Passage 1
(25-26高一上·湖南名校联盟·期中)Imagine living in a city with no cars, no traffic jams, and no smoke in the air. That is the daring plan behind The Line, a city planned in the desert of Saudi Arabia. It will stretch for 170 kilometers, but it will only be 200 meters wide, with mirrored walls taller than the Eiffel Tower.
Life Inside The Line
Life inside The Line is designed to be efficient, modern, and high-tech. People will be able to reach schools, shops, and parks in just five minutes on foot. If they want to travel further, a super-fast train will carry them from one end of the city to the other in only 20 minutes. There will be no private cars at all, which means cleaner air and less noise. Instead, robots and artificial intelligence will manage the city, controlling energy, waste, and even public transport.
Nature and Water Challenges
Building such an enormous city in the desert creates serious environmental challenges. Rare animals, such as the Arabian leopard, risk losing their natural homes. The mirrored walls may also confuse birds, causing them to fly into the glass. The greatest problem, however, is water. Experts say the city will need around two million litres of drinking water every day, and because the desert has no rivers, most water will come from desalination, a process that removes salt from seawater. This technology is useful, but it requires large amounts of energy and can damage marine life if not carefully managed.
The Future
By 2045, Saudi Arabia hopes nine million people will live inside The Line and that the city will become a global leader in green technology. But experts warn that houses may be far too expensive for most ordinary Saudis, and the extreme desert climate could make life uncomfortable. The Line might succeed and inspire future cities around the world or — it could fail and become one of the costliest failures in history.
1.How will people move inside The Line if they want to go longer distances?
A. By flying taxi.
B. By private car.
C. By desert bus.
D. By super-fast train.
2.What is the biggest environmental problem?
A. Not enough drinking water.
B. Birds flying into the glass.
C. The high cost of removing salt.
D. Animals losing their homes.
3.What is the author's attitude toward the future of The Line?
A. Unsure but excited.
B. Positive and careful.
C. Hopeful but worried.
D. Angry and disappointed.

Step 1: Choose Your Club and Set Goals
First, decide the type of club you want to create. Consider whether you are starting a new club, bringing back an old one, or making a present one bigger. Set clear and achievable goals. For example, if you want to start a chess club, you may need at least eight members to hold competitions. Knowing your goal will help you plan well.
Step 2: Know Who You Want to Join
Think about who might be interested in joining the club. For a math club, students who are good at STEM subjects are a natural choice, but don’t limit yourself. Step 3: Recruit (招募) Members
This is the most important step. You can use several methods:
·Posters: Make eye-catching posters and place them in classrooms, halls, and online.
·Announcements: Ask the school to include your club in daily announcements.
·Club Days: Set up a special place where you students can try things. Fun activities get more attention than a simple sign.
Step 4: Welcome New Members
Once members join, make them feel included. Plan activities that allow everyone to join in, even beginners. Members are more likely to stay and help the club do well.
Starting a club needs planning, creativity, and teamwork. Follow these steps, and you can build an active and growing group in your school and finally enjoy your school life.

(25-26高一上·湖南长沙雅礼教育集团·期中)When AI art generators become popular around the world, a question stays in people’s minds: should their works really be thought of as art? While the technology is still developing and has things to improve, it’s clear we must balance its problems against the amazing artworks that good AI can make.
Art is defined as something made from imagination, skill, experience and emotion, usually created to show something for people to enjoy. Human artists spend time and effort turning their inner thoughts into real works. In the same way, AI uses a lot of computing power to look through huge amounts of data, link a user’s request to related information, and try to present it as well as possible. The main difference, though, is that AI follows orders instead of having a strong feeling to express itself.
With one press of the enter key, AI art generators can produce more than 1,000 original works. But a mass-produced copy of the Mona Lisa is less valuable than Leonardo da Vinci’s real painting. Why? Scarcity — there’s only one true version. This brings up questions: Should anyone pay for AI-generated art? And if an artist sells AI-made great works, what price is right?
AI art works when a program copies the styles of existing artists to create new pieces based on what people ask for. But who should get credit for the artwork — the machine or the person using it? Can original artists take legal action for copyright violation? These questions make it hard to mix AI and the art industry, and also make more arguments against seeing AI-generated art as products that can be sold.
Once we solve these problems, we can deal with the biggest question: When an AI-generated painting wins an award, who should get the prize?
1.What makes AI art different from human art?
A. It doesn’t show humans’ inner feelings.
B. It comes from people’s life experience.
C. It needs less money to make.
D. It mixes various work styles together.
2.Why does the writer mention Mona Lisa in paragraph 3?
A. To show classic artworks are well-liked.
B. To prove AI painters are better than human artists.
C. To point out possible problems with AI art’s value.
D. To suggest a new way to keep art masterpieces.
3.What can we learn from paragraph 4?
A. AI art helps sell more artistic products.
B. Artists can create more works with AI’s help.
C. The art industry will have tough competition.
D. AI art makes copyright problems harder to solve.
4.What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To explain why AI-generated art is more popular than human art.
B. To discuss the arguments and questions around AI-generated art’s status.
C. To introduce how AI art generators create original artworks.
D. To prove that AI-generated art should not be seen as real art.
A 2. C 3. D 4. B

