We started from a small village and climbed up to the top of White Mountain. More and more tourists would come in summer, so I wanted to enjoy the quiet natural beauty early. We set off at six in the morning. The road was rough, and we had to hold onto rocks to keep safe. Some of us felt tired easily, so we stopped to rest several times. Our bags were not heavy, but we still felt weak when we reached the middle station. We saw many strange birds and colorful flowers along the way. I took photos and wrote down what I saw in my notebook. I also worried about my teammates, especially when the weather became windy and cold. On the last leg of the trip, we found that our drinking water was running out. We thought we had prepared enough for the trip. Later, we realized that some of us drank more than needed. Some tourists passed by but they had no extra water. Then we met a local guide working as a park volunteer, and he gave us some clean water. In the end, we got to the top safely and went back home happily. A Some libraries use unique architecture to encourage visitors to explore the racks and settle down with a new book, or use roving libraries to bring books to hard-to-reach populations. No matter how they achieve it, these novel libraries are keeping the magic of reading alive. 1. Kansas City Library (Kansas City, Missouri) Along the south wall of this parking garage’s exterior, visitors are treated to what looks like a huge shelf of books. The building originally served as a bank, which is readily apparent when the library has screenings in its Vault Theater, inside an actual 1925 bank vault. 2. Beach Library (Albena, Bulgaria) Reading a book on the beach is a classic, and in Bulgaria, one library encourages tourists to do just that. The white, weather-resistant shelves lined up not far from the surf feature 6,000 books in 15 languages so every visitor can find the perfect beach read to enjoy while soaking up the sun’s rays. 3. The Camel Library Service (North Eastern Province, Kenya) To combat low literacy(读写能力低) rates in the desert of Kenya, the government created a roaming library composed of nine camels bringing books to villages. The library travels four days a week serving the region’s nomadic people. Currently the service focuses on children, but with more funding they plan to increase their reach both in distance and the titles they carry. 4. Bishan Library (Singapore) Built in 2006, this library with skylights and trellises, is meant to invoke a modern glass treehouse. Glass pods of varying colors stick out of the building randomly to create cozy yet airy nooks(角落) for reading throughout the building. At the same time, a more open-plan children’s room on the basement level invites interaction while preventing noise from filtering upward and disturbing those concentrating in the lofty(高耸的) perches above. 5. Macquarie University Library (Sydney, Australia) An impressive combination of cuttingedge and sustainable, this building was made from recycled materials, features a green roof, and was designed to imitate the look of a eucalyptus tree. It is also state of the art, using robot cranes to bring requested books to the front desk. 21. Which library will not be easily affected by weather? A. Kansas City Library. B. Beach Library. C. The Camel Library Service. D. Bishan Library. 22. Which of the following can NOT be experienced in Bishan Library in Singapore? A. Having a discussion in the children’s room. B. Reading in a comfortable area with fresh air. C. Being disturbed by noise from the basement. D. Immersing yourself in reading in higher places. 23. What do the 5 libraries have in common? A. They are targeted at children. B. They are available to remote areas. C. They are equipped with advanced technology. D. They allow readers a lively reading experience. B 22. C 23. 根据Beach Library这一部分中“The white, weather-resistant shelves lined up not far from the surf feature 6,000 books in 15 languages so every visitor can find the perfect beach read to enjoy while soaking up the sun’s rays(白色的、耐风雨的书架排列在离冲浪区不远的地方,有15种语言的6000本书籍,这样每位游客都能在享受阳光的同时找到完美的海滩读物)”可知,耐风雨的书架可以让游客在享受阳光的同时找到完美的海滩读物。 根据Bishan Library 这一部分中“At the same time, a more open-plan children’s room on the basement level invites interaction while preventing noise from filtering upward and disturbing those concentrating in the lofty(高耸的) perches above(与此同时,地下室一层更开放的儿童房邀请互动,同时防止噪音向上过滤,干扰那些集中在高处栖息的人)”可知,在此图书馆不会受到噪音的影响,所以C项是不能体验的。 根据文章第一段“Some libraries use unique architecture to encourage visitors to explore the racks and settle down with a new book, or use roving libraries to bring books to hard-to-reach populations. No matter how they achieve it, these novel libraries are keeping the magic of reading alive(一些图书馆使用独特的建筑来鼓励游客探索书架,并为一本新书安顿下来,或者使用流动图书馆将书籍带给难以接触到的人群。