Ultimate Yellowstone & Grand Teton Safari
Overview
Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks are among the most famous natural areas in the United States. A seven-day safari tour gives visitors a chance to enjoy the beauty of the two parks. Under the guidance of naturalist leaders who know the area well, travelers are taken to wildlife locations that many ordinary tourists fail to discover.
The tour follows the path of President Theodore Roosevelt, who visited Yellowstone in 1903 and greatly admired its natural beauty. After seeing the park’s amazing landforms and rich wildlife, he believed such places should be protected for future generations. Today, Yellowstone and Grand Teton remain two of America’s most valuable national parks.
What to do
During the trip, visitors can see a wide variety of wild animals. These include elk, bison, moose, bighorn sheep, foxes, coyotes, bald eagles, black bears, grizzly bears and wolves. One highlight of the safari is a relaxing float trip on the Snake River near the Grand Teton. Moving quietly along the river, visitors may see moose, elk and otters nearby, while eagles fly high above the mountains. The beautiful scenery of Jackson Hole and the tall peaks (山峰) of the Teton make the experience even more memorable.
Transportation
The tour also provides comfortable travel conditions. Visitors ride in specially designed vehicles (车辆) equipped with soft seats, USB chargers and pop-top roofs, allowing a 360° view of the surrounding landscape and wildlife.

In our digital age, many things fight for our attention: phone buzzes, social media, endless emails and content. Real stillness — when our mind can wander freely — has become rare. Technology is part of work, education, and relationships. Not participating feels to many like nonexistence. Platforms promise endless choices and self-expression, but this promise is deceptive. What appears as freedom masks a subtle pressure: distraction, visibility, and engagement become obligations.
For people who want to step out of this loop, a possible answer came from a thinker most people wouldn’t expect to help us with TikTok era problems: the German philosopher Martin Heidegger. He believed that modern technology is not just a collection of tools, but a way of seeing the world as a resource — including our own minds and bodies. Digital culture values speed, visibility, algorithms, and creating content all the time. Life starts to act like a social media feed: always updating, always “now,” and unable to stand slowness or silence. This harms deep thinking, making us unable to enjoy silence or face empty moments.
When moments of silence or emptiness arise, we instinctively look to others — not for real connection, but to flee from boredom and fill the nothingness with distraction. However, for Heidegger, profound boredom is not merely a psychological state but privileged mood in which the everyday world begins to withdraw. In his lectures, he described boredom as a basic state in which the world becomes strangely indifferent to us. In that state, we see life as a whole. Boredom is not an absence but a threshold — a condition for thinking, wonder, and the emergence of meaning. If we never allow ourselves to be bored, we never truly allow ourselves to be who we are.
Digital distractions stop us from entering this important state. We turn our restlessness into scrolling, which only creates more scrolling. Rediscovering boredom is not about wasting time. It is about getting back the conditions for thought, depth, and being true to ourselves. The unstructured moment and the quiet pause are not failures — they are necessary for a full life.
How does the author introduce the issue in the first paragraph?
A.By quoting previous research.
B.By defining a key concept.
C.By describing common experiences.
D.By making a striking contrast.
According to Heidegger, what is the role of boredom?
A.It is a psychological disorder to be avoided.
B.It fosters genuine thought and insight.
C.It results from too much digital distraction.
D.It is something people instinctively escape from.
What does the author suggest at the end of the passage?
A.We should completely reject digital technology.
B.We need to spend more time on social media.
C.We should rediscover boredom as a path to authenticity.
D.We must learn to fill every silent moment with content.
What is the best title for the passage?
A.Fighting Distraction: A Battle We Keep Losing.
B.Following Heidegger: A Way to Escape from Digital Overload.
C.Losing Stillness: The Real Price of Constant Connection.
D.Embracing Boredom: The Unexpected Path to Being Ourselves.

