose something because it’s convenient or because you felt pressured by the seller. One key aspect to keep in mind when shopping for a souvenir is its practical value. ___38___. Focus on practical items that could be used as mementos, like a cozy blanket or a handwoven rug. These items can be used regularly, reminding you of the trip long after you’ve returned home. Another great tip is to look for items that represent the place you’re visiting. For example, a unique local artifact or a handmade item that tells the story of the place can be a better choice than mass-produced souvenirs. An item used every day can carry the essence of a place. ___39___. A rug, for instance, would be perfect for a trip to Morocco, whereas a painting might suit a visit to Peru. When trying to pick the perfect souvenir, it’s important to balance practicality with personal meaning. You don’t have to follow trends. Instead, choose something that represents your own experience. ___40___. For instance, if you visit a local market, ask about the history of the item or whether it has a specific meaning. This connection adds to the significance of the souvenir. So, the next time you’re traveling, take your time and choose a souvenir that will remind you of the moments that truly mattered. A. The memory of a souvenir is its best value. B. For some, a souvenir should serve a functional purpose. C. The process of selecting a souvenir is often impulsive. D. It’s the memories and the experience that make it worthwhile. E. You should consider whether it fits the context of your destination. F. Some travelers avoid buying souvenir to prevent any disappointment. G. While some items bring joy, others may end up being regrettable purchases. 【答案】36. G 37. C 38. B 39. E 40. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章建议挑选旅行纪念品时,应避免冲动消费,优先选择兼具实用性、地域特色和个人情感意义的物品,以确保其长期价值。 【36题详解】 前文“Traveling is a great opportunity to pick up souvenirs that can remind you of your adventures. However, buying souvenirs can be risky. (旅行是挑选纪念品的好机会,可以让你想起你的冒险经历。然而,购买纪念品可能会有风险。)”指出旅行时购买纪念品可能有风险,后文“How do you pick the perfect souvenir that will last and hold true sentimental value? (你如何挑选一件既能长久保存又真正承载情感价值的完美纪念品?)”提问如何挑选完美的纪念品,此处应填入一个过渡句,解释风险具体是什么,因此G项“While some items bring joy, others may end up being regrettable purchases. (有些纪念品带来快乐,有些却可能成为令人后悔的购物体验。)”符合语境,指出购买结果的两面性,呼应前文的风险,为后文的如何避免后悔做铺垫。故选G。 【37题详解】 后文“You would come across a piece that catches your eye during your travels. However, buying on impulse can lead to regrets. (你会在旅行中遇到一件吸引你眼球的作品。然而,冲动购物可能会导致后悔。)”描述旅行中冲动购买的行为,指出有可能会后悔,此处应填入一个引入冲动购买现象的句子,因此C项“The process of selecting a souvenir is often impulsive. (挑选纪念品的过程往往带有冲动成分。)”符合语境,引出冲动购买这一核心问题。故选C。 【38题详解】 前文“One key aspect to keep in mind when shopping for a souvenir is its practical value. (把重点放在可以用作纪念品的实用物品上,比如舒适的毯子或手工编织的地毯。)”举例毯子、地毯等日常用品,此处应填入一个支持实用性优先的句子,因此B项“For some, a souvenir should serve a functional purpose. (对一些人来说,纪念品应具有实用功能。)”符合语境,与后文的实用物品对应。故选B。 【39题详解】 后文“A rug, for instance, would be perfect for a trip to Morocco, whereas a painting might suit a visit to Peru. (例如,地毯是去摩洛哥旅行的完美选择,而一幅画可能适合去秘鲁旅行时购买。)”举例摩洛哥的地毯、秘鲁的绘画,此处应填入一个强调物品与目的地关联性的句子,因此E项“You should consider whether it fits the context of your destination. (你应该考虑它是否与目的地相符。)”符合语境,与后文的地域案例匹配。故选E。 【40题详解】 前文“You don’t have to follow trends. Instead, choose something that represents your own experience. (你不需要跟随潮流。相反,选择一些代表你自己经历的东西。)”建议选择体现个人经历的物品,后文“For instance, if you visit a local market, ask about the history of the item or whether it has a specific meaning. This connection adds to the significance of the souvenir. (例如,如果你去当地的一个市场,问问这件东西的历史,或者它是否有特定的含义。这种联系增加了纪念品的意义。)”举例询问物品的历史或意义,此处应填入一个强调纪念品与个人体验关联的句子,因此D项“It’s the memories and the experience that make it worthwhile. (正是记忆和体验让它变得有意义。)”