It was a cold day in the middle of winter, but Harry’s house was warm. He read in the kitchen and learnt about a great doctor called Zhang Zhongjing in ancient China.
Winter was very cold in Zhang’s town. Many poor people didn’t have hats to cover their ears, so they had red and sore ears. Zhang wanted to do something. He took a big pot of hot water and cooked mutton and herbs (药草). Then he used flour (面粉) to make small and round dough (面团) and then rolled it out. After that, he put the mutton and herbs inside and folded (折叠) the dough, and the folded dough looked like ears. He put the dough in the soup and cooked it. Zhang invented (发明) dumplings!