On Tuesday, a Beijing startup demonstrated humanoid robots carefully picking up litter and sorting flower bunches. The event, hosted by X Square Robot, presented a modest spectacle (场面) compared to the industry’s usual performance of robots that can run, flip, and dance. Yet, it showed a significant shift: Chinese companies like X Square Robot are now focused on proving the practical value humanoids can bring to the messy, unpredictable environments of everyday life, rather than just their stage capabilities.
“The hardware (硬件) is largely there,” said Wang Qian, chief executive of startup X Square Robot. “But the brain hasn’t caught up.” Chinese humanoid robots can complete half-marathons faster than outstanding athletes, but tasks that seem simple to the average human — tidying a messy room, loading a dishwasher, or folding clothes — remain stubbornly hard for these machines.
“Why don’t marathon robots face this challenge? Because what they mainly deal with is a constant gravitational field,” said Wang. “But when we handle things with our hands, if we are off by 0.1 millimeters, the whole task may fail.” Repetitive actions such as running only require a robot to be trained on a relatively simple dataset. Navigating (管理) a household, where no task is ever exactly the same, requires a much more complicated “brain” that can allow a machine to perceive gravity and light like human beings.
Last month, X Square Robot partnered with a service platform that allowed users in Shenzhen to book a professional human cleaner and one of the company’s home-cleaning robots. The robots have served over 50 households so far.
While consumer feedback (反馈) has been mainly that the machine is slow and awkward, Wang argues that only by entering real households can the robots improve their ability to perform simple tasks. “Sometimes it may stop to ’think’ halfway while cleaning a table,” Wang said, adding that whenever the robot breaks down or fails to complete a task, a company employee will step in remotely.
Wang pointed out that once the technology matures and robots become reliable household helpers, the potential market size would be vast.
What message did the event mainly deliver about humanoid robots?
A.A change to their applications.
B.The great need for better hardware.
C.Their amazing stage performance.
D.Their efficiency in litter management.
Why are household tasks harder for robots?
A.They involve varying situations.
B.They happen in stable gravity.
C.They demand human guidance.
D.They need greater running speed.
What is Wang’s view on the users’ feedback?
A.It focuses on poor after-sales service.
B.It reveals a design problem of the robot.
C.It is a necessary step for progress.
D.It shows the maturity of AI technology.
What is the main idea of the text?
A.The hardware limits robot development.
B.A startup leads global robot innovation.
C.Chinese robots turn to practical home use.
D.Big markets drive robot-tech upgrading.

Mikaela Shiffrin once fell heavily on the snow in Killington. She skied steadily at first, but lost balance and hit safety nets hard. A metal gate cut deep into her stomach, nearly hurting inner organs. She couldn’t stand up on her own and was carried away on a sled (雪橇). Two months after the operation, her body recovered slowly, yet mental wounds were much harder to cure. Every night she would wake up recalling the terrible fall.
Back on snow in early 2025, her body would turn tight from fear when speeding up to turn. Bad memories appeared before every match. Doctors diagnosed her with PTSD, leaving her full of self-doubt. Twelve years had passed since she won her first Olympic slalom (回转滑雪) gold in 2014. She lost her father who taught her skiing from childhood. The 2022 Beijing Winter Games brought her greater anxiety; she couldn’t finish three races and lost all confidence. Heavy public pressure made many journalists advise her to step away from competitive skiing.
Mikaela refused to give up her beloved sport. She visited a sports psychologist often to talk through her deepest fears. She practiced slow easy turns little by little to rebuild trust in herself, with her team cheering her on no matter how poor her practice results were.
At the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, she cared little about medals. She only hoped to ski freely without being troubled by past pain. Before stepping onto the track, she took a deep breath and calmed herself down repeatedly. She adjusted her posture gently and focused all her attention on every upcoming bend. Even when she felt unease, she told herself to stay present and keep moving forward. In women’s slalom, she stayed calm through every bend and took a big lead early. Crossing the finish line, she knelt down and cried.
Twelve years of pain, sadness and self-doubt faded away at last. The gold medal told her true sports spirit: the hardest race is not against other competitors, but your own fear and self-doubt.
What can we learn about Mikaela from Paragraph 1?
A.She suffered serious bodily injuries.
B.She gave up skiing training for good.
C.She gained physical and mental recovery.
D.The metal gate damaged her sports equipment.
What troubled Mikaela most in the 12 years after 2014?
A.The death of her father.
B.Failure in competitive races.
C.Disagreements with teammates.
D.Huge pressure and lack of confidence.
What can we infer from Paragraph 4?
A.She aimed to win a medal at all costs.
B.She got great support from her teammates.
C.She got rid of mental trouble through efforts.
D.She felt kind of scared throughout the whole race.
What is the main idea of the passage?
A.Mikaela shows excellent performances in skiing.
B.A skier overcomes inner fright to win Olympic gold.
C.Psychologists help athletes deal with mental troubles.
D.Mikaela rises steadily to become a Winter Games champion.

