Passage 1
(25-26九年级上·湖南衡阳·期中)根据短文内容,从短文后面的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项是多余项。
We all need English in our lives: to search on the Internet, to get a good job or to travel around the world. How do you learn English? 1 Here are some tips for you.
★ 2 When you meet new words, make funny example sentences with the words or draw little pictures next to them. It’s a good way to help you remember them.
★Put yourself in an English-speaking environment. However, that environment doesn’t have to be an English-speaking country. English is everywhere. It’s in online videos, news channels and on the radio. Keep your ears open and listen to real English.
★Be a parrot (鹦鹉). In a conversation, listen closely to how others pronounce certain words and do your best to copy them. You can do it by watching films at home. 3 If you already know the story of a movie, you’ll find its language much easier to understand.
★Speak a little English every day. The best and fastest way to learn any language is just to speak it. It doesn’t matter if you only know five English words. Don’t wait until you feel more comfortable to speak in English. 4 You’ll be surprised at how quickly it improves.
At last, one thing you should remember: you must practise every day. You know, practice makes perfect.
A.So, start speaking English today.
B.Find fun ways to learn new words.
C.Do you want to learn it in a better and faster way?
D.It’s better to choose the films that you’ve watched.
E.By studying yourself, you check your strengths (强项) and weaknesses.
【答案】1.C 2.B 3.D 4.A
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍了英语在生活中的重要性,并给出了几条实用的英语学习建议,包括趣味记单词、营造语言环境、模仿发音和坚持开口练习等方法。
【详解】1.空前问“How do you learn English?”(你如何学英语?),空后说“Here are some tips for you”(这里有一些建议给你)。C项“Do you want to learn it in a better and faster way?”(你想学得更好更快吗?)承上启下,自然引出下文的学习建议。
2.本段后文提到“When you meet new words, make funny example sentences...or draw little pictures”(遇到新单词时,造有趣的句子或画小图),这些都是学习单词的有趣方法。B项“Find fun ways to learn new words”(寻找有趣的方法学习新单词)概括了本段中心思想。
3.空前提到“watching films at home”(在家看电影),空后提到“If you already know the story of a movie”(如果你已经知道电影的故事)。D项“It’s better to choose the films that you’ve watched”(最好选择你看过的电影)与后文的“已知故事”逻辑一致。
4.本段建议每天说英语,空前说“Don’t wait...”(不要等待……),空后说“You’ll be surprised at how quickly it improves”(你会惊讶于进步之快)。A项“So, start speaking English today”(所以,今天就开始说英语吧)是对前文“不要等待”的顺势总结和行动号召。
Passage 2
(25-26九年级上·湖南邵阳·期中)阅读下面的短文,选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
Many people think that English writing is difficult. Here are some great writing tips. They will help you improve your writing in a short time.
Don’t ramble (长篇大论). This is a very common mistake made by people who have poor writing skills. When they ramble, they are not paying attention to grammar. As a result, their sentences become very long. 1 If you know you have poor grammar, use short sentences. 2 Think about each sentence carefully to make sure that it is right before moving on.
3 If you don’t have a large vocabulary, you will find it difficult to write as you can’t find right words to express (表达) yourself clearly. The solution (解决办法) to this problem is to increase your vocabulary. You can do this by reading newspapers, borrowing books from the library or watching English programs.
Don’t write when you are tired. 4 If you find yourself looking at the paper with nothing to write, don’t just sit there! Take a walk or a warm shower, or simply lie down to get some rest.
A.Tiredness can lead to nothing to write.
B.Make sure your sentences are right.
C.Increase your vocabulary.
D.The longer the sentences are, the more mistakes they’ll make.
E.As a result, they may give up after trying hard for a while.
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.C 4.A
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍了提高英语写作能力的几条实用建议,包括避免长篇大论、确保句子正确、增加词汇量以及避免疲劳写作。
【详解】1.根据文章第2段“As a result, their sentences become very long.”以及后文“If you know you have poor grammar, use short sentences.”可知,此处应说明句子过长带来的负面影响,从而引出使用短句的建议。D项“The longer the sentences are, the more mistakes they’ll make.”(句子越长,他们犯的错误就越多)符合语境逻辑。
2.根据文章第2段后文“Think about each sentence carefully to make sure that it is right before moving on.”可知,本空应是一个概括性的祈使句,强调确保句子正确的重要性。B项“Make sure your sentences are right.”(确保你的句子是正确的)与后文内容一致。
3.根据文章第3段后文“If you don’t have a large vocabulary, you will find it difficult to write...”以及“The solution to this problem is to increase your vocabulary.”可知,本段主旨是关于词汇量的,空缺处应为段落的主题句。C项“Increase your vocabulary.”(增加你的词汇量)概括了本段大意。
4.根据文章第4段首句“Don’t write when you are tired.”以及后文“If you find yourself looking at the paper with nothing to write...”可知,此处应解释疲劳写作导致的后果,即写不出东西。A项“Tiredness can lead to nothing to write.”(疲劳会导致写不出东西)承上启下,符合语境。
Passage 3
(24-25九年级上·山东临沂·期中)阅读下面短文,根据短文内容,从下列选项中选出能填入文中空白处的最佳选项。选项中有一项为多余选项。
In fact, a lot of languages can still be learned best in more relaxing situations where students are having fun. Here are some suggestions.
★ 1
If you live in an area filled with English speakers, get students out of the classroom. Put them among other English speakers: Students may not speak to strangers, but they’ll hear conversations and may begin to understand how the words learned in the classroom are actually used in everyday life.
★Let their guard (警惕) down.
One difficult thing for learners is that they don’t have confidence. Fun activities, especially those outside of the classroom, give students a chance to feel relaxed. 2 It may take a bit of time in the beginning, but once students get into it, they’ll start to get confidence.
★Make use of English media.
Most recorded language instruction (指导) is pretty boring. 3 They will hear common expressions and more everyday conversations in the movie. If they’re not sure about anything they hear, you can turn it into a new lesson in the classroom.
★Hear or use English in situations.
Casual conversations give learners the chance to hear or use English in situations. In different situations, they can talk about their favorite films, super stars and any successful or famous person freely. They will show interest in learning English if they use English to talk about anything they like. 4 Everyone can master new knowledge or skills better if he has fun learning.
A.Communicate with strangers.
B.You can let your students see a movie in English.
C.Many learners are not interested in English at first.
D.These activities help students speak more freely.
E.Interest is the best teacher in life.
【答案】1.A 2.D 3.B 4.E
【导语】本文主要给出了一些学习英语的建议。

How to rule your time
Time is a valuable thing. Sometimes we don’t think much about it, but often we feel like we don’t have enough time. Sometimes we hurry through our days, always trying to do more things in less time. 1 But in fact, there are real things we can do to feel better about time.
Know how you use your time.
Keep track of (记录) your time for one or two weeks to see where it goes. Many people find this a surprising thing to do. Once we know where our time goes, we can start to change things.
2
We all have the time we need—we just need to decide what’s the most important. We choose to spend our time on things that matter to us, but many of us do this without thinking. Sit down and write a list of the most important things you want to spend time on in your life. This will help you make choices later.
Make changes and set limits (限制).
Once we know how we spend our time and what we want to spend time on, we can start to make changes and set limits. This means stopping doing things that aren’t very important and making time for things that are. 3
Learn to enjoy the present moment and be thankful.
One of the best ways to have a healthy relationship with time is to learn to enjoy the present moment. 4 For example, enjoy a pretty sunset or have a good talk with friends. It also means taking time for yourself to do things you like, such as reading, listening to music, or being outside. Every hour we’re alive is a present.
