More and more Chinese students who study abroad have chosen to wear traditional Chinese clothing to their graduation ceremonies(毕业典礼).

When Oliver arrived in this hard world, it was very doubtful whether he would live beyond the first three minutes. He lay on a hard little bed and struggled to start breathing.
Oliver fought his first battle without much help from the two people present at his birth. One was an old woman, who was nearly always drunk, and the other was a busy local doctor, who was not paid enough to be very interested in Oliver’s survival.
However, Oliver managed to draw his first breath and then announced his arrival by crying loudly. His mother raised her pale young face and whispered, “Let me see it.”
The doctor turned away from the fire where he had been warming his hands. He gave her the child. Lovingly, she kissed the baby with her cold white lips, then stared wildly around the room, fell back and died.
The doctor began to put on his coat. “The mother was a good-looking girl. Where did she come from?”
“She was brought here last night,” replied the old woman. “She was found lying in the street. Where she came from, or what her name was, nobody knows.”
The doctor lifted the girl’s left hand. “The old story,” he shook his head. “No wedding ring, I see. Ah! Good night.”
And so Oliver was left with only the drunken nurse. He was then sent to a special “baby farm” nearby. There, he and thirty other children rolled around the floor all day, without the inconvenience (不便) of too much food or too much clothing. Mrs. Mann, who “looked after” them, was very experienced. She knew what was “good” for children. She also knew what was good for herself. The board (董事会) responsible (负责) for the orphans (孤儿) sometimes checked on the health of the children, but they always sent Mr. Bumble, a kind local policeman, to announce their visit the day before. So whenever the board arrived, of course, the children were always neat and clean.
On Oliver’s ninth birthday, Mr. Bumble came. Through the front window, Mrs. Mann saw him at the gate and turned quickly to the girl who worked with her.
“Quick! Take Oliver and those others upstairs to be washed!” she said. Then she ran out to unlock the gate, which was always kept locked.
—Oliver Twist

Raden works in a library in Germany. She has a project—lending books to children in exchange for waste they collect.
Raden likes her job. Raden rides her three-wheeler (三轮车) with books at the back to the village from Mondays to Fridays. There, many children are waiting to exchange books with old cups, bags and other useless things. When she arrives, the children gather around her three-wheeler, the “Litter Library”, and the books fly out quickly. Raden collects about 100 kg of waste each week. She has more than 6,000 books to lend and plans to go to more places, too.
Raden’s project is a new way to increase (增加) kids’ reading. She is happy that it will take the kids more time to read books than to play online games as a result. She thinks that it can help build a culture of reading from young age.
The project is also a way to clean up the environment. It can help to take care of the waste to fight climate (气候) change and to protect the earth. Kevin is a reader of the “Litter Library”. He’s 11 years old. He often looks for waste lying in the village. “When there is too much waste, our environment will become dirty and it’s not healthy.
