◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and present sentences with object clauses from the reading.
2.Lead in the grammar:object clauses introduced by if/whether and question words.
Step 2 Presentation:Object clauses introduced by if/whether
1.Explain that if or whether can introduce an object clause which changes a yes⁃no question into part of a sentence.
2.Emphasize that the word order in the object clause should be the same as that in a statement.
3.Explain that object clauses introduced by if/whether often follow verbs such as “ask,see,wonder” and “find out”,and that whether is often preferred in formal situations.
Step 3 Practice
1.Work on A1
(1)Ask students to complete Amy’s diary entry using that or if/whether according to whether the clause is a statement or a yes⁃no question.
(2)Check the answers and ask students to explain why each introductory word is used.
2.Work on A2
(1)Organize students to talk with partners about their learning problems,using object clauses introduced by if or whether.
(2)Invite some pairs to share and give feedback.
