Do you know meerkats (猫鼬)? They are small. Their bodies are about 29 cm long. They mainly live in the dry areas in Africa, with enemies everywhere. So how do meerkats stay alive in such a challenging environment?
Well, they have developed many skills: They’re good at hunting (狩猎); they can see enemies from far away. But the most important is that they live and work together as a team.
Meerkats live underground in groups. Everyone has a role to play. Usually, one meerkat watches for enemies, and the others are responsible for tasks like looking after the baby meerkats and looking for food. When danger comes, the guard meerkat will make a loud warning sound so that all the others can run and hide. Sometimes, if there is a direct fight, meerkats will work together to drive away the enemies.
Meerkats demonstrate the importance of teamwork. It is the key to their safety and survival (生存) in the wild. They show us that together we are stronger. For humans, teams are groups of people with different skills. They work toward a common goal. When everyone in a team uses their own strengths, the team can achieve more.
However, teamwork is not always perfect. It has problems. For example, it sometimes takes longer to make a decision, as there might be disagreements. That’s why a great leader is required. He or she can help make decisions and keep the team moving forward.

The true power of teamwork
As the old saying goes, “Many hands make light work.” But I never truly understood it until I experienced the power of teamwork myself.
Last term, I entered a poster design competition with my two classmates. Instead of planning as a team, we simply divided the tasks and worked separately: I drew pictures, one wrote the slogans and another collected information.
A week later, when we tried to put our parts together, the result was a mess! The pictures, slogans and the background information didn’t match. It was then that we realised the real problem. We lacked communication. We were not working as a real team. Determined to fix it, we sat down, shared our ideas, and made a new plan together. As a result of our effective cooperation, we won third prize in the competition.
This experience helped me understand the true power of teamwork. A team is not just a group of people working side by side, but different minds and strengths coming together as one. With good teamwork, we can create something truly remarkable.