无论他们是如何做到这一点的,这些小说图书馆都保持着阅读的魔力)”可知,这五个图书馆都可以让读者想要去阅读。由此推知,这五个图书馆都可以给读者一个生动的阅读体验。故选D。 B When Angel Reese first joined the Chicago Sky as the No.7 pick in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) draft, the transition was far from smooth. The player known in college for her dominant rebounding (篮板球) and competitive spirit faced a steep learning curve against experienced professionals. Questions were raised about whether her game would translate, and her statistics in the early weeks were solid but not impressive, leading some experts to wonder if she was being overshadowed by other rookies (新手). But Reese, with her constant efforts, quickly turned a corner. In a decisive mid-season game against the Connecticut Sun, she recorded an incredible 25 points and 16 rebounds, announcing her arrival as a force. Her impact goes beyond numbers; she has transformed the Sky’s defensive identity and become an emotional leader. “Confronted with pressure from the media in the down time, she brings an energy that’s infectious,” said Head Coach Teresa Weatherspoon. “She’s not just playing her best; she’s motivating everyone around her.” Perhaps Reese’s most significant contribution is happening off the court. Jerseys (运动衫) with her name are flying off shelves, and Sky games, particularly on the road, are drawing new crowds eager to see the “Chi-Town Barbie.” The league’s television ratings and social media engagement see substantial rises during her eye-catching performances. She, along with an exceptional rookie class, is credited with driving a new era of exposure and commercial growth for the WNBA. The narrative has shifted from questioning her fit to forecasting her ceiling. A strong candidate for Rookie of the Year, Reese is no longer just a prospect; she is a cornerstone. Her journey from a screened newcomer to a league ambassador underscores how the right personality and talent, coupled with resilience, can rapidly reshape both a team’s fortunes and the sport’s cultural footprint. 24. How did the public react to Angel Reese initially? A. They didn’t pay enough attention to her role. B. They were deeply impressed by her skills. C. They thought she would win awards quickly. D. They doubted her ability as a WNBA player. 25. What can be inferred about Reese from Teresa’ s comment? A. She improves the team’s fame. B. She lifts her teammates’ spirits. C. She plays the best on the team. D. She handles media pressure easily. 26. Why was Reese called “Chi-Town Barbie”? A. To promote a commercial brand. B. To increase her media engagement. C. To reflect her popularity and identity. D. To display her catchy performances. 27. What is the main idea of the passage? A. An introduction to the Chicago Sky. B. The importance of a positive mindset. C. A player’s journey and her impact. D. The characteristics of sports culture. 24. D 25. B 26. C 27. But last year in China, the electronics maker Xiaomi launched its first electric car after just three years of development and delivered 135,000 vehicles. It has vowed to double that number in 2025. Xiaomi’s ability to succeed where Apple could not shows how thoroughly China has come to dominate the supply chain for electric vehicles. Chinese companies have mastered electric vehicle manufacturing. By tapping that infrastructure, Xiaomi was able to get components quickly and cheaply. And Xiaomi is not the only Chinese consumer electronics company that has branched out to electric vehicles. The telecommunications giant Huawei, which the U. S. government has targeted with sanctions and legal action for years, is making autonomous driving software. Huawei has teamed up with multiple Chinese automakers, including Seres Group and the state-owned firms SAIC Motor, BAIC and Chery. Xiaomi’s first electric car was brought out last March: the SU7,a four-door sedan with artificial intelligence features that can help with parking, play movies for passengers and program Xiaomi home appliances from the road. Mr. Lei said it looks like a Porsche. But at $ 30,000, it’s a quarter of the price. While the SU7 earned Xiaomi just a small fraction of the sales of China’s top electric vehicle makers, it puts Xiaomi among the Chinese companies that are dealing a major blow to foreign automakers’ long command over China’s market for premium cars. In the year since the SU7 went on sale, Porsche deliveries in China were down nearly 30 percent. Chinese electric vehicle companies have benefited from billions of dollars in government support, which has helped them gain control of the supply chain down to the very minerals inside the car batteries. This early edge helped two Chinese companies, BYD and Contemporary Amperex Technology Company. Xiaomi used this supply chain to its advantage. Its cars contain batteries from BYD and CATL. It was able to quickly start production by taking over a factory from Beijing Auto Group. Construction workers in Beijing are working around the clock on a second factory. All this manufacturing capacity helps Chinese electric vehicle firms move from development to production in far less time than traditional automakers in China, enabling them to bring new models to market quickly and focus on making software that they can continually update, said Stephen W. Dyer, head of Asia Automotive at AlixPartners. 