(2)Why do we celebrate New Year? 3.Ask some students to share their answers.Then correct. 4.Play a short video about the Chinese New Year to help students to know more about the festival. Step 2 Pre⁃reading 　　Play a short video about New Year celebrations around the world.And ask students if they want to know more. Step 3 While⁃reading 1.Ask students to read the video script for the first time and answer the following questions: (1)How many countries are mentioned in the video script? (2)What do people from these countries do to celebrate New Year? 2.Ask students to underline some useful phrases and expressions.Then analyze some important language points. 3.Play the recording of the video script for the first time and ask students to listen only. 4.Play the recording again and ask students to read after it. 5.Ask six students to read one paragraph each.Praise them and correct their mistakes.
