1.Greet the class.

2.Ask some students to introduce themselves or one of their classmates.

Step 2 Presentation

1.Ask students to read Millie’s message to her old friend Jenny and pay attention to the use of the verb be.

2.Ask one student to read out the passage.

3.Ask students to fill the following blanks.

4.Check the answers and conclude the rules.

1.Work on A

(1)Let students look at the pictures in A.These are some pictures of Millie,her classmates and her teacher at the new school.Complete what they are saying with the correct forms of the verb be.

(2)Ask some students to read out the sentences and share their correct answers.And check together.

(3)Ask students to pay attention to the pronunciation of the new words.

2.Work on B

(1)Let students look at the conversation and complete the conversation with the correct forms of the verb be.

(2)Ask some students to read out the conversation and share their answers.

(3)If some students still don’t know how to use the verb be,explain it again and give more practice.

3.Work on C

(1)Ask students to talk with their partners about people and things in their new school,using the correct forms of the verb be.

(2)Ask some students to share their conversations with the class.