It can be hard to stay motivated when learning a language. It’s easy to lose interest if you’re always thinking, “How often do I need to study?” or “How long is it going to take to become fluent?” 36 It is often more important than how hard you study!
● 37
Instead of thinking about far-away goals, use the language to do things that you enjoy right now! For example, if you like learning about other cultures, watch TV shows or read in the language. 38
● Have a conversation every day
To get the best results, you need to study grammar and vocabulary, but you also need to practice speaking and listening. Try to have a conversation in the language every day, even for a few minutes. Spend time discussing your favorite topics, like your favorite hobbies or places to visit. 39 Over time, conversation will become easier. As you see how much you’ve improved, you’ll want to speak even more!
● Set easy daily goals
Lastly, set daily learning goals. 40 Instead, make small goals for yourself, like “listen to an audiobook in English for 30 minutes every day.” By dividing your bigger goals into daily tasks, learning becomes easier — and more fun!
A.Enjoy the things you do.
B.Use the language to do things you enjoy.
C.Here are some ways to keep you motivated.
D.Don’t worry about mistakes; just try to have fun.
E.In fact, the way you think about studying matters a lot.
F.Big goals, like “become fluent in English”, aren’t very motivating.
G.If you enjoy cooking or sports, watch YouTube videos about food or soccer.

At the library, Nate Jasper noticed a sign for the “First Annual Highland Drawing Contest.” It asked for artwork showing the unique beauty of their town. Noticing his interest, the librarian, Ms. Kim, handed him a flyer. “The winning drawings will be displayed right here in the library,” she added.
Sitting on the library steps outside, Nate was lost in thought. He had always loved art. He could never have too many sketchpads (素描本) and crayons. “I have to enter this contest!” he said to himself.
But something troubled him. Years of living in the small town had convinced him that it was a dull place. “There’s nothing special about it — only ordinary farms, animals, and trees!” he frowned. “What will I draw?”
Just then, Briana Williams, a new girl in his class who had just moved from Houston, a large modern city in Texas, walked out. Spotting Nate, she sat down beside him and noticed the flyer. “A drawing contest? That sounds fun!”
“Not really,” Nate sighed. “Trust me, this town is a big bore.”
Briana looked surprised. “Well, everything here may seem boring to you, but to me, it’s all new! I’d love to see more of it. Show me around sometime. And bring your sketchpad — you might find something worth drawing.”
The next Saturday, they wandered down a quiet lane together. Briana stopped beneath a large maple and gazed up in awe. Nate paused beside her. At first, it felt strange to admire a tree he’d passed a hundred times. But as he followed her gaze, the sun was shining through the branches, turning the red and yellow leaves into a sea of burning gold.
“There’s nowhere this quiet and pretty in Houston,” Briana said softly.
Nate felt something clicked in his mind. Highland wasn’t a big bore — he was just too used to it. He began to wonder what other hidden beauty was waiting to be discovered.
注意:
1.续写词数应为150个左右;
Inspired, Nate suggested they visit his Grandpa’s farm.

We often think that friendship requires similarity, but perhaps it is our differences that make connections meaningful. Let me tell you about an unlikely friendship between three different animals: Leo the lion, Shere Khan the tiger, and Baloo the bear. They were the best of friends — something that would never happen in the wild. They were found scared and hungry in someone’s home when they were little, and it was reported that all three had been treated poorly. Given a second chance, they were rehomed at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary, a nonprofit animal rescue center, where they spent the rest of their lives. Many assumed that as they grew up, the three would naturally grow apart. Instead, much to everyone’s surprise, they grew closer and closer, always staying near each other, playing in the large park, and never going further than one hundred feet apart. I couldn’t believe the video was real when I first saw it — it looked AI-made. Let’s take a look together.