根据文章第二段“The main difference, though, is that AI follows orders instead of having a strong feeling to express itself.(然而,主要区别在于AI遵循指令,而非拥有强烈的情感需要表达。)” 故选A。
根据文章第三段“But a mass-produced copy of the Mona Lisa is less valuable than Leonardo da Vinci’s real painting. Why? Scarcity—there’s only one true version. This brings up questions: Should anyone pay for AI-generated art? And if an artist sells AI-made great works, what price is right?(但批量复制的《蒙娜丽莎》不如达·芬奇的真迹有价值。
根据文章第四段“But who should get credit for the artwork—the machine or the person using it? Can original artists take legal action for copyright violation? These questions make it hard to mix AI and the art industry, and also make more arguments against seeing AI-generated art as products that can be sold.(但谁应该获得艺术作品的荣誉——是机器还是使用它的人?原创艺术家可以因版权侵权提起诉讼吗?这些问题使得AI与艺术行业难以融合,也引发了更多反对将AI生成艺术视为可销售产品的争论。)”可知,第四段提出多个关键问题,谁应获得作品署名权?机器还是用户?原创艺术家能否起诉侵权?这些问题使AI与艺术行业的融合变得复杂。这表明AI加剧了版权认定的难度。故选D。
(4)题解析:
推理判断题。根据文章第一段“When AI art generators become popular around the world, a question stays in people’s minds: should their works really be thought of as art?(当AI艺术生成器风靡全球时,一个问题萦绕在人们心中:它们的作品真的应该被视为艺术吗?)”

Passage 1
Cold Truths
Healthy You!
Is there any truth behind the saying “You are what you eat”? We, put this to the test by asking three people to open their fridge doors and talk about their lifestyles. Can you guess which fridge belongs to which person? Maybe you can recognize your own fridge here!
Ellie 24 Junior doctor
There’s not enough room to swing a cat in my small apartment, so I don’t cook very often. My fridge is usually half empty and I’m often too tired to eat much anyway. I often end up saving part of my meal for the next day. Some evenings, I’ll just have something quick, like toast, or even just a yogurt with honey. As a doctor, I know I had better change the way I eat, but I just don’t have the time or the energy right now.
Jenny 31 Teacher
My husband and I avoid all products that come from animals. This means we don’t eat meat, and any milk or cheese had better be dairy-free. We like cooking at home and make our meals from fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables. Cooking together gives us a chance to relax and catch up on each other’s days. If we have children, I want to bring them up just like us, but my husband says that everyone should be able to make their own lifestyle choices.
Ted 35 Construction worker
Each day at the construction site is more or less the same—tiring! When I get back home, there’s nothing more satisfying than a big meat dinner. I guess I’ve always been a big meat eater and in this house, no family meal is complete without some form of meat. I still don’t think that anything can beat my mum’s homemade sausages, though.

A. She lives in a large apartment.
B. She is planning to change her diet soon.
C. She sometimes eats only yogurt with honey.
D. She often cooks big meals.

(25-26高一上·湖南株洲株洲南方中学·期中)Do you have anything you want to share with others? Starting a high school club can help you build a group and connect with like-minded students. Here is a step-by-step guide to get started.
Students doing well in other fields, such as drawing and structural (结构的) design, may also provide unique ideas. A clear target group increases the chances of getting members.