28. How does the author introduce the topic? A. By listing examples. B. By stating opinions. C. By making a contrast. D. By giving definitions. 29. Why does the author mention Apple’s failure? A. To show Apple’s poor management. B. To prove electric car production is difficult. C. To highlight China’s EV development. D. To compare it with Huawei’s situation. 30. What does Paragraph 3 focus on? A. SU7’s price advantage. B. SU7’s features and influence. C. Porsche’s decline in China. D. Xiaomi’s EV production plan. 31. How did Xiaomi start its electric car production quickly? A. By developing new technology. B. By building its own factory. C. By getting government support. D. By getting hold of a factory. C 29. C 30. B 31. 根据第一段“After nearly a decade of trying, Apple finally gave up its effort to produce an electric car last year, canceling a project that soaked up $10 billion. But last year in China, the electronics maker Xiaomi launched its first electric car after just three years of development and delivered 135,000 vehicles. (经过近十年的努力,苹果终于在去年放弃了生产电动汽车的努力,取消了一个耗资100亿美元的项目。但去年在中国,电子产品制造商小米推出了其首款电动汽车,经过短短三年的研发,交付了13.5万辆。)”可知,首段将苹果“十年造车失败”与小米“三年成功推出电动汽车”进行对比,通过对比引出“中国电动汽车供应链主导地位”的主题。故选C。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段“Xiaomi’s ability to succeed where Apple could not shows how thoroughly China has come to dominate the supply chain for electric vehicles.(小米能够在苹果无法做到的地方取得成功,表明中国已经彻底主导了电动汽车供应链。)” 根据第三段“Xiaomi’s first electric car was brought out last March: the SU7,a four-door sedan with artificial intelligence features that can help with parking, play movies for passengers and program Xiaomi home appliances from the road. Mr. Lei said it looks like a Porsche. But at $ 30,000, it’s a quarter of the price. While the SU7 earned Xiaomi just a small fraction of the sales of China’s top electric vehicle makers, it puts Xiaomi among the Chinese companies that are dealing a major blow to foreign automakers’ long command over China’s market for premium cars.(小米的第一辆电动汽车于去年3月推出:SU7,这是一款四门轿车,具有人工智能功能,可以帮助停车,为乘客播放电影,并在路上为小米的家用电器编程。 根据第五段“It was able to quickly start production by taking over a factory from Beijing Auto Group.(通过收购北汽集团的一家工厂,该公司得以迅速投产。)” D。 D An artificial intelligence can now predict the location and rate of crime across a city a week in advance with up to 90 percent accuracy. Similar systems have been shown to perpetuate (延长) racist bias (偏见) in policing, and the same could be true in this case, but the researchers who created thisAI claim that it can also be used to expose those biases. Ishanu Chattopadhyay at the University of Chicago and his colleagues created an AI model that analysed historical crime data from Chicago, Illinois, from 2014 to the end of 2016, then predicted crime levels for the weeks that followed this training period. The model predicted the likelihood of certain crimes occurring across the city, which was divided into squares about 300 metres across, a week in advance with up to 90 percent accuracy. It was also trained and tested on data for seven other major US cities, with a similar level of performance. Previous efforts to use AIs to predict crime have been controversial because they can perpetuate racial bias. In recent years, Chicago Police Department has tested an algorithm (算法) that created a list of people assumed most at risk of being involved in a shooting, either as a victim or as a criminal. Details of the algorithm and the list were initially kept secret, but when the list was finally released, it turned out that 56 percent of Black men in the city aged between 20 to 29 featured on it. Chattopadhyay acknowledges that the data used by his model will also be biased, but says that efforts have been taken to reduce the effect of bias and the AI doesn’t identify suspects, only potential sites of crime. “It’s not Minority Report,” he says. Chattopadhyay says the AI’s predictions could be more safely used to inform policy at a high level, rather than being used directly to allocate (分配) police resources. He has released the data and algorithm used in the study publicly so that other researchers can investigate the results. The researchers also used the data to look for areas where human bias is affecting policing. They analysed the number of arrests following crimes in neighbourhoods in Chicago with different socioeconomic levels. This showed that crimes in wealthier areas resulted in more arrests than they did in poorer areas, suggesting bias in the police response. 