W: Welcome back, everyone. This is Global Wave Radio. Here’s something interesting. Yesterday, a teenage girl named Emma Reed from Vancouver, Canada, received a package from Switzerland. Inside was her sketchbook, lost three years ago during a school trip to the Swiss Alps. It was found by Lucas Weber, a high school art teacher, near a hiking trail in Interlaken in 2022. There was no name or address, but it contained beautiful drawings of mountains and forests, with a short poem on the cover. Impressed by the artwork and poem, Lucas kept the sketchbook and began searching online for its owner. Last month, he came across a news article about a Vancouver student organizing an environmental art exhibition using nature-themed paintings. The article quoted her poem — the very one on the cover of the sketchbook. Lucas contacted the author of the article, who helped him reach Emma, now 17. Soon, the sketchbook was returned. Emma was shocked and deeply moved. “I thought it was gone forever,” she said. “The sketchbook’s journey home reminds us that small acts of kindness can bridge distances and bring joy across time and borders.”
根据 Overview 段落 “travelers are taken to wildlife locations that many ordinary tourists fail to discover” 定位,该行程可以带领游客前往普通游客难以抵达、鲜为人知的野生动物区域。
根据文末 “Please click here for more information”,“点击此处” 是网页典型用语,可推断文本来源于网站。
根据第一段 “In our digital age, many things fight for our attention: phone buzzes, social media, endless emails and content.”
根据第三段 “Boredom is not an absence but a threshold — a condition for thinking, wonder, and the emergence of meaning.”
根据最后一段 “Rediscovering boredom is not about wasting time. It is about getting back the conditions for thought, depth, and being true to ourselves.”
根据第一段中 “Yet, it showed a significant shift: Chinese companies like X Square Robot are now focused on proving the practical value humanoids can bring to the messy, unpredictable environments of everyday life, rather than just their stage capabilities” 可知,此次机器人展示活动体现出人形机器人从舞台表演转向日常生活实用场景的应用变革。
根据第三段中 “Repetitive actions such as running only require a robot to be trained on a relatively simple dataset. Navigating a household, where no task is ever exactly the same, requires a much more complicated ‘brain’” 可知,跑步等常规动作场景固定、可重复,而家务任务场景多变、无统一标准,因此对机器人难度更高。
根据第五段中 “Wang argues that only by entering real households can the robots improve their ability to perform simple tasks” 可知,尽管用户反馈机器人动作笨拙、速度缓慢,但王乾认为走进真实家庭、接收用户反馈,是机器人优化升级、实现技术进步的必经过程。
根据第一段中 “Chinese companies like X Square Robot are now focused on proving the practical value humanoids can bring to the messy, unpredictable environments of everyday life, rather than just their stage capabilities” 以及全文内容可知,文章主要讲述中国人形机器人摆脱舞台表演的局限,转向家庭实用场景研发与落地应用。

She couldn’t stand up on her own and was carried away on a sled (雪橇).”
根据第二段 “Doctors diagnosed her with PTSD, leaving her full of self-doubt... The 2022 Beijing Winter Games brought her greater anxiety... lost all confidence. Heavy public pressure...”
根据第四段 “She cared little about medals. She only hoped to ski freely without being troubled by past pain... Even when she felt unease, she told herself to stay present and keep moving forward.” 以及第五段 “Twelve years of pain, sadness and self-doubt faded away at last.” A 项“不惜一切代价赢得奖牌”与原文 “cared little about medals” 矛盾,B 项“得到了队友的大力支持”在第四段未提及(第三段有提),D 项“整场比赛都感到害怕”与原文 “stayed calm through every bend” 不符。
通读全文,尤其是尾段中的“Twelve years of pain, sadness and self-doubt faded away at last. The gold medal told her true sports spirit: the hardest race is not against other competitors, but your own fear and self-doubt.)”

G 选项 “If you enjoy cooking or sports, watch YouTube videos about food or soccer.”
D 选项 “Don’t worry about mistakes; just try to have fun.”
F 选项 “Big goals, like “become fluent in English”, aren’t very motivating.”

Dear classmates,
I’d like to share my experience of finishing the English reading task recently. I have read a collection of short English stories about teenagers’ growth. The simple but touching stories talk about courage, friendship and self-improvement, which are easy to understand and really inspiring.
This reading has brought me great benefits. Firstly, it has greatly enriched my vocabulary and improved my reading skills. Besides, it teaches me to face difficulties bravely and value sincere friendship. I believe regular reading can help us make steady progress in English study.
Thank you for listening.
67.
Inspired, Nate suggested they visit his Grandpa’s farm. Briana’s eyes lit up, and the two set off right away. When they arrived, Briana gasped, “This is amazing!” Her wonder was infectious — Nate looked around, feeling as if he were seeing the farm for the first time. Golden wheat fields swayed in the breeze like a rolling ocean, fluffy sheep grazing peacefully in the sunlight. He stood there, completely captivated. Then, Briana gently nudged him. “You should draw this, Nate. It’s a perfect scene.” That was it. Nate pulled out his sketchpad immediately, his pencil dancing across the paper. As his painting took shape, he wondered why he had never thought to draw the farm before. Once he looked closely, it really was a fascinating place. By sunset, his sketchpad was filled with lively drawings.
On the day of the award ceremony, the library was crowded. Local residents gathered around, buzzing with anticipation. Nate stood nervously among them, his heart pounding. Ms. Kim stepped onto the stage. “Every drawing captures the unique beauty of our town,” she said warmly, “but one work truly stood out.” She paused, and then announced Nate’s name. He walked up in disbelief, hands trembling as he accepted the award. The audience applauded loudly, and Briana waved at him from the crowd, beaming with pride. Nate stepped back, looking at his winning piece on the wall — a vivid scene of Grandpa’s farm bathed in golden sunlight. A warm smile spread across his face — beauty had always been there, and sometimes all it took was a pair of fresh eyes to see it.