符合语境,解释选择这类物品的原因,承前启后。故选D。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 What is the most important thing in life? A precious Northern Song period (960–1127) edition of the Houhanshu (Book of Later Han), ____62____ is about the history of the Eastern Han Dynasty (24—220), is included as well. What 【解析】 【导语】这是一篇说明文。主要介绍了中国国家图书馆牵头,全国主要图书馆免费发布古籍数字版,满足学术需求。 【56题详解】 考查固定短语。句意:现在,中国已经承诺充分利用这些资源,而不是把它们留在档案馆里。“make full use of”是固定短语,意为“充分利用”。故填of。 根据“in 1171”可知,句子时态为一般过去时,“A print edition of the Shiji (Records of the Grand Historian)”与“publish”之间是被动关系,即“《史记》的印刷版被出版”,所以用一般过去时的被动语态,其结构为“was/were + 过去分词”,主语是单数。故填was published。 【62题详解】 考查定语从句。句意:珍贵的北宋(960-1127)版后汉书(后汉书),这是关于东汉(24-220)的历史,也包括在内。分析句子可知,设空处引导非限制性定语从句,先行词“A precious Northern Song period (960–1127) edition of the Houhanshu (Book of Later Han)”,指物,在从句中作主语成分,所以为关系代词which引导。故填which。 【63题详解】 考查动词不定式。句意:由于年代久远,没有太多的北宋书籍有幸幸存下来,在国家图书馆的藏书中,只有三本书,包括《后汉书》,可以肯定是这个时期的。“be + 形容词 + enough + to do sth.”是固定结构,意为“足够…… 去做某事”,所以此处应填动词不定式“to survive”作原因状语。故填to survive。 【64题详解】 考查副词。句意:由于年代久远,没有太多的北宋书籍有幸幸存下来,在国家图书馆的藏书中,只有三本书,包括《后汉书》,可以肯定是这个时期的。由副词修饰动词可知,此处应用副词修饰动词“credited”,“definite”的副词形式是“definitely”,意为“肯定地;确切地”。故填definitely。 【65题详解】 考查主语从句。句意:学者们最需要的是古籍的数字化版本。分析句子结构,“____10____ are in great demand for academics”是主语从句,从句中缺少主语,指物,所以用连接代词 “What”引导主语从句。故填What。 第四部分 写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) 66. 假定你是李华,你的英国朋友Chris最近沉迷手机,每天使用超过6小时,导致注意力下降、睡眠不足。他来信向你求助。请你给他写一封建议信,内容包括: 1. 表示理解; 2. 说明沉迷手机的危害; 3. 提出具体建议。 注意: 写作词数应为80左右; ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】Dear Chris, I’m sorry to hear about your problem. It is completely normal to feel trapped by screens, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. Not only does mindless scrolling severely fragment your attention span, but the blue light also ruins your sleep quality and drains your daily energy. To regain control, you can start with small, realistic steps. First, establish a strict “phone-free hour” before bedtime and keep the device out of your bedroom. Second, replace digital habits with fulfilling offline activities, such as reading or jogging, to keep your mind engaged and refreshed. I am confident that you will soon break free and find your rhythm! Yours, Li Hua 【解析】 【导语】题目要求考生以李华的身份写信,安慰Chris并劝说他摆脱手机沉迷、给出改善建议。 【详解】1.词汇积累 完全地:completely → entirely 注意力:attention → concentration 破坏:ruin → spoil 实际的:realistic → practical 2.句式拓展 简单句变复合句 原句:To regain control, you can start with small, realistic steps. 拓展句:To regain control, you can start with small, realistic steps, which can help you stay away from overusing your phone. 【点睛】【高分句型1】It is completely normal to feel trapped by screens, so please don’t be too hard on yourself. (运用了It作形式主语,不定式作真正的主语) 【高分句型2】I am confident that you will soon break free and find your rhythm! (运用了that引导的宾语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 67. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段。使之构成一个完整的短文。 John reached into his backpack, searching for his cell phone. He was scared of having to spend the spring break at Aunt Letty’s farm. Although he had protested, his parents decided that spending time on the farm would be a great experience for him. They grew up on a farm and believed that responsibility, hard work, and respect for the land were valuable lessons. “So, have you ever ridden a horse?” Aunt Letty asked, trying to turn his attention away from his phone. “Hmmm, no.” he answered. “Well, we’ve got a nice calm horse I think you’ll like. Hercules — sounds like a beast, but he’s basically a gentle giant — big, but kindhearted!” she said, smiling. John glanced at his aunt, annoyed that he was expected to work. He tried to text a friend but there was no cell reception. The next few days were busy. The crow of the roosters woke them up, and they had breakfast before dawn. Then they went out to the barn to get the feed while the animals waited to be fed. The afternoons were filled with transporting hay, cleanup, and caring for the animals. At dusk, when the farm was finally quiet, Aunt Letty stretched her arms out and inhaled (吸气), “Just take a deep breath of that sweet country air!” John, exhausted from his chores, was unable to appreciate his work. On the third day, without warning, Aunt Letty announced, “It’s time to meet Hercules.” She led John into the stables (马厩). Aunt Letty was right. Hercules was remarkable! Aunt Letty held her hand open for John to take. Reluctantly, he let her guide his hand toward Hercules and allowed the magnificent creature to sniff his palm. Softly, Hercules rubbed its nose and mouth against him. “It feels like velvet (天鹅绒) !” John beamed(眉开眼笑). An hour later, John was scratching Hercules on his neck and offering him carrots. That night, as they headed toward the house, John was inspired. His arms spreading wide, he inhaled and said, “Take a breath of that sweet country air!” 注意: 1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右; 2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好。 The next morning, John found Aunt Letty waiting outside with Hercules. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fascinated by the breathtaking scenery in the countryside, John obviously changed a lot after the ride. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】The next morning, John found Aunt Letty waiting outside with Hercules. Running towards them with excitement, John asked Aunt Letty if he could take a ride with her and she nodded approval. So John sat in front of Aunt Letty and they headed slowly towards the riverbank nearby. On arrival, John was totally absorbed in the idyllic scenery: The river water slipped twinkling in the sunlight. The banks were lined with willows, gently swaying in the wind. A refreshing breeze was blowing gently. John closed his eyes, breathing in the earthy smell of soil and appreciating the birdsong. A sense of inner peace he had never experienced in the city swept over him then. Fascinated by the breathtaking scenery in the countryside, John obviously changed a lot after the ride. He no longer frowned at work but fulfilled his assigned tasks on the farm devotedly instead. When the farm was finally quiet, he would ride Hercules with Aunt Letty / gallop with Aunt Letty, trotting around the beautiful farmland and inhaling the sweet country air. Soon, it was time for John to say goodbye. He stroked Hercules on the neck softly, hugged Aunt Letty and said, “My parents are right. The life here is a great experience for me. Could I spend my next spring break here?” Aunt Letty smiled and said yes. 词汇激活 行为类 同意:approval/agreement 完成:fulfill/complete 欣赏:appreciate/enjoy 情绪类 1.极好的:wonderful/great 2.漂亮的:beautiful/pretty 【点睛】[高分句型1]. B Surprisingly, I’m writing this on a social media platform to explain how these apps consumed what should have been my best 15 years. A. Reflective. B. Content. C. Excited. D. Confused. C Quick: what’s your best friend’s phone number? D Giving has many benefits, but it isn’t always easy. 第二节(共五小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多会选项。 Traveling is a great opportunity to pick up souvenirs that can remind you of your adventures. 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 What is the most important thing in life? ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。Excuse me, where can I check in for flight CA one two, three to beijing?