32. What can a new AI show according to researchers? A. The exposure of some biases. B. The reasons for racist bias. C. The similarity with other systems. D. The truth of the previous cases. 33. How was the research carried out? A. By dividing criminals into groups. B. By following the training period. C. By training the model in big cities. D. By looking into the past information. 34. What is Chattopadhyay’s attitude towards the research? A. Negative. B. Positive. C. Neutral. D. Indifferent. 35. What would happen after the new AI model was put into use? A. Crimes in wealthier areas would drop. B. Crimes in poorer areas would remain the same. C. Disadvantages caused by bias would decrease. D. Crime data would be further investigated. 32. A 33. D 34. Additionally, Blind does not mean that they cannot do anything, nor does it mean that they have lower-than-average common sense. It is only a physical challenge. Bear in mind that blind people treat guide dogs as extensions of their bodies. Never distract(使分心)guide dogs from their job without permission. ____37____. Once distracted, they may fail to prevent a blind person from danger. ____38____. When having a conversation in a group, remember to identify the person you are speaking to, i.e. using his or her name—otherwise, the blind person will be confused as to whether or not you are speaking to them. When leaving, always inform the blind person so that they will not be left talking to the air. If you offer assistance, just let them know. ____39____; however, make sure they are aware that you are going to help them. Do not clap, repeat or push when guiding a blind person. This would be somewhat rude. Relax. ____40____. Just as a person who uses a wheelchair still goes for a walk, a blind person will still be pleased to "see" you. In other words, blind people use the same expressions as those who are sighted. A. Many blind people will accept help B. Be considerate in conversation with the blind C. Don't talk to the guide dog instead of the blind person D. Some words such as "handicapped" are seen as not politically correct E. Guide dogs are not super animals, and they can be distracted by whistling or food F. Unless you know for sure, assume blindness is the only medical condition this person has G. Don't be embarrassed if you use common expressions such as "See you later" or "Did you watch the movie?" F 37. E 38. B 39. A 40. 【36题详解】 根据前文“Treat blind people as just another person.”(把盲人当作只是另外一个人来对待)可知,此处是讲用平常心对待盲人,根据前文“Many people assume that blind people have other medical problems. This may be so but is not always the case.”(许多人认为盲人还有其他的健康问题。 【37题详解】 根据前文“Never distract guide dogs from their job without permission.”(未经允许,不要干扰导盲犬的工作。) 【38题详解】 根据后文“When having a conversation in a group, remember to identify the person you are speaking to, i.e. using his or her name—otherwise, the blind person will be confused as to whether or not you are speaking to them. When leaving, always inform the blind person so that they will not be left talking to the air.”(在一群人交谈时,记住要说出你在和谁说话,也就是说出他或她的名字,否则,盲人会搞不清你是不是在和他们说话。 【39题详解】 根据前文“If you offer assistance, just let them know”(如果你提供帮助,就告诉他们)可知,此处是讲为盲人提供帮助,根据转折词however可知,空格处和后文“make sure they are aware that you are going to help them ”(确保他们知道你打算帮助他们)构成转折关系。 故选A。 根据后文“Just as a person who uses a wheelchair still goes for a walk, a blind person will still be pleased to "see" you. In other words, blind people use the same expressions as those who are sighted.”(就像一个坐轮椅的人仍然去散步一样,一个盲人仍然会很高兴“看到”你。 Writing bothered me in high school. Sensing my frustration, he explained, “Writing isn’t a ____51____ thing; it requires revising, just like your experiments.” The realization struck me: I had spent a year ____52____ my engineering design. Why did I expect my writing to be superb ____53____? So I rewrote, reshaped, and clarified my paper, and found the correct ____54____ in the jungle. It was a requirement for his high school graduation, but to him, the place smelled like old medicine and boredom. He usually spent his shifts doing the bare minimum: passing out water cups and avoiding eye contact. His least favorite resident was Mr. Henderson, a grumpy (暴躁的) 80-year-old man who always sat in a wheelchair in the far corner of the recreation room. Mr. Henderson never smiled, never joined the group activities, and frequently complained about the “noisy teenagers”. Leo made sure to keep his distance, annoyed by the constant complaints. Yet there was one thing Leo had noticed about the old man. Mr. Henderson always kept a small, worn-out songbook on his lap. One stormy Saturday, the nursing home was hosting its monthly music hour. The residents were gathered in the hall, eagerly waiting for the local volunteer band to arrive. However, at 2:00 p.m., the activity coordinator (协调员), Sarah, rushed in looking panicked. “The band’s bus broke down on the way here,” she announced, her voice shaking slightly. “They can’t make it.” A wave of disappointment swept through the room. Some residents sighed heavily; others lowered their heads. Sarah looked around helplessly, her eyes landing on an old, dusty piano in the corner of the room. “Does anyone know how to play?” she asked the room. Leo froze. He had been playing the piano since he was six and was exceptionally good at it. But the thought of playing in front of a crowd terrified him. He looked at the floor, hoping nobody would notice him. But then, he glanced up at the residents. For the first time, Leo didn’t see a room full of annoying strangers. He saw disappointed people who had been looking forward to this small moment of joy. His eyes stopped at Mr. Henderson, noticing the usual anger had disappeared from his face. Instead, he was staring silently at the empty piano. At that moment, Leo made a decision. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ To everyone’s surprise, a rough, shaky voice began to sing along to the music. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: At that moment, Leo made a decision. He took a deep breath and walked to the piano. His hands trembled slightly as he sat down, but when his fingers touched the keys, a familiar tune filled the room. He began to play a classic song. The residents were startled at first, but soon they were immersed in the beautiful music. Some closed their eyes, savoring the moment, while others nodded gently with the rhythm. Mr. Henderson also leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on Leo, as if he was trying to recall something. To everyone’s surprise, a rough, shaky voice began to sing along to the music. It was Mr. Henderson. He opened his mouth, and although his voice was not as clear as it used to be, it carried a deep emotion. He sang with all his heart. Other residents also joined in, and the room was filled with the harmonious sound of music and singing. Leo was deeply moved, and his fingers became more and more dexterous on the keys. At that moment, the storm outside seemed to fade away, and only the warmth and joy in the room remained. 词类激活: 行为类: ①弹奏:play/strum ②加入:join in/participate in 情绪类 ①被吓了一跳:be startled/be taken aback ②被打动了的:be moved/be emotionally overwhelmed 【点睛】【高分句型1】 Some closed their eyes, savoring the moment, while others nodded gently with the rhythm..(使用了现在分词短语作状语) 【高分句型2】Mr. Henderson also leaned forward slightly, his eyes fixed on Leo, as if he was trying to recall something.(使用了“名词+过去分词”独立主格结构) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 河南省信阳高级中学北湖校区 2026-2027学年高三上期09月测试(一) 英语试题 考生注意: 1. How much is the shirt? C. B When Angel Reese first joined the Chicago Sky as the No.7 pick in the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) draft, the transition was far from smooth. C After nearly a decade of trying, Apple finally gave up its effort to produce an electric car last year, canceling a project that soaked up $10 billion. D An artificial intelligence can now predict the location and rate of crime across a city a week in advance with up to 90 percent accuracy. How to Interact with the Blind Interacting with a blind person may be a little discouraging at first. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $听力考试正式开始。I like the convenience of living in a big city. We started from a small village and climbed up to the top of White mountain. More and more tourists will come in summer, so I wanted to enjoy the quiet, natural beauty early. We set off at six in the morning. The road was rough and we had to hold on to rocks to keep safe. Some of us felt tired easily, so we stopped to rest several times. Our bags were not heavy, but we still felt weak when we reach the middle station, we saw many strange birds and colorful flowers along the way. I took photos and rope down what I saw in my notebook. I also worried about my teammates, especially when the weather became windy and cold. On the last leg of the trip, we found that our drinking water was running out. We thought we had prepared enough for the trip. Later, we realize that some of us drink more than needed. Some tours passed by, but they had no extra water. Then we met a local guide working at the park volunteer, and he gave us some clean water. In the end, we got to the top safely and went back home happily.